Girls were both healthy little sad looking but lights just turned on, i made a tough decision today and made a choice of this big girl. I decided i would take one out and put her into a green house. Be a tiny little flowering girl but not wasted.
This girl will be growing alone in the tent from here on out. She will be getting placed into a 5 Gallon Pot this week and top feed 70/30 ratio of 4-4-4 by Gaia and 2-8-4 and worm castings with a dose of Monkey Juice and Molasses .I feel like out of the two this one had the most vigor and resilience. I really want to focus on Scroging her out and having a single plant with a flat even canopy.
Thanks for checking her out ! I may add in some pictures here and there through the weeks of the other girl in the green house.
@ApothecAries, yeah I hear ya man. No I was more asking about how long you normally cure for. I know that some crazy craft growers will cure for 4-6 months. I usually try to go for about three months then just leave it in long term storage. Yeah you’re definitely right that it changes over time. I still have a few jars from a 2021 grow. It’s pretty old now but still very smokable and still hits. The appearance isn’t so hot anymore but meh whatever it all looks the same when it’s been through a grinder bahaha. Once it’s dry I usually start picking at it every so often. A few grams here or there isn’t going to make a huge difference when there’s over 120 grams of it. Plus I’m not the guy who’s relying on that plant to be ready because I’m out of smoke. I know some people in that position and they don’t even give it enough time for the cure and they burn right through it because it’s their only source of weed.
@Papa_T, it could take up to 6 months to get a perfect cure. i notice when i store for long time in jars the profiles do change over time and around 6 months might start degrading. I like to cure for atleast 4 weeks before enjoying the smoke. i find the burn is good and the taste is potent and clean. It really all depends what you did during the hanging phase i assume.
@ApothecAries, ahhhh shit I must not have seen that reply a month ago.
How long do you usually cure for? I’m finding that a three month cure makes it really prime. My Purple Punch wasn’t smelling so great but man after three months it really came around and now it smells absolutely wonderful.
