Off to a great start... Germination was quick after a 24 hr soak in a 50/50 water and H2O2 bath then into a moist paper towel. Placed into a rock wool cube once the Taproot was 1/4" long and she is looking strong early. This is one of the most potent (THC wise) that Happy Bird Seeds has offered and I've really been looking forward to seeing how she grows. Thanks to Geoff for all his work with this sacred plant.
Upsized to quart sized Groloponic containers and moved them to my 3x3 tent to allow for the real growth to get started. I think we're beginning to show some preflower so I'll mix in a little bud explosion to get the bloom party off to the right start. Very stocky plant that's starting to really push some side branching. Other than taking off some of the lower fan leaves, I've pretty much left her alone to do what she does. Not a lot of smell coming on but she's doubled in size in a week, so I'd bet the FGI Square 3 is gonna give her a growth spurt. As always the Greenleaf Nutrients are making it look easy in this microgrow.
Man she went into flower like someone was chasing her. Great structure and growth. Brother Geoff has done some fine work with this lady. All I'm doing is topping off the water daily and maintaining my pH parameters and she's practically growing herself. These 1 quart Groloponic buckets are the real deal.
Full on bloom now. Beautiful plant, strong structure and node spacing. Looks like she's getting hungrier so I'm going to increase the EC of feedings to 2.2 and continue supplementing the Bud Explosion for a PK booster.
Continuing to up the feedings to try to keep up but shes using up nitrogen like crazy. May have to do with the light issue of too much intensity too close but we'll work through it. Cleaned the roots as well to make sure there wasn't any build up causing her issues. Increased container size to 1 gal. Have a feeling I waited too long. Small containers have big swings in temp and pH, which is why she's been off I think.
Sump temps, pH swings, light intensity, she's been through it and she's still plugging along... Really starting to ooze trichomes and has a fuel odor that's really appealing. She's now in a 1 gallon bucket to attempt to control the parameters a little better. New roots are coming out so that's always a great sign!
Continuing to frost up with some gassy terps... Seems like she's back on track but I'm sure there will be an impact on yield from the lockout issue. Still an awesome grow, really stoked to see how this ones effects are.
Looks like she's winding down, maybe 10 more days max. Learned a few new things on this run and the genetics are killer. Very gassy and really loading on the frost.
Final stretch is upon us and shes finishing up nicely. All the pistils are drying back and hopefully she'll swell up and add some weight at the end. Beautiful plant and other than my own miscalculations, this has been a smooth run.
Seems like she's winding down and we're just going to keep her fed and happy so she can thicken up and the trichomes can get some amber... All clear now, but the pistils have all dried back so it won't be long now.
She's caught a second wind and is throwing a few more pistils late in the game... Should help her put a little weight on. Very nice tight buds and a nice layer of trichomes. Got some funky terps, not gas, not fruit, just old sock funk. Definitely glad she's come this far with me and allowed me to do a lot of trial and error here to get this new set up sorted. She'll definitely get another run here!
She's hit another gear and is really packing on the mass. Late bloomer but man is she a beauty. Funky sock smell to her and she's starting to put a little resin into the mix. Keeping things as they running around 2.4 EC, just topping off and adjusting the pH daily to keep her in range. The weight of the buds absolutely pummels the branches so she's getting supported all over. This is one strain I feel could be a perpetual run of I can reverse the last bean I've got left from her. Definitely a "keeper" as the say.
She's still cruising along, still adding weight and looking gooey with all the trichomes. All I'm doing now is keeping the EC around 2.2 and the pH at 5.8 . What a delight she is to grow. She just wouldn't stop, so I had to take her down. Very gym socky kinda funk on her, but it's a welcome nose to the amount of fruity strains I've run lately, it'll be interesting to see how the dry and cure processes effect that. Great leaf to bud ratio should make thim jail more of a weekend pinch than a life sentence.
