First Time Grow - Obiwan Kush - 1 Plant

Day #1 I started to germinate my Obi Wan Kush seed. As a beginner grower i decided to only opt for 1 plant in my 2 x 2. Given the limited space and beginner light I decided this was the best option for my first grow. To keep my seed warm I opted to use a sunny south facing windowsill to keep the seedling warm as all of my appliances run cold to the touch. When I ordered my seeds from True North Seeds I was also given some free swag from Canuck seeds and True North Seeds that included 3 x 2-Sour Kosher FEM seeds, 2 x True North Rolling papers, 1 x 3 Complimentary GG#4 seeds (Canuck Seeds), and 1 x 3 Coco Melon FEM seeds (Canuck Seeds). I have yet to pick my medium for growing but plan on picking that out this weekend, I'm still deciding between mixing my own with Coco Coir or going with a regular pre-mix. I'll post another update once I have my soil and grow set-up in place! Day #2 Set up my Spiderfarmer 2x2 tent kit with SF1000D. Honestly, the set up process went quite smoothly and the tent was fairly easy to get set up. My seed has not broken out with a taproot quite yet, but when looking closely I can tell it's on the way. I picked up some Pro-Mix as the base and will add in additional perlite for oxygen. I attempted to find worm castings and other ingredients so I could opt for creating my own soil but they were too far out of my budget for this grow. Day #3 was a much busier day for the grow as I set up my pots for eventual transplant. I mixed in some additional perlite to my Pro-Mix organic soil. No nutrients have been added to the soil at this time but will be added in the future. As I had some spare time I pre-tested my water for PH and set it aside in Mason jars for later. Funnily enough my Brita water filter spits out water at 6.47 consistently so I ran the water through that as my tap water comes at above 7. I also opted to pre-soak my soil in the 5 gallon pot thoroughly to help get the nutrients started a few days before transplant. I purposely watered it to also test the runoff for PH coming in at a solid 6.38, in my ideal range of 6 - 6.50. With my seedling showing signs of successful germination I opted to move it early into the seed starter tray that came with my spider farmer kit. This allows me to keep the humidity higher as I don't plan to use another smaller grow pot after the seed starter tray. Well that's Day#3 for me! I don't plan on continuing daily updates each week but I just love working with germination, something about it fascinates me so much! Have a great Saturday my Grow Buddies! UPDATE: Unfortunately my first seed did not germinate, although it looked like it cracked open it never grew beyond that. My second seed was a dud and never grew, so I'm on to a third seed now from my 7 seed pack. I've switched to soaking the seeds in water and then will plant directly into soil. I'll update once I can get out of germination week and see a seedling! UPDATE 2: Seed has a taproot! (pictured above) I moved the seedling into soil for the rest of the grow. Given the difficulty I have had maintaining growth I did not want to worry about transplanting again. Hopefully the seedling enjoys it's new home. Temprature seems to be in line and a plastic container has been placed over it for humidity retention. Update #3: My 3rd seed has taken root! After a few days being in soil she sprouted and is looking healthy so far. I'm not too sure what official day we are on due to the seedling issues but I will call this next Monday Start of week #1.
