Hello Community!
I just started germinating my beans, and I’m thrilled to announce that Nuggz R1, spotted as a new release last spring, is finally ready to be seen in action!
Here are the growing conditions:
Lighting: Using 2 sets of ATB-240W LEDs from Bushyard.gr, a new Greek startup collective that has quickly gained a great reputation among local growers. These lights are equipped with the latest Samsung LM301H diodes and are absolutely top-notch!
Nutrients: Primarily using the Remo Nutrients line, and as an extra boost, incorporating Green Planet's Rezin. Laboratory analyses have shown that Rezin can increase THC levels by 2-3%, with some reports suggesting even higher gains. The results will be seen firsthand!
In addition to Rezin, Advanced Nutrients' B-52 will be used for its beneficial B1 vitamins.
Total Nutrient Bottles: Using a total of 9 bottles, and also adding mycorrhizae into the coco medium.
1st of August and the beans have popped, seems like we are having a success rate of 3 out of 4, continuing the nutrients as indicated above and starting the seedling week
Going through week 1 the seedlings will stay on these incubator pots and on week 2 they are getting transplanted to their final 12 litre pots
Temps are somewhere around 28C
The plants have now entered the flowering stage with the 12/12 light cycle and are starting their stretch for the next two weeks!
The fertilization has been adjusted to the flowering recipe.
As a special treat, I’ve taken some stunning photos of the previous nuggz waiting to be harvested — these were planted just before the seeds featured in this journal.
I'm also excited to showcase the incredible performance of the new lighting model from Bushyard.gr, featuring the Samsung LM301H EVO, dimmable up to 500 watts
Stay tuned for more updates and insights
This week the plants are going full on stretch and also cleaned some lowered branches.
Temperatures are finally starting to drop a little bit from 30 to 28C
This week, I encountered a few issues after switching them to 12/12. The plants have shot up to an extreme height, and it feels like things are getting a bit out of hand! I'm trying to manage the situation using some super cropping techniques to control the excessive stretching. Thankfully, as we're now approaching the end of week 3, the plants are starting to focus on bulking up their buds.
As you might notice in one or two photos, a couple of tops touched the panel in the last 24 hours, and I didn't catch it in time. This resulted in a small loss, with part of a top getting a bit scorched. We'll have to wait and see how it recovers.
If anyone has any suggestions on why they've stretched so much, I'd really appreciate the insight!
Catch you all next week!
Unfortunately this attempt went way out of hand when it comes to the stretching of the plants, this new prototype needs some more wattage power in order to service the required energy to be absorbed by the plants in order to not get stretches that reached almost 1.90 per plant inside the tent
Now during this 4th week im starting to realized that we re going to have some real bud weight issues and hopefully the thick branches will hold and lower their total height a little bit , see how it goes
Not scrogging this grow was a big fault of mine
Some tops got burned by the led panel unfortunately i cannot do anything else anymore as the branches have become thick af and now its not able to be trained furthermore
Buds are growing their sizes meanwhile
Feedings are on their maximum quantities
As you can see the situation is now out of control and im abandoning my efforts to even try to train these monsters, we will go until the end with a yolo vibe on this
They are getting bigger buds and heavier, some phenos you can see that are full of crystals and 1 hasnt shown any signs of potency yet
Buds getting their weight and slowly proceeding to the final 2 weeks where i will periodically start giving it pure water for its latest waterings, for the moment they are getting fed in reduced quantinties
They seem to need a couple more weeks at least, but im affraid i will have to start harvesting by the next week will see how they go, the strain seems to require 10 weeks instead of 9 as suggested by the Ethos
The grow cycle is nearing completion, and I’m excited to share the unique results of this round, showcasing four distinct phenotypes. Each phenotype has developed its own character and qualities, giving me a deeper appreciation for the diversity within this batch.
Phenotype #1 has emerged as the standout, boasting exceptional quality in both structure and resilience. This variety sets a high standard, capturing the potential I aimed for at the start of the cycle. As I move through to phenotypes #2 and #3, I see a range of strengths and nuances—each phenotype has something unique to offer, contributing to a broader spectrum of aromas and textures. By the time I reach phenotype #4, I notice a decline in certain qualities, but its character still adds value to the collective exploration.
In terms of fragrance, the differences are equally fascinating. Phenotype #3, in particular, brings an unmistakable fruitiness that brightens the overall profile and offers a refreshing contrast to the earthier and more subtle notes of the other varieties. This batch is a testament to the dynamic potential of each grow cycle, and I’m thrilled to see where these unique traits take me in future rounds.

In my opinion, however, ETHOS Genetics can sometimes raise concerns in cultivation—like what we see in this round—as poor phenotypes are beginning to appear more frequently in their recent genetic offerings. This trend has me cautious, as consistent quality and reliability are crucial for every grower’s success.
