Is that the size of a solo cup? If yes, I would suggest pull it all out and add another inch of moist soil to the bottom, as I believe you are trying to grow a nice, healthy root system for transplanting later on. Just dump it upside down on your hand and add 1 inch, or 5cm or whatever of damp soil into cup, then put back in before the roots get there. Else, be prepared to transplant early, say in one week to her big girl pot.

@experimentGREEN, I have a 4" inline exhaust fan that is always running on a low setting. I have a small stationary fan at the bottom to move air around. It seems the leaves that haven't been effected yet may perk up some after watering but the ones that are curled never recover.

@Wolfjorgensen, hmmm well the leaves perking up is a good sign, that's a great way to tell they want water. The curled ones though, is it just a few, or are you noticing more happening? Because if its only a few older leaves with the claw...maybe they got nutrient damage or something else and just can't recover. I had some leaves that got damaged in veg state and when i noticed they weren't healing i removed them and let the plant grow more.

@Wolfjorgensen, if done right, plants will suffer 0 damage during a transplant. However, I would put them in 3gal pots, not 1gallon.

@BeefWellingtons, Well I just did it and my technique was a bit sloppy. The dirt ball crumbled and the limp root system flopped over the back of my hand. I was able to get it covered quickly. The roots are bigger than I expected so I will probably be moving to a 1 gallon pot in a few days. I just hope it can survive the shock of two transplants on such a short period of time.

To answer your question: Two issues here. The first is transplant shock when you transplanted two weeks ago, it was too soon and so the rootballl could not held the soil together and the roots were damaged. The second issue is some over watering, you are watering until you completely saturate the pot, which in this case is wrong, you need to give it much less water, for now let the soil dry up before watering again and when you do water, give it a cup of water, no more.

Hey so im seeing you transplant into smart pots? So my seedling cup took about 1 week to fully dry and thats a comparable scale (my tiny seedling and pint cup to your 1 gallon air accessible pot and several week old plant. Im definitely leaning towards underwater not over...and perhaps you may have made roots slightly unhappy but they'll correct themselves.
