Starting my second grow, first time with coco. Used Fox Farms' Cultivation Nation 70/30 buffered coco and perlite mix. For some reason GrowDiaries doesn't have the General Hydroponics series on their nutrient list, so what I'm using is: (recipe from cocoforcannabis)
4ml/gal Calimagic
1.25ml/gal FloraMicro
.6ml/gal FloraGro
.6ml/gal FloraBloom
Today is technically day 5. Fertigated at 459ec and 6.2pH and will fertigate again later today at ~470ec and 6.1pH. I also harvested the Humboldt Headband Auto from my first diary yesterday, so I probably should update that one as well. Let's get some terps.
I like coco. Plant seems happy. Currently using cocoforcannabis's week 1 veg nutrient schedule at a target EC slowly working up to 1100. Today's fertigation was at 950 EC, pH 5.9.
Waiting until 5th node to LST. Will also be using a scrog net this run. Once pre-flowers show, I'll defoliate as necessary and lollipop. But, as always, getting ahead of myself.
Next week I'll be popping a Creme de la Chem from Mephisto and a sour apple auto from HSC.
My previous grow is currently drying and curing. Humboldt Headband auto from HSC is potent!
Continuing to follow cocoforcannabis.com's feeding schedule using General Hydroponics Floramicro, Floragro, Florabloom, and diamond nectar. Continuing to love coco, still have zero nutrient issues or medium issues. Very happy. Stem already stinks like PPD.
Introduced some LST since I am trying for a more even canopy than my previous grow.
I noticed these white dots on the tips of two bottom fan leaves. There aren't any others and have found no evidence of mites, thrips or other pests. Anyone know what this is? Is it mildew/mold of some kind?
On my PPD auto that just entered flower.
Pistils have come, as has evidence that the pH is a little too high (yellow chlorosis in pic 2). Adjusting fertigation pH to be closer to 5.6.
Also weird uniform white spots on just two tips of a bottom fan leaf. Very odd.
I have performed the last LST of this run.
Switched over to a bloom focused formula from cocoforcannabis.
Plant doing great. Runoff ec still a little high so I'm increasing the fertigation frequency at a lower EC temporarily to address. No big signs from the plant that it's unhappy, fortunately.
Since the nutrients don't show up in growdiaries, listing 'em out here:
(General Hydroponics ml/gal)
Armor SI: 1.5ml
Calmag: 2ml
FloraMicro: 2.5ml
FloraGro: 1ml
FloraBloom: 2.5ml
Koolbloom: 1ml
Floralicious: 1ml
Diamond Nectar: 2.5ml
Shooting for an EC target around 1100, pH'ing for 5.8-9. This is following Cocoforcannabis.com's recommended feeding schedule. Runoff EC has been about ~300 higher than inputs, I'd like to get that down just a bit more. I'm also going to need to dial down the humidity here soon. This has been an extremely easy and vigorous plant to grow. Heavy drinker but a lighter feeder than I expected.
Feed (ml per gal)
1.5ml GH Armor SI
2.5ml CaliMagic
2.25ml FloraMicro
.5ml FloraGro
3ml FloraBloom
1.5ml KoolBloom
1ml Floralicious+
2.5ml Diamond Nectar
pH ranging from 5.6-6.1 based on prior fertigations.
Wishing I had been more aggressively LST'ing her. Despite my best efforts, she still has a main cola that is taller than the rest. The main cola is getting 40-45DLI while the rest are getting 20-30. Ideally would have them all the same height and therefore similar DLI exposure. Oh well. Things starting to smell, but it's still like a mix of slight lemon and then ALL floralicious+. That stuff stinks of earth but it *seems* to be working in my favor.
I've moved a dehumidifier into my lung room and am trying to keep humidity below 60%. In a week or two I'll move that to 55%, then 50%. If HSC is correct in saying that their PPD auto is a 100 day seed to harvest strain, then I'm a little over halfway there. Exciting.
Was late posting this update. Start of week 9 is tomorrow.
Just keeping on. Probably 20-30 days left, probably closer to 30. Smells like rotten grapes and GH floralicious+. Hopefully that smell goes away when I taper that off in last week.
Lovely strain, grew better than I expected. A slightly lighter feed treats her better.
She's fattening up, likely has 2-3 weeks left. Her smell has changed from lemon candy to rotten grape. Not super strong until you smell the buds, then the smell won't go away.
Next up in the 2x2 will be HSC's cali sour diesel auto.
I'm a bit late on updating this, as week ten started last week Thursday.
She's slowing down considerably and her terpene profile is expanding beyond just rotting grapes. Hard to put into words. Definitely getting thick but my uneven canopy is causing the main cola to thicken more than the rest. I need to be much less lazy with LST in my future grows.
Hitting with the same feeding schedule as prior weeks, though I'm trying out "Ripen" from GH. Starting in about 4 days I will begin flushing with a 25% strength feed until runoff EC is at the low end where I want it. Plan is to chop in 8 days, as the triches are starting to cloud up and this tent is about to get used by a dream queen photoperiod that is currently in the tent I will use to dry this PPD.
Forgot to post the harvest write-up.
She was super easy to grow. Like most autos, she was more sensitive than I'm used to to nutrients.
After a 10 day dry and 4 week cure:
Smell: very grape, very floral. Like grape potpourri. A unique and strong, pleasant smell.
Taste: earthy. Smell didn't transfer to taste, but that might also be on me.
Effects: The best way to describe the effects for me would be to say that this is a good social party weed that leans indica. There isn't any fatigue at all. But there is definitely a chill-out effect that is also very happy and anxiety reducing. I can also attest to it's tongue-in-cheek name and arousal effects. It has definitely dropped some.
Potency: 7.5/10. Not too strong but not weak either. I'm done with autos for now but would easily recommend this to anyone who's interested.
Final dry yield was 2.5oz. about 1oz of solid nuggets, another oz of nugs but looser, and .5 oz of larf.
I have no idea what mildew looks like when its that small but I'll bet its not mildew with that plant at that stage, health and environment. How did you spot that...Its probably nothing more than a little leaf damage if its from one of the older leaves. I certainly wouldn't get stressed about it.If it did tern out to be something its nothing that can't be sorted I'm sure.
@oldskoolkool, whenever I make and update to any of my grow diaries. I'll do a full plant lookover just to make sure I'm not missing anything. I noticed these spots just a bit ago and it didn't match any pictures I was finding on Google. Everything took me to mildew or pests but there's no evidence of either. I'd agree it's leaf damage but wanted to be sure. Third grow ever, first with Coco so I'm taking no precautions. I appreciate your effort, thank you very much
This was from start to finish a great documentation of this strain. I think this one will definitely be in my next run. Thanks for all this information!
