gr3g4l Hello and welcome to anyone who happens to come in here and read me.
I'm starting a new grow of a strain that always brings me good memories. I've been looking for that haze flavor from the Jack, growing copies from other banks, and honestly, it's been tough. I understand that by growing these from Sensi, I will at least get closer to that flavor; if not, I might consider growing regulars.
Germination system: Osmosis water and in they go.
It's mid-August and it's still pretty hot all over the house, so I looked for the darkest and coolest spot to see what comes out. 24ºC
After 24 hours, 4 out of 5 had the tip of the radicle showing.
After 76 hours, I decided to move them to a paper towel to let them finish sprouting a bit more before transferring them to substrate.

gr3g4l Out of 5, it seems that only 3 are going to make it, and one of them has turned out special. I'm afraid it's going to be a long grow.
To help with proper root pruning, I thought a cooling rack could be useful. With this, I lift the pot off the ground, and the roots that remain at the bottom, in the soil, will be pruned just like the rest.
On the fourth day, I can see more clearly that the two that are struggling to come up will be discarded. I'll focus on the three that sprouted, giving them more growth time to fill the space, more time and 11L pots.

gr3g4l This week I'm still not sure how this grow will go, I don't know whether to go for apical prunings or to bend the trunk.
Plant #1, unlike what I thought, seems to be growing at the same pace as the other two, I would even say a bit faster.
On day 12, I did the first apical pruning and pruned the first nodes, the ones with a single leaf and also the cotyledons.
TRANSPLANT
On day 14, I transplanted to an 11L fabric pot, changed the grow tent, switched the lighting, and increased the wattage to 150W. For the first few days, then later 200W, and in flowering 300W.

gr3g4l This week they start showing a very nice state and enjoy a new humidifier.
First checks of temperature and humidity with the humidifier at minimum, as can be seen in the photo from the day before, day 15, it has barely consumed any water so we will increase the flow and time on the analog timer. This will also raise the humidity a bit more without so many highs and lows.
After about 5 days I pruned again, leaving only one node per plant and a bend of little branches.
At 21 days I pruned again from the first node of each branch, leaves, and buds.

gr3g4l New topping of the apicals and one of silicon.
At 26 days, fed up with the weights, I got rid of them and they'll keep growing just like that. I don't plan to do much more, later on we might bend a branch to guide it and remove some suckers.
At 26 days, the Lumatek power was also raised to 75%. About 220 W. approx. and they'll stay like this until the photoperiod changes.

gr3g4l the week starts with the pruning of fan leaves.
and ends with bending branches.
The nº1 that sprouted three branches per node is going solo, it's struggling to grow and I have to keep pruning and bending as it grows.
The nº2 and nº3 both finish the week ready to take off.

gr3g4l This week we continued bending and pruning a few branches. Apparently, the number 1, the Triploid (three branches at the same node), which became diploid (two branches at the same node) after pruning the first apical, seems to have reverted back to Triploid, and this could complicate the other two branches that are more advanced, so I decided to cut it and keep it diploid.
At 40 days, I pruned the second nodes of each branch again, leaving them ready to transition to flowering in a couple or three days. Plus, I secured the branches to the pots to start getting rid of the benders, as they are getting small.
At 41 days, I decided to change the position of number 2 and put it in the place of number 1, the triploid.
Number 2 is growing a bit more vigorously than the other two, and number 1 seems to be staying a bit smaller. Number 3 would be an intermediate.

gr3g4l This week they showed their first pistils.
I take advantage of the increased humidity outside and the fact that they showed the pistils to remove the humidifier; now it bothers me inside the cabinet lol
We're still bending some branches.

gr3g4l A calm week with few changes. A final trimming of a few fan leaves was done and that's about it.
This week, around the middle, it started to show the trichomes clearly; until then, it was hard to see them.

gr3g4l Calm week, the only thing I notice is how some of the pistils or stigmas are starting to brown - The buds keep fattening up.
I've been dealing with a bit of over-fertilization for a couple of weeks now, some burnt tips, and I don't want it to get worse, so I'll keep feeding gently without going overboard with the EC.
One of them seems to be particularly affected by the amount of light and shows signs of albinism.

gr3g4l A quiet week, nothing more.
It might just be me, but I'm not seeing much trichome development, rather little. Maybe I didn't use Delta9 in this grow, and it's noticeable. They still have about a month left, so it might improve lol.
Buds as hard as rocks. Some branches are already starting to droop under the weight of the buds.

gr3g4l This week it was necessary to put some stakes to support the weight of some buds. Also this week, the seventh at 12/12h, I'm starting to see the formation of Foxtails in number 2.
gr3g4l watering week and nothing more.
I love growing at this time of year. It's true that the electricity cost is higher with the heaters, but I save on treatments and the work that pests like spider mites, thrips, flies, etc. bring. This grow only requires one Solabiol as a preventive during the growth stage. It's great.

gr3g4l With 64 days and looking at the state of the trichomes, I would say I'm going to start watering with just water, about 3 more times, where I'll add two of citric acid for one of ascorbic acid.
And in 7-10 days, I'll harvest.

gr3g4l This week at 73 days of flowering, I decided it was time to harvest them. I couldn't let more days go by since there was a high risk of botrytis, and the trichomes were already quite mature, maybe even too much.
I had never encountered Jack strains with such fox tailing, but they smell heavenly.
Until the very last day, they were always inside the cabinet, and possibly because of the extraction, I couldn't perceive the pleasant smell they emit, which is intense. A bit earthier than I thought.
Buds as hard as rocks, a bit exaggerated.
At 74 days, they're in the drying room, with an 80w heater plus a couple of fans with indirect ventilation, extraction, and passive intake.
gr3g4l Still drying, I'll comment a bit more later. Sorry for the inconvenience xd.
After 15 days of drying, still needing a few more days to dry and clean up the little twigs and leaves.....406 g in total.
With 32 days of drying, it's already crunchy and ready to smoke, 384 g.
After several tastings, I still can't define the flavor. It should be an incense flavor with earthy notes, but right now I don't perceive any special flavor. I understand that I need to let it cure for a few days, and we'll see what it turns out to be.
@TagoMago, hey TagoMago, what can I say? The truth is it doesn't smell much, rather a little. I haven't stopped to smell it yet, but when I've gone to water them, I haven't noticed a strong smell like with other strains.
Wow a little beauty and wild with 3 cotyledons I've NEVER seen before :-0. Is it a special strain? And an impressively good picture deserves a top 3 spot 💯 percent. 😉 Best regards Nicogreen 💚 😇 😉 👌 💪 😇 🇩🇰 💚
Good luck with the grow!
Maybe one day I'll get into it too. I've been looking for something that resembles the JH I knew from the early 00s, and I just can't find it. It's great to see that you've had such a good response to germination; a while back I tried with 3 NL5 x Haze looking for that incense smell, and I wasn't so lucky. Only 2 germinated and with very little vitality while other genetics did well.
Cheers!
@TagoMago, Good morning, totally TagoMago, it seems complicated to find that flavor.
No idea yet which ones will end up germinating. After a long time trying to save some, in the end, I had to fill it up however I could and put 5 just like that. I'll let you know in a couple of days.
Cheers
@TagoMago, good afternoon TagoMago, look at that, after 24 hours 4 of them have popped out, tomorrow I hope to see the fifth and I'll move them to a paper towel.
cheers
@TagoMago, Good morning, Now it’s really happening 5/5. 48 hours were enough for them to germinate, at least to show the tip of the radicle, something is something. Now let's cross our fingers and hope they don’t do anything silly and leave one behind, but if in the end I’m left with 4, that’s fine by me, I’ll have less work. xd
@gr3g4l I noticed a photo of your three-leafed seedling in the photo of the month contest, purely by chance.
A sour dies auto I popped just a few days ago shows the same trait — I would appreciate it if you could share your experience growing plants with this type of mutation!
Have a great day
@tangie, good morning Tangie. I have little experience, but I can tell you that it disrupts the growth. It grows well but at a different pace. Keep an eye on my diary, and you'll see what I mean. At first, three came out, but after doing an apical trim, it seems like they stopped producing three, and now only two are coming out per node.
Have a good day!
