Sorry, no pictures. But basically the same as my other diary #1:
Started 2 seeds in wet paper towel for 2d, then moved to coco jiffy. However, both lost their taproot to fungal infection - probably too moist and/or coco already full of fungal spores. I throw them out and soaked another 2 seeds in warm water for 2d in darkness, then directly transferred to potting soil (taproot: 2-4mm when transplanted).
They are about 1 week apart, plant 2 being the younger one. To keep it simple, will do both in one report. Week count corresponds to the older plant 1.
Startet LST on the older plant. Just bending her down slightly, hoping the lower side branches will become additional main branches so she has 3 in total. Let's see how that works... No nutrients in veg.
I think I will keep the younger one as is, no LST. Just to compare methods.
Plant 1: Although the "3 main branches" thing did not work quite as intended, she took the LST pretty well. I bound down the two lowest branches, hoping to achieve a nice dense canopy on the front. The two most frontal fan leaves had to go as well. Pistils are forming already.
Plant 2: Looks healthy but still a bit small. Plant one got a good post in week 4 to 5 though. I expect this one to go even taller without the LST.
Flowering started week 6.5 on plant 1. The LST result become apparent now. The trained plant 1 has about the same height as 1 week younger plant 2 without training. But it is nicely spreading out the canopy. I enjoy the look!
Plant 1: The front is getting super dense. Love it! Had to remove a few leaves from the bottom branches.
Plant 2: Flowering started. Grew a bit to much towards one site, will turn her around. Canopy is quite airy... I have chosen my favorite!;)
Starting to fertilize now.
Plant 1: 73 cm. Isn't she lovely?
Plant 2: 88 cm.
Clear effect of LST on height. Still, I prefer the more compact one. Also seems to form thicker buds, especially on the top. Magnified images of trichomes and pistils from plant 1, week 8.5.
Plant 1: I didn't like it but had to remove some foliage. The jungle feel is gone but view is clear for some serious buds now. The smell shifted from fine lemon to a strong petrol. She is also getting more sticky.
Plant 2: Looks skinny in comparison. Buds are developing well though.
Plant 1: Bud density increased a bit. Could use another growth spurt;)
Plant 2: The canopy is still quite airy, which is probably a good thing. We are getting a lot of rain lately. However, she may have a nutrient problem. Same as my oldest plant (other diary, #1) she gets a lot of leaf wilt and some leaves are turning purple. If you have suggestions, please let me know. I think she is about 4 weeks away from harvest.
Plant 1: She is doing well. Flowers got a bit bigger. Only a couple leaves going slightly yellow. Pistils still mostly white, trichomes clear.
Plant 2: Quite the boost! Buds are getting thick, sticky and stinky (petrol, pine, spices, lemon). She also got some of that nice purple on the leaves (same as the Forbidden Cherry from my other diary). Some yellowing too. Gave an extra serving of fertilizer.
Dutch Passion states there are 3 phenos in this strain - one with about 10 weeks to finish, the other two 12 - 14w. I may have the quick strain in plant 2, and one of the slower ones in the other. Plant 1 is a week older but has much less brown pistils and mostly clear trichomes. Either the LST slowed her down or it is a different pheno. She also did not get the purple leaves. Aroma similar in both.
Plant 1: Some hardened, yellow ovaries... no seeds luckily. Not sure what is going on. Otherwise she looks okay, maybe ready soon. Some buds have all brown pistils and amber trichomes, others are still fully white.
Plant 2: had some strong thunderstorms she didn't take well. One bud is hanging down but vasculature seems undamaged. Leaf senecence progressing. Need to check trichomes and maybe chop soon.
One week of cold and rain caused troubles.
Plant 2 developed mold inside the main colar. Remove most of it to be on the safe side. The side branch buds look okay.
Plant 1 had a spot that looked like insect infestation. Could've been dirt too, but I removed the whole bud to be safe. Again the other buds looked fine. To reduce risk of mold, I gave another rigurous leaf trim. Trichomes are getting milky. Lets see how many more humid days she can take.
Got two different phenos. Both are quite nice. #1 slightly lower yield, nice cookie dough smell in the jar, strong amnesia style high. #2 bushy growth, more lemon haze aroma, milder uplifting high. Both grew well and had decent resistence outdoors. Can recommend! (Although I wish breeders would select and out-cross more carefully.... we should not have to put up with the pheno roulette for that price!! At least with this strain they were honest upfront.) 9/10
Both made it to harvest.
#1: 122g. Very nice diesel-lemon aroma during drying. Only lemon left after curing. The high is a nice, mild uplift. I dig it.
#2: 73g because I had to sacrifice the top colar. Still a nice harvest. Strong head-high similar to Amnesia strains. Very different aroma. Cookie dough in the curing glass, pine and lemon when smoked.
Guter Report, und sehr geile Ernte !
Dein Gewicht sieht falsch aus, sieht mehr nach Trockengewicht Angaben aus! Wäre sowieso umso besser für dich.
Viel Erfolg beim nächsten grow 👊🌱
