I let the seed soak in water and after three days it started rooting and I put it in a 100ml germination pot. On Thursday the seedling poked it's Head though the ground.

The plant stopped stretching after reaching about four fingers above the ground and developed the first single-leaf pair as well as the tips of the three-leafed Pair.

I re-potted the Plant at the start of week 2 into a pretty tall 4l pot with good drainage and switched to Rewe organic Tomato Soil. In order to help it start rooting again I still added some Root Juice to the water, which I will now stop to not overstimulate th root-growth. This is because of my cucumbers which, whilst being watered with the juice-mix for one and a half weeks, rooted like crazy and needed re-potting immediately 😅 I also started to add Bio-Grow to the mix to help the pre-fertilised soil keep up it’s fertility for the next weeks. Despite me overwatering the little guy first with 350ml, then with 250ml of water-fertiliser-mix, it kept developing the three-leafed pair as well as their branches and the tips of the next leaves. From now on I will try to water it with 150ml every two days and watch how the soil and plant enjoy that. I wouldn’t mind if the leaves were a little darker but otherwise it seems to be happy and eager to keep growing in the coming week 😊

This week again brought some nice growth! :) I added approximately 150ml of nutrient water Monday evening wich still seemed a bit too much. I think this was because of the soil wasn’t dry enough when I watered again and so I decided to only spray the leaves with water every night and let the soil dry out for the next days. On Thursday evening I discovered a little mushroom that had grown up the wall of the pot, which confirmed that I kept the soil too wet for the last days. 😅 During this week I also decided to promote the soils microbiome by adding mycorrhizal fungi and microbes to the soil near the stem and added around 50ml of nutrient water to activate the spores and initially feed the microbes. The mycorrhizal-mix I decided to buy is listed on Amazon by a brand called G&G-Shop for ~5€ and I hope it will add to the plants Health as well as boost its growth. All in all the plant grew by about 3 cm to now 10cm high and developed the first and second pair of five-tipped-leaves, although the second pair is still very small. I also noticed that two roots had already grown through the holes in the bottom of the pot by Saturday. I’m looking forward to the coming week and, in case the plant keeps accelerating in growth, I might have to put it into its final, probably 12l pot a couple weeks before sending it into flowering.

A lot happened this week! First and foremost, I showed my plant to a friend with a lot more experience than me on Tuesday and he advised me to start topping it. And so I did! It felt a bit wrong but the plant responded nicely to it in the following days with some new branches at the nodes and all the leaves getting bigger and greener. 😊🌱 On Wednesday the soil had finally dried up to a point where I could start watering again. I increased the Bio Grow concentration to 2ml/l and added 150ml of fertiliser mix to the soil which seemed to be the right amount. Since I noticed some fungus gnats around my plants and on the soil I ordered a pack of SF-Nematodes, mixed them with water and added 100ml of it to the soil, averaging the daily water supply to round about 75 ml/day. Today, on Sunday, the bigger leaves started to shade the nodes and since the node leaves were big enough to get some light I trained the big leaves downward using plant wire. Although I was a bit scared to hurt the plant too much at first, I’m now pretty pleased with my work and think it will respond well in the coming week. 😊

It’s training week! In the first half of this week the new branches grew quite a bit and I started tying them to the already tied down leaves in order to keep them growing horizontally. This worked fine although I’ll take some thinner wire next time 😅 If the new branches keep growing like this I think I’ll start defoliating next week but at first I will put it into a 12l growbag where it can stay until Harvest 😊 I also decided to cut the lowest pair of branches and try to grow clones out of them but I’m still unsure whether to cut them whilst defoliating or to give them a little more time to grow. All in all exciting prospects for the coming week 😊
