DAY 44 - 9/28/24 - Plants drinking heavy. No defoliating today. No rotation, light spreading the tops.
FEED: added to res: Water 5 gal, CS RC 1.5, Silica 15ml, Kelp 20ml, Cal/Mag 25ml, Bloom A 25.5g, Bloom B 13g

DAY 45 - 9/29/24 - Big defoliation today. Rotated the plants, spreaded some stalks, adjusted light appropriately. I damaged some small bud site by accident. Im not worried. This should only strengthen the others. I noticed some orange spots on the upper leaves the past few days. Not sure if light issue or nute change issue.

DAY 46 - 9/30/24 - In the late afternoon I replaced the 40 inch tower fan with a 9 inch AC infinity Cloudray S9. Removed a handful of leaves, lightly spread stalks, moved probe into front right plant.

DAY 47 - 10/1/24 - I notice the feed has slowed considerably. Possibly my light is better positioned? Possibly a problem I don’t know about? It does not seem that the feed has stopped in any way, but still this is something I want to investigate, and I will not be able to do so for about 6 days. I am preparing the environment for me to be gone for the next 6 days. 10/2-10/7. I am a bit worried that the feed res will run out. I am also worried about switching up the fan so close to leaving town. Surely this seems stupid, right?
Here’s my thought process. If I can get the light right, and I can get the feed full, and I can get the humidity and temp to where I am not wasting water to environment attributes, the feed will last longer thru my trip, the temp and humidity values will be more stable, and it should produce a better environment throughout my absence.
However, if even one of these things is off, my plan is busted from the get go. I am working to dial my numbers in, switch up positions slightly, and I am also messing with the port setup on my controller. See below for changes to my setup going forward.
Port 1: 8 Inch inline Fan
Port 2: Light
Port 3: UIS Splitter - Fans (1 x Cloudray S9, 2 x Cloudray S6)
Port 4: 6 Inch Inline Fan
S9 in back left corner, S6s in front left and back right corner, 27 inch tower fan in front right corner. All fans are below the canopy, pointed up. I am going back to the best practices in theory as I change out this fan and update my setup. In front of the vent with the vornado fan. Dehumidifier is near grow room door, set to auto 45.
I do not love having both the S6s and the S9 on one port. I would like the S6s at 10, and the S9 at about 8, but this is just a theory. Maybe it will be fine. I want my temps down and my humidity up just a smidge. The environment is stabilizing right now. (12PM) I will check the probe position and levels in about an hour or two. Day temps for today are going to be much higher than I would have liked.
Ok the temp, humidity level issue, was an autopot issue. I rebalanced the lines, and I believe water is coming thru adequately now. I will recheck in about half an hour where the water is at in the res. It is very important to monitor the height of the lines as this ia a gravity fed system.
I plan on reducing the kelp down to 3 ml/gal and upping the Run Clean to 0.4ml going forward.
I messed up my concentration. Instead of adding the packs to 128 oz of water (1 gal), I mixed each into 162 ml. Because of this I plan on feed 37ml per gallon instead of 30 ml. My updated current feed mix, including the adjusted concentration numbers are as follows.
This makes my current proposed feed mix ratio for the week:
1 Gal:
Run Clean: 0.4ml
Silica: 3ml
Kelp: 3ml
Cal/Mag: 5ml
CropSalt A: 5.1g OR 37ml
CropSalt B: 2.6g OR 37ml

DAY 48 - 10/2/24 - Plants looking good, water should be flowing properly. I tried to fix up the autopot ducting as best I could. I really hope if is fine. But I will not have a look for the next 5-6 days. I filled the tank to the top with feed (about 12 gals total) and left. Will record averages, but will otherwise have no data. I will attempt to determine the health of the plants by humidity.
FEED:
12 Gal:
Run Clean: 4.8 ml
Silica: 36 ml
Kelp: 36 ml
Cal/Mag: 60 ml
CropSalt A: 61.2g OR 444ml
CropSalt B: 31.2g OR 444ml
