1 for 1. Hotter than Hell. 105 degrees F outside. Survived the first week of 100 plus outside. Trying to get in two grows in this year. Temperatures are supposed to drop starting tomorrow to mid 80's and some possible rain. I'm not counting on rain since my area of life is now on water restrictions and in a four year drought. My garden was a 60 x 10 the past two years, now I'm down to a 10 x 10 and trying to keep that alive.
Wow, what a difference in two weeks. I came back from vacation and this girl was wild. Wasn’t sure she would even survive the wicked weather and storms. When I left it was 103F and stormed heavily every other day for a week. Hail, high winds, torrential rains. Then back to high heat and humidity.
Now that I’m home it’s cooled off to mid 80’s and lower humidity. I did some LST bending on her and trimmed a few smaller leaves. I’m using copper rods wrapped in copper wire as part of an experimental grow using Electroculture techniques. It really surprises me how big and strong this plant grew in twelve days. I’m using the wire from the grounding rods to tie the plant over for low stress growing growing.
Week six and she went into flower stage. No more bending or stress, just going to let her go from here. Days are shorter so my goal is to let her consume as much sun as she can. The forecast is mid 80's to 90's for the next ten days, with slight chances of rain. Getting about nine to ten hours of direct sun daily. Time to start making the natural organic tea with banana and compost to give the flowers the boost they need.
Cleaned out the greenhouse this week. Making room for if /and when the weather changes. I'm guessing she'll finish out in the greenhouse in late October.
High temps in low 100's late last week. Two days of steady rain and mid 70's for the high. I think we survived the hot Summer and now that Fall is officially here so are the lower temps and moisture. I moved her to a new location that has more sun minutes during the day. Trichomes are forming, the flowers are sticky, and they are starting to plump up. Probably at least another four weeks to go. I'm excited because this is the first time in a long time that I have had plants growing this late in the season. These pictures were taken at sunrise , had a little moisture from the fog this morning. Full sun after 10 AM.😁
Still going. No rain still. I am watering from a well as needed. You can probably see how dry my yard is in some of the pictures. Just dry ass dirt. I used to grow photos types and would worry about bud rot this time of year, but not now. Back into the upper 80's and 90's with now rain in site. I'm going to keep pushing this girl until I have to cut her down. The flowers are huge, getting very sticky. I haved moved her into a spot that gets 9 hours of direct sun . Days are getting shorter.
Still no rain, major drought. Watering by hand from the well. These flowers are huge. I expected cooler weather to finish her off. She’s still going. I put her back outside since it’s too hot in the greenhouse. Mid 40’s at night, 80 to 90 daytime.
