Hi Grow Fam!
Hope you are all well!
It's the first week of the grow, and it's always exciting moment when seedlings emerge from the soil. These early days are crucial! The first 7-14 days are vital for these little ladies. Nurture them like they’re precious. If a seedling gets stunted, it's often best to start over with a new seed, as stunted seedlings take a long time to recover or might even die off.
To prevent issues, watering the right amount to keep the soil moist is essential. Immediate feeding the seedlings at this point could harm the roots rather than help them. Just a pinch of sea salt and mycorrhizae will be plenty to support these seedlings!
Let’s get growing! Stay safe, medicated, and grow with ultra-low-cost techniques!
Hope you enjoy!
[GERMINATION]
Soak seeds in a shot glass for 16 hours. I used to be strict about keeping them in a complete dark and warm place, but now, as long as it's not cold and is somewhat dark, I just leave the shot glass in that area. No more foil or large cups on top of a heat mat, and they germinate just fine.
[SEED PLANTING]
I plant these 16-hour water-soaked seeds directly in soil. Most of the time, seed shells will open and taproots will poke out during the time. Be gentle when planting the seed to avoid damaging the taproot.
[SOIL MIX WITH NUTRIENTS]
- TOP DRESS DRY NUTRIENT: 1 TBSP / GALLON (A LITTLE LESS) - 8/4
I apply Veg Dry Nutrient (Down to Earth - personal mix) as a top dress once the seedling emerges from the soil and then every 2 weeks.
[WATERING - WHEN DRY]
- SEA SALT: 1G / 1 LITER
- GREAT WHITE: A DASH / 1 LITER
[TO CONCLUDE]
I hope everyone can try this method. Sea salt will supply most of the seedlings nutrient needs, and promote the soil microbes.
