Blackberry 3rd Round

Dunk_Junk So, I'm in need of some Indica in my stash 😂 A seed was planted straight into a 20 litre airpot with compost and watered, and waited. Took her a couple of days to break ground but she's made it. She will be growing during my upcoming photoperiod grow, she may well be on 12/12 light at the end. I know it's not good for an auto but I have no other way of growing her. 3rd time growing Fastbuds Blackberry. I don't know if you guys want me to do this diary or not??

Dunk_Junk She's doing her thing this week. A little too far from the lights (1m) because of the Pineapple express. But she's got to deal with it 😋

Dunk_Junk Growing well this week!

Dunk_Junk Week 4 done and in the books. I tried to limit growth of the side shoots during the week by pinching & crushing the stems. I will monitor the effect this has. Last week with her as main focus as there are some photo seeds growing alongside. I will veg them at 20h light hoping this blackberry is done before I have to flip those girls to flower. If this blackberry has to do a week or two on 12/12 so be it I'm afraid.

Dunk_Junk Wow she really jumped up in height this week. She grew 42cm/16.5" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thankfully she's started flowering so hopefully she will slow down in a week or two.

Dunk_Junk Day 42 - She's growing well this week.... Another 30cm!!! I pinched the main bud to stop vertical growth a few days ago because of height constraints. Not sure if this is a good thing just yet...........

Dunk_Junk Day 49 - well her trichomes have sprung up this week! Also only today her leaves have started to turn a TINY bit purple!!! 😍

Dunk_Junk So I'm still looking for purple buds 😂 I think this pheno is not as purple as my last two plants. Shame, the purple is about the prettiest flowers I've grown. Gutted. Anyway, through the week I took a good amount of leaves off her. Not for her benefit, but to allow light down to the lower plants. I don't usually cut this many leaves off at all... but the priority is the lower photoperiod plants. Also her pot is woefully small 😭 She put on some frost over the week. 😍

Dunk_Junk She has developed well over the last week. I've trimmed quite a few leaves (for me) off her to benefit the other plants. I would not usually strip them to the bone like this but needs must. The purple in her flowers is coming out slowly. During the week I backbuilt a few budsites to check how this works and marked their location with black tape.

Dunk_Junk This could be her last week. Flushing now.. She is on 12/12 because of her tent mates. Most trichomes clear but some are cloudy now. Some close up shots for you.

Dunk_Junk Day 77 - Was her last day. To be truthful she wasn't 100% ready going on the trichomes but needs must and the other photoperiod girls need their space now. It's crazy how my own personal ability has changed over the years. Blackberry is a strain I've grown every 12 months roughly, GrowDiaries is a fab place to track your learning. Looking back through my old grows I must have been mad to think they were ready to harvest! Way too early! Maybe that's the biggest thing I've learned - patience. Don't be too eager to chop, there is a lot to be gained extending by 2 or 3 weeks... Anyway, back to this girl. She has been chopped and trimmed. Have a look thru the pics, if you see a piece of black tape on the stem the apex bud on that branch was BACKBUILT. I have to say the technique REALLY does work. Those buds look fatter and denser than the others that have been left natural. It seems effective to be done about halfway through flowering, but no later than 3/4 of the way. FINAL UPDATE: So after 2 weeks in the drying net she weighed out to 87.81g. Not a great deal but she was compromised by the photoperiod plants she shared the tent with. It wasn't the full purple phenotype like I had twice before but still she looks pretty.
