I have been encouraged by what I have seen here by other growers, so I thought I would give it a try. This is my first grow and I am very excited. I will try to make a post every week. I am using a seed given to me by a friend. I transplanted my seedling 2 days ago to start the vegetative process. There was some initial shock, but it seems to be recovering.
At the beginning of week 5, and she is looking healthy. I did top her again, and I am starting to get just the slightest hint of a citrus smell. I think this will be her last week in vegetative phase.
Day 2 after switching to 12/12 photoperiod and adding the flowering LEDs on my light. I trimmed a few fan leaves mostly from the bottom. There is a new category in the diary for flowering called Nutrients. I have not tried any nutrients...not for any philosophical reason, but because I am unfamiliar with them. Also, since this is my first grow, I wanted to keep it as simple as possible.
This is Day 9 after switching to a 12/12 photoperiod. The smell was beginning to be noticeable in the house, so I installed a carbon filter with an in-line fan and that seems to be doing the trick. The flowers are starting to develop, and crystals are forming on the leaves. She is getting prettier every day. :)
Week 8 and buds are starting to form nicely. Pics are from day 16 after switching to 12/12 photoperiod. I was expecting a little more growth, but the growth that I do have is very sweet. There is not a lot of smell right now, but the smell that rubs off the leaves is awesome. A couple of fan leaves are drying out, so I will probably trim those.
Day 23 of 12/12 light schedule. Buds continue to form nicely. It is hard not to touch them, because it leaves such a nice smell on my fingers. :) Some fan leaves seem to be withering, but I *think* this might be normal as the plant focuses on the buds. This is my first grow, so if you see something you think might be worrisome, please post a comment.
Day 30 of 12/12 light schedule. Buds continue to develop nicely. Fan leaves continue to dry up as the plant concentrates on the buds. Total plant height seems to have capped at a little over 15 inches. This is supposed to be a fast-flowering strain, so I am estimating there is only about 3-4 more weeks until harvest.
OK...we are day 37 of 12/12 light schedule. The stigma is starting to get some color. There are a lot of trichomes, but I am not seeing any amber color...just clear and milky. It might be another week for finishing, but I dont see it more than 2 weeks at most. I am getting some exciting!!
It is now at the end of this grow. The plant smells really nice. :) This will be the last of the flowering entry for this grow diary. I will be harvesting my plant and begin the drying phase. I will be gather the final stats for my last entry of this diary. I am really happy, but I leave the big thoughts for the harvesting entry. But I will dance a few little steps. Hehehe
