If they are Photoeriods the main thing is you want to be giving them aorund 12 hrs of uninterrupted darkness so they can flower, and any light in their dark time can mess them up. this included going into the kitchen for a drink of water, flash lights can mess them up, nightlights or street lamps. Autoflowers don't matter, you can have them under light 24hrs a day and they flower. not advised but it can happen.
