Beginning of week 2! Going great! The plant are bouncing back after transplant Mid week update! Day 10.5. the roots are definitely finding all that new soil now. Been watering with tap water. I should probably be pHing this water. Gonna start using fish emulsion and fpj to lower my solution pH cause I know out of the tap municipality is 9+pH so we gotta do something to prevent lockouts in such a small volume of soil. Pheno hunt is rolling along smoothly. Gave the plants their first feeding. Top dressed with coast of Maine lobster compost cut with Stonington blend to give a little aeration. 3:1 ratio coast of Maine plant food 5:2:4. Roughly 1 tbsp per pot. Mixed in with compost and soil and scratched into top 4 inches Watered in with a blend of Neptune harvest liquid fertilizer in ratio 1:2:1 (npk) watered down to 1tsp/gal in this order: Fish: Crab: Kelp The ZB is definitely a shorter stockier plant with short internodal spacing. Originated from very tiny seeds which might explain the smaller plant form at the start. Once it puts in some biomass it might pick up the speed. HP seems to like to stretch a little more. Growing like crazy Rainbow belts looking like the model freak of nature that it is. Near perfect. 18hrs post feed/ top dress and the plants are recovering beautifully. Liquid fertilizer is not ideal as it's expensive and you're paying a lot for water. But for my grow it's very necessary to lower solution pH into something acceptable. Next week I'm hoping to harvest some young plants in a nearby forest to create a brown sugar fermented plant juice in order to get away from the high nutrition of emulsions. Update day 19 Seems that ZB HATES having it's roots dry. Really needs to be watered almost daily to keep it happy. Strange

First day of flower!! Already beginning to see pre flowers before the flip but too small for any real identification. Been using kombucha and humic acid to lower pH without adding nutrients and it's been working. Water schedule has been about once ever 3 days. Each plant takes about .1 gal of water. Need about 2.5 gal to water all 22 plants. Nutrients are still in the 2:1:2 ratio for npk. Adding liquid food every other feeding with recharge in 1/3 recommended dose... The HP3 is looking very beastly. Fat indica leaves. Thick stems. Quick growth. Stem rubs reveal spicy hash flavors. Similar to black pepper. Excited to see how the flowers turn out The rainbow belts has been very easy. They need a lot of water so it's been hard staying ontop of that. Also the 1 gal fabric bag I'm using is much taller than the others so it's hard to water it fully. Ant looks good otherwise. ZB2 is a floppy sativa leaning plant. Kinda spindly. Definitely needs better support and training than I am giving for this pheno hunt. Gonna need a stake to support these for sure. Very thin stems. Short and stocky plants that didn't stretch much even with less than optimal light at the beginning. Maybe perfect candidate for cannbonsai

Beginning of week 2! Flowering is progressing nicely. All plants have been sexed. Ended up being 11:11 female:male. Can't complain Already got some stud males picked out from the hash plants and the Zed blacks. Rainbow belts f3 had one male and 2 female. The females appear to have two smells but identical looking growth. Tall and thin leaves. Little stretch. The male is short and stocky. No stretch at all. I have stopped feeding since I saw slight nitrogen toxicity in several plants. I've marked that they are more sensitive which is something I view positively in a no till living soil situation as long as the flowers can back them up. To control my water pH I am using 12% humic acid and highly fermented kombucha that is practically vinegar. Not great for the overall microbe population in the kombucha but good for lowering a 9+pH solution that comes out of my tap. I am pitching recharge in about .5tsp/gal as well. Plants are looking good. I have noticed that the Zed black is growing better under lower humidities. I have my lights off during the day in order to reduce the humidity load on my plants. At night when humidity spikes I'll rely on the LED light to burn off a lot of the humid air. However if I had watered recently, which is becoming every other day at this point, the humidity with remain high for awhile. I have now added a dehumidifier. It's been helping a lot and ZB is doing better. Update 1.5 week Flowers are stacking. Mostly in the males lol. But the female bracts are starting to swell. Now onto the stem rubs HP: WOW. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. I cannot tell if I hate this with a deep passion or I'm just wanting to grow it out for morbid curiosity. Smells like nail polish remover plus sulfur. I would feel bad giving this to someone because it smells so bad. Had a few that smell more like a freshly opened can of tennis balls that I dig. ZB: very strong pinene smells. Earthy and spicy. Little bit of citrus. Nothing out of the ordinary. Grown many hash plants and this a quintessential example Rainbow belts 3.0: I got a zkittles pheno with classic flavor. Fruit. But with a slight rotten citrus undertone that gives it a little character. Another one is pure pine sol. 100% pine sol. I do honestly love this flavor. Will be using both for seed making. The male is lemon lime candy. Will be pollen source.

Another week of flower behind us. Along with a majority of stretching that these plants will do. For care I have just been continuing to use extremely fermented kombucha and liquid humate to lower water pH. For microbes I'm still pitching recharge every single watering. I'm watering about once every 2 days now. In terms of sterching.... One Zed black stretched like crazyyy as pictured on the left side of the tent. She was always a stretchy plant since veg, which could be seen as valuable. Internodal spacing was not great. Most other ZB were moderate stretchers Hash plants: I would say this was some moderate stretching. Nothing crazy. Rainbow belts 3.0: almost no stretch at all. Especially in the male which is desirable for me.

Beginning of week 4!!! What a glorious week it's been! I had some friend watch my plants when I went away for a weekend. Bad idea. Plants experienced severe drought. I attempted my best and fortunately saved everyone but had some minor damage... I'm incredibly worried about male cannabis pollen entering the tents as some flowers did open up before I had a chance to remove them while I was away. I get them a good washdown with water to hopefully kill and pollen but we shall see what happens. My only saving grace was that all the males were isolated in their own tent with an exhaust fan pointed away from the female tents. Stretch is officially done!!!!. Some kept going for about 3 weeks especially the zed blacks which all stretched like crazy. The hash plants has moderate stretch. Rainbow belts very minimal.

Another week in the sticky dojo.

A few of the zed blacks hermed..spreading pollen into the flower tent. Already seeing some seeds develop. It is what it is. I should have done a better job checking on them. I kept the Zed blacks that only had a couple flowers on the bottom but tossed anything that had flowers growing up the majority of the plant. Some of the most famous strains in the world were self pollinated so I don't have issues with a couple male flowers. They're just trying to improve their fitness as nature intended. The plants are doing very well. A few of the bottom leaves are dying which is normal...senecense! Sucking up those nutrients. I've been liquid feeding using the fish, seaweed, humate and recharge. I have saved the males and they are trying to reveg. Still popping out a few flowers which I'm cutting off. 1 rainbow belt. 1 zed black. 3 hash plants The hash plants are smelling incredible. Definitely a few keepers mixed in here. Maybe 3/7. Hopefully the quality of the flower backs it up. Zed blacks have 2/3 I'm interested in. One is very very low yield. Unless its a really high quality plant I'm gonna toss it Rainbow belts are both smelling ridiculous. Super frosty. Good yield. One is slightly more frosted than the other. The zkittles pheno has pure Skittles smell with a little lemon cleaner chem to back it up. Probably my keeper!

Loud hashy, pepper, sulfur, rotten fruit, lemon, and Skittles terps. The landraces got nice structure, terps and yield but resin is lacking. I think that's normal. Gonna have to cross these a few times till I find something great that is worth it.

Woop de Woop. Easy week

Rainbow belts are down and now it's just the landraces. Zed black is looking to show some toxicities from the flowering feed I use once a week. I definitely think it's an overfeed of nitrogen. In the future I'll keep note. Other than some minor tox the plants are doing great. Some foxtailing is beginning but so far nothing major Hash plants are chugging along perfectly fine. No toxicities or issues. Very easy plants to grow. A few of these are also giving me a really nice yield.

One of the easiest plants I've grown. Smells of marshmallows and blue candy for one pheno and the other is pure lemon cleaner. Almost no stretch in flower. Very little side branching.

Another easy week. I'm heading into autumn so I'm having some temp and humidity fluctuations. Nothing too crazy. Hash plant and Zed black are cruising to the finish. Some hash plants will finish over the next couple days. The Zed blacks are looking like they need 1.5 weeks. Hash plant smelling like diesel, spicy hash, tennis balls Zed black smelling like rotten fruit and lemons. I got about 3 keepers I want to use for breeding. Along with the two rainbow belts it's a nice stock to work with. The males are revenged. I will be transplanting into larger pots and flipping to flower while I reveg the selected flowers after harvest
