I assume the grow mix, with worm humus and the good pond water, was more than sufficient in nutrients; the chicken manure was just too much of a good thing. That's why we flushed at the end of the week, also with pond water, to avoid slipping from over-fertilization into under-fertilization. Up until the point with the HMP, the plant was doing wonderfully. Conclusion: fell into a classic beginner's trap. Never change a running system.
