Pineapple Express Auto – 70W mini first/legal grow
Endlich. Legalisierung in Deutschland. Wer hätte das gedacht?
Also ich hab irgendwie schon lange nicht mehr dran geglaubt...
Habe zu dem Thema schon seit gut 25 Jahren in unregelmäßiger Regelmäßigkeit recherchiert. :)
Würde sagen ich bin dennoch Gelegenheitsrecherchierer und müsste mit 1-2 kleinen Grows pro
Jahr vollkommen klar kommen. (locker)
Direkt zum Start am 1.4 meine ersten Strains bestellt... doch leider kamen die ewig nicht.
Dafür hatte ich gute 5 Wochen Zeit bis es mit einer Zweitbestellung bei Barney's Farm nun doch
geklappt hat und konnte mir ausführlich darüber Gedanken machen in was für einem Setup
ich eigentlich growen möchte.
Jetzt wo die Sache legal ist dachte ich mir das es schön wäre, wenn ich den Pflänzchen ein wenig
beim wachsen zusehen kann und nicht in einem Zelt oder Abstellkammer verstecken.
Soviel Platz habe ich auch gar nicht in meiner Wohnung, weshalb ich die "Box" irgendwie schöner
integriert haben wollte.
Nachdem ich beim Konditor paar schöne Glasvitrinen gesehen habe, kam die Idee auf
den ganzen Grow in einer solchen stattfinden zu lassen. Die Wahl viel dann auch ziemlich schnell
auf ein Modell des gelb-blauen, schwedischen Möbelhauses. Also ab auf Kleinanzeigen und so eine
Vitrine für nen Hunni geschossen. :)
Jetzt brauche ich "nur" noch Licht. Aber Growlampen waren ab dem 1.4 leider nur schwer zu bekommen
(wer hätte das gedacht?) oder wurden zu Apothekenpreisen im Gebrauchtmarkt verhökert.
Also muss ne Alternative her. Klar war nur: Es sollen LED Leuchten werden.
Leider bis dahin keine Ahnung von LED und Pflanzenwachstum gehabt. Also: Laptop auf, und
mal wieder recherchiert. PPFD, PAR, DLI, wofür sind welche Wellenlängenbereiche zuständig, wo liegen die
Unterschiede zwischen Blurple und Vollspektrum beim growen und so weiter und so fort.
Ich halte mich mal mit meinem persönlichem Fazit kurz:
1. Das beste Licht ist Sonnenlicht
2. Die LED Beleuchtung sollte zumindest sonnenlichtähnlich sein.
3. Ich benötige rund 50-100W Leistung
4. Die Beleuchtung muss mindestens 16h am Tag an sein.
Also habe ich kurz ein bisschen telefoniert und Ledxon Stromschienenleuchten in 3000K, CRI97 organisiert.
Zu Beginn noch etwas kleinere und nach paar Wochen die etwas größeren TL1, welche aber exakt die gleiche
Lichtfarben bzw. LED Chips verbaut haben.
Nachdem ich dann noch die rel. spektrale Lichtverteilung mit dem von einem beliebten österreichischem
Hersteller verglichen habe, war ich mir relativ sicher es mit diesen LED's auch gut hinzubekommen.
Hier noch ein paar Gedanken zu der Spektralverteilung der verwendeten LED Leuchten:
1. Nicht allzu hoher Blauanteil - weniger Höhenwachstum -- kleiner Schrank!
2. guter Grünbereich - bessere Durchdringung des oberen Blattwerks -- ist in der Natur auch vorhanden
3. ziemlich guter Rotbereich - fördert das Blütenwachstum -- hoffentlich klappts. :)
4. und selbst im Tiefrot-Bereich scheinen die verwendeten LED Chips sogar ziemlich gut abzuscheiden.
So, genug gelabert... fangen wir mal an....

At last. Legalization in Germany. Who would have ever thought that?
I've been researching this topic at irregular intervals for a good 25 years. :)
I'd say I'm still an occasional researcher and should be able to manage with 1-2 small grows per year.

I ordered my first strains right at the start on April 1st... but unfortunately they didn't arrive for ages.
But I had a good 5 weeks until I managed to get a second order from Barney's Farm and was able to think
in detail about what kind of setup I actually wanted to grow in.
Now that it's legal, I thought it would be nice to be able to watch the plants grow and not hide them away
in a tent or storage room. I don't have that much space in my apartment, which is why I wanted to integrate
the “box” in a nicer way.
After seeing some beautiful glass cabinets at the confectioner's, the idea quickly came up
to have the whole grow take place in one of these and the choice was made pretty quickly
on a model from the yellow and blue Swedish furniture store. So I went to the online second-hand market
and bought one of these showcases for a hundred. :)
Now I just need some light. But grow lights were unfortunately hard to come by from 1.4 onwards.
(who would have thought it?) or were sold at pharmacy prices on the second-hand market.
So we had to find an alternative. The only thing that was clear was that we wanted LED lights.
Unfortunately, until then I had no idea about LEDs and plant growth. So I opened my laptop and
researched again. PPFD, PAR, DLI, which wavelength ranges are responsible for what, what are the differences
differences between blurple and full spectrum when growing and so on and so forth.
I'll keep my personal conclusion short:
1. the best light is sunlight
2. the LED lighting should at least be similar to sunlight
3. i need around 50-100W of power
4. the lighting must be on for at least 16 hours a day.
So I made a few phone calls and organized Ledxon track lights in 3000K, CRI97 from a friend. (thx B.)
At the beginning a little smaller ones and after a few weeks the larger TL1, which had exactly the same
light colors and LED chips.
After comparing the relative spectral light distribution with that of a pupular Austrian Brand and another
I was relatively certain that these LEDs would also work well.
Here are a few more thoughts on the spectral distribution of the LED lights used:
1. not too high blue component - less height growth -- small cabinet!
2. good green range - better penetration of the upper foliage -- also exists in nature (Sunlight is still the best) :)
3. fairly good red range - promotes flower growth -- hopefully it will work. :)
4. and even in the deep red range, the LED chips used seem to emit quite well.
So, that's enough talk... let's get started....

Keimlinge/Jungpflanzen stehen unter 2 kleinen E27 LED Lampen und wachsen...
irgendwie.
Leider keine Möglichkeit zu Messen, ob das Licht ausreicht aber auch tierisch Angst,
dass die Pflanzen direkt zu viel Licht abbekommen.
Hoffe es wird...
Bekomme demnächst meine neuen LED Leuchten. Haltet durch!

Seedlings/seedlings are under 2 small E27 LED lamps and are growing...

Unfortunately I have no way of measuring whether the light is sufficient,
but I'm also super worried, that the plants are getting too much light from the start.
Hopefully it will work out somehow...

In der ersten Woche ist nicht viel passiert.
Habe endlich meine Leuchten von nem Freund bekommen, mit denen ich den ganzen Grow durchziehen möchte.
Nach Ihrem langsam Start in der Keimung habe ich meiner PEx. wohl auch noch zu wenig Licht mit den neuen
Leuchten zugemutet... Das Ergebnis ist deutlich sichtbar: Superspargel ist geboren.
Bin dennoch nicht drum herum gekommen irgendwie die Beleuchtungsstärke messen zu können.
Nach weiterer Recherche bin ich auf die Photone App gestoßen... Für das was die kostet ist die laut meiner Recherche
wirklich ziemlich genau und superpraktisch.
Habe nun den Fachboden etwas höher platziert und jetzt kommen gut 550 statt zuvor nur 280 ppfd an.
Pflanze hat nun ordentlich angezogen. Habe ein wenig Angst, dass die mir umknickt und ihr einen kleinen Hügel aus
feuchter Erde gebaut, um sie zu stabilisieren... bis zu den Keimblättern soll die Gute ja ohnehin noch
"nachwurzeln" können. Einen Versuch ists Wert.
Scheint alles funktioniert zu haben... Pflanze entwickelt sich endlich gut.

Not much has happened in the first week.
I finally got my lights from a friend, which I want to use for the whole grow.
After a slow start to germination, I probably didn't give my PEx. enough light with the new lights...
the new lights... The result is clearly visible: super asparagus is born.
Nevertheless, I couldn't avoid measuring the light intensity somehow.
After further research, I came across the Photone app... For what it costs, according to my research it is
really quite accurate and super practical.
I have now placed the shelf a little higher and now a good 550 ppfd are coming in instead of just 280 ppfd before.
The plant has now picked up quite a bit. I'm a little afraid that it will bend over and have built it a little mound of
of moist soil to stabilize it... It's supposed to be able to “re-root” up to the cotyledons anyway.

Everything seems to have worked... The plant is finally developing well.

Habe mir diese Woche mal PH Teststreifen für mein Gießwasser gekauft... natürlich zu hoch.
Also gleich noch nen PH-Downer hinterherbestellt und jetzt ist der PH Wert auf ca. 6.25. - Hoffe das passt jetzt besser.
Werde bald anfangen mit LST. Muss alles innerhalb der kleinen Vitrine funktionieren und möchte eine möglichst kompakte Pflanze...
So, habe mir übrigens inzwischen Spezialfolien besorgt, die nach innen reflektieren und nach außen hin abdunkeln.
Dadurch blendet es weniger und die Pflanzen bekommen nahezu kein Licht von außen ab...
solange das Licht an ist kann man gut reinschauen und abends/nachts, wenn das Licht aus ist sind Sie unsichtbar.
Ja ich weiß, wäre besser wenn gar kein Licht von außen reinkommen würde - gerade abends - aber ich will es dennoch mal so
versuchen... sieht auf jeden Fall aber cool aus. :) Die Rückwandscheibe habe ich übrigens mit einer weißen Folie beklebt... die
obere bleibt erstmal frei damit die Leuchten gut durchstrahlen können.

Plants are finally developing well.
I bought some PH test strips for my irrigation water this week... Too high, of course.
So I immediately ordered a PH-Downer and now the PH value is approx. 6.25 - I hope that's better now.
I will start with LST soon, everything has to work within the small display case and I want a plant that is as compact as possible...
By the way, I've now bought some special film for the windows that reflects inwards and darkens outwards.
This means there is less glare and the plants get almost no light from outside...
As long as the light is on, you can see in and in the evening/night, when the light is off, you are invisible.
Yes, I know, it would be better if no light at all came in from outside - especially in the evening -
but I still want to try it this way... at least it looks cool in any case. :)
By the way, I have covered the rear wall panel with a white film... the upper one remains free so that the lights can shine through.
Habe inzwischen herausgefunden, dass ich es zu Beginn wohl etwas zu gut mit dem Wässern gemeint habe.
Aber abgesehen davon und vom anfänglichen, zu großem Leuchtenabstand läuft es jetzt immer besser...
Die Kleine scheint inzwischen ordentlich gewurzelt zu haben und wächst echt flott.
Das LST steckt sie weg als wäre überhaupt nichts... hoffe das kleine Bäumchen schön breit auffächern zu
können... mal sehen wie weit ich es mit meinem Minigrow hier treiben kann...
Auf jeden Fall scheint das frühe Training den Stamm ganz schön zum wachsen anzuregen.
Der ist inzwischen schon beachtlich breit für Woche 4 finde ich. :)

I have since found out that I probably meant a bit too well with the watering at the beginning.
But apart from that and the fact that the lights were too far apart at the beginning, things are going better and better now...
The little one seems to have rooted properly in the meantime and is growing really quickly.
It is coping with the LST as if it were nothing at all... hope to be able to fan out the little tree nice and wide.
Let's see how far I can push it with my minigrow here...
In any case, the early training seems to have stimulated the trunk to grow quite a bit.
I think it's already quite fat for week 4. :)
Habe mich das erste mal ans entlauben gewagt nachdem ich das Gefühl hatte, das die Erde durch das viele runterbinden der Blätter
und ihre damit tiefe Position immer recht lange feucht bleibt. Naja, erstmal zaghaft begonnen und nachdem die am nächsten Abend
schon wieder ganz schön zugelegt hatte einfach gleich nochmal bisschen mehr rasiert.
So langsam, gegen Ende der Woche, bekommt sie die Form, die ich mir so vorgestellt habe – gleichmäßig flach und breit.
Denke die dürfte bald in die Blüte gehen... ist das schon die Vorblüte?
Hoffe auf eine Mary und keinen Mario. =)
Werde das Tagebuch hier erst auf Blüte stellen, wenn ich mir sicher bin.
Werde den Rest der Woche weg sein und meine zweite, vielversprechende Mimose x Orange Punch Photo in den Garten verfrachten
und mal schauen was die dann so macht. Hoffe meine Pineapple Express Auto nimmt mir das nicht übel, dass sie jetzt allein ist.
Bin schon mal gespannt darauf wie sie aussieht wenn ich wieder zurück bin.

I dared to defoliate for the first time after I had the feeling that the soil remains moist for a long time due to the many leaves being tied down
and their low position, the soil stays moist for quite a long time. Well, I started tentatively and after the next evening
had gained quite a bit of weight again, I simply shaved a bit more.
Slowly, towards the end of the week, she got the shape I had imagined - evenly flat and wide.
I think it should start flowering soon... Is this already the pre-flowering stage?
I'm hoping for a Mary and not a Mario. =)
I'll only set the diary here to flowering when I'm sure.
I'll be away for the rest of the week and take my second, promising Mimosa x Orange Punch Photo out into the garden and see what it does.

Die Blüte ist da... hatte die Tage zuvor schon ne Vermutung, dass alles passt und ist wie bestellt eine Dame geworden.
So langsam gefällt mir meine Baumkrone echt gut... wird ziemlich breit und es entstehen von Tag zu Tag mehr Blüten.
Bin aktuell richtig happy mit meinem Experiment. Das wird was. :)
Bisher kein Extradünger verwendet, da die eine Erde die ich verwendet habe laut Hersteller für 12Wochen vorgedüngt ist.
Denke aber ich werde demnächst die Blütephase mit etwas dünger unterstützten. Habe noch nie mit Dünger
gearbeitet und Angst, dass ich was falsch mache.
Das komische Feuchtigkeitsmessgerät für die Erde fliegt wieder raus. Da misst jeder meiner Wurstfinger genauer als
das Teil! xD
Bin schon gespannt darauf, ob und wie dick die Blüten werden.

The flower is here... I had already suspected the days before that everything would fit and it has become a lady as ordered.
I'm really starting to like the crown of my tree... it's getting quite wide and more and more flowers are appearing every day.
I'm currently really happy with my experiment. It's going to be something. :)
I haven't used any extra fertilizer so far, as the one soil I used is pre-fertilized for 12 weeks according to the manufacturer.
But I think I will support the flowering phase with some fertilizer soon. I've never worked with fertilizer before
and I'm afraid that I'm doing something wrong.
The strange moisture meter for the soil will be thrown out again. Every one of my fat fingers measures more accurately than
that thing! xD
I can't wait to see if and how thick the flowers will be.
Mittlerweile habe ich eine gewisse Routine entwickelt:
Morgens Schrank auf, nachsehen, Fotos machen, nach zu großen Blättern schauen, ggf. abschneiden und dann etwas LST.
Bin nach wie vor überrascht wie gut alles bisher klappt und wie gut meine Dame auf das ganze Training anschlägt.
der Stamm hat für einen 6L Topf inzwischen schon einen beachtlichen Durchmesser Sieht echt cool aus, wie ich finde.
Inzwischen ist es draußen auch schon ziemlich sommerlich... Temperatur ist aber soweit ich das beobachten konnte,
stets unter 30°. Zuletzt hatte die Kleine immer wieder mal an den jungen Blättern so helle Spitzen. Kann nicht genau sagen
woher die zu genau kommen aber sie breiten sich immerhin nicht aus und die meisten erholen sich paar Tage später bzw.
werden die dann wieder normal.
Habe die Woche mal vorsichtig begonnen Blütedünger ins Gieswasser zu geben. Hab Schiss, dass ich zu viel dünge und mir
alles versaue... deshalb nur ganz leicht angemischt und 1 - 2x die Woche rein damit.
Mal sehen was die kommende Woche so passiert... Gehe für 2 Wochen in den Urlaub und hoffe mein Helferlein aus
der Nachbarschaft kümmert sich gute um die Kleine. *props an dieser Stelle nochmal* ;)

I have now developed a certain routine:
Open the cupboard in the morning, have a look, take photos, check for leaves that are too big,
cut them off if necessary and then do some LST.
I'm still surprised at how well everything is going so far and how well my lady is responding to all the training.
the stem has already reached a considerable size for a 6L pot! It looks really cool, I think.
In the meantime, it's already pretty summery outside... But as far as I have been able to observe, the temperature is
always below 30°. Recently, the little one has had light-colored tips on the young leaves from time to time.
I can't say exactly where they come from, but at least they don't spread and most of them recover a few
days later or become normal green again.
This week I carefully started adding flowering fertilizer to the irrigation water. I'm afraid that I'll fertilize too much
and mess everything up... so I only mixed it very lightly and put it in once or twice a week.
Let's see what the coming week has in store.
I will go on vacation soon and hope my neighbor will help me out right.
Letzte Woche vor dem Urlaub.
Wahnsinn wie vorsichtig man ganz zu Beginn gießen muss und wieviel Durst die Kleine inzwischen hat.
Die Woche wieder 2x mit der leichten Düngermischung gegossen und ich finde sie sieht richtig gut aus inzwischen.
Dachte eigentlich ich werde mit dem Projekt hier noch vor dem Urlaub fertig aber hatte einfach nicht damit
gerechnet, dass die Lieferung der Samen so super lange dauern würde... fände es schade, wenn ich die kleine
nicht selber ernten darf und das meine Urlaubsvertretung machen müsste.
Hoffentlich geht alles glatt... wir sehen uns in 2 Wochen wieder persönlich.

Last week before vacation.
It's amazing how carefully you have to water at the very beginning and how thirsty the little one is now.
I watered her twice again this week with the light fertilizer mixture and I think she looks really good now.
I actually thought I would finish the project here before my vacation, but I just didn't expect the delivery
of the seeds to take so long... It would be a shame if I wasn't allowed to harvest the little one myself and
my vacation replacement had to do it.
Hopefully everything will go smoothly... I'll see you again in person in 2 weeks.
Mein Nachbar macht seine Sache wie es scheint sehr gut.
Soweit er mir erzählt hat, gießt er alle 3-4 Tage mit der Düngermischung,
je nach Wetter und Temperatur.
Es ist jetzt ziemlich sommerlich, aber es scheint gut zu funktionieren.
Ich drücke weiterhin die Daumen...

My neighbour is probably doing a very good job.
As far as he has told me, he waters every 3-4 days with the fertilizer mixture,
depending on the weather and temperatures.
It's pretty summery now but it seems to work out well.
I'll keep my fingers crossed...

Meine Sorge sie würde zu früh fertig werden hat sich nicht bestätigt.
Dem von grün nach gelb Verlauf meiner Blätter nach zu Urteilen gehen wir
so langsam in den Herbst der Pflanze über... bin gespannt, wie und ob
sich die Kleine noch groß verändern wird.
Denke ich dünge noch max. 1,5 Wochen und dann gib es nur noch Wasser.
Habe bewusst nicht mehr an Ihr rumgeschnibbelt damit ich sie in ihrer
finalen Phase nicht zu sehr stresse... habe wie immer Angst es noch zu

And... I get to harvest it myself. :)
My concern that it would finish too early has not been confirmed.
Judging by the way my leaves are turning from green to yellow, we are
slowly into the fall of the plant... I'm curious to see how and whether
the little one will change a lot.
I think I'll fertilize it for another 1.5 weeks max. and then just water it.
I have deliberately not nibbled on it any more so that I don't stress it too
much in its final phase... As always, I'm afraid of messing it up. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Läuft und geht dem Ende zu...
die Woche habe ich mal ein paar alternde Blätter weggemacht.
Habe auch zu Düngen aufgehört... Ab jetzt gibt es nur noch Luft, Wasser & Liebe.
Finde die Farben echt super. Wenn die Blüten nur halb so gut das tun, wofür
sie bekannt sind, war es für mich schon ein kleiner, großer Erfolg hier. :)
Denke kommende Woche ist sie fällig...

Running and coming to an end...
This week I removed a few ageing leaves.
I also stopped fertilizing... From now on it's just air, water & love.
I really love the colors. If the flowers only do half as well as they are
known for, it was already a small, great success for me here. :)
I think she's due next week...
Zeit sich zu verabschieden.
Habe viel gelernt und dafür war die PE von Barneys echt perfekt...
Hat selbst durch die Trauermücken zu Beginn, die Überwässerungsfehler an Anfang und
das viele Trimmen und Training sich einfach unbeeindruckt gezeigt und ist stetig gewachsen.
Bin mit meiner Ausbeute mehr als zufrieden und werde die kommenden Tage nochmal
trocken wiegen.
Einzig, dass die Buds ein wenig luftig sind und ich mir noch mehr Geruch gewünscht hätte,
stört mich ein wenig. Geruch zieht an, dürfte aber für meinen Geschmack noch mehr sein.
Habe die Blüten 1 Woche in Kartons getrocknet und inzwischen
in Einmachgläsern mit Boveda Packs und Hygros bei stabilen 61-63%.
Neulich schonmal einen Krümel genascht und der erste Eindruck war, dass es ziemlich redselig
macht. Hat Spaß gemacht. Berichte demnächst noch genauer über Geschmack und Wirkung.

Time to say goodbye.
I learned a lot and the PE from Barneys was really perfect for that...
Even through the fungus gnats at the beginning, the overwatering mistakes at the start
and all the trimming and training, it was simply unimpressed and has grown steadily.
I'm more than satisfied with my yield and will weigh it dry again in the next few days.

The only thing that bothers me a little is that the buds are a little airy and I would have
liked even more smell. The smell is attractive, but should be more for my taste.
I dried the flowers in cardboard boxes for 1 week and have since
in preserving jars with Boveda Packs and Hygros at a stable 61-63%.
I had a crumb the other day and my first impression was that it makes me quite
talkative. It was fun. I'll report on the taste and effect in more detail soon.
