Germination

This is a Grow Peaceful Grow Bucket. It's a 4-gallon bucket that comes with pre-amended soil and an autoflower seed of your choice. It's advertised as a "Just Add Water" kinda thing ................... we'll see ............... Although they didn't have a huge seed selection when I bought mine, they do have some well-known auto strains available. In 5 days the seed went from in the package to breaking ground. Began germination on 8/18/24. The seed popped and planted on 8/19 24. A very small part of the reticle was visible. and was planted in moist soil. Seed broke ground on 8/23/24. The first three days of growth have been added to the germination week 0. Week one will start on Mon 8/26/24.

Began the week with a DLI of 14 which gradually increased to 20 by the end of the week. Average temp and humidity fell a bit short of the target for the week. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Target Temp: 80°F Target RH%: 76% Target VPD: .9 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Actual Average Temp: 76.3 Actual Average RH%: 70 Actual Average VPD: 0.9 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Also, the pic shows 3 extra days of growth from the germination week. So week 1 actually had 10 days of growth.

Started the week on day 18 with a DLI of 32 , steadily increasing to 40 by end of the week. Also, I made the decision to top it between the fourth and fifth nodes. I'm aware that the conventional wisdom says that its best to do LST rather than HST on Autos, but I think that is mostly due to a timing concern. In this case I believed I had a couple weeks before pre-flower, and there was sufficient room between the fourth and fifth nodes to do a clean topping, and the plant looked healthy. We'll see how it goes. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Target Temp: 80°f - 85°f Target RH: 72% - 80% Target VPD: 0.8 – 1.1 Actual Average Temp – 78.7° Actual Average RH - 71.8% Actual Average VPD - .95 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Started the week with a DLI of 40, steadily increasing to 45 by the end of the week. Lower fan leaves showing signs of a nitrogen defiency. I dont know if its normal to see these signs this early in the cycle for an Autoflower or not. I gave it a light Nitrogen boost with Fox Farm Tiger Bloom at 1/4 strength. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Target Temp - 83° Target RH - 71% Target VPD - 1.2 Actual Average Temp - 80.2°f Actual Average RH 65.07% Actual Average VPD 1.22 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The plant appears to be having a nitrogen defiency. I dont believe it is over or under watering. I do not know the soil PH, mbut i have been careful to adjust the water to 6.5. Its growing in soil. My question is ... is it normal to see a nitrogen defiency this early?

Hello mate, first of all a nitrogen defiency is never normal :) but i think this isn't the case. This should not be an over waterng but be careful with the water, i see in your diary that you give 0.8L per 24H meaby is a little bit high. I think it could be a pH fluctuation and consequentially a problem with the nutrients. Good luck and happy journey!

Your soil is 4 weeks old and probably depleted of nutrition. Start adding a Bloom feed. Make sure you get runoff.

Not a good week. About a week ago the plant was showing signs of a nitrogen deficiency. Turns out, my run-off water was at 5.2ph. i flushed it with 4gal of 7ph water. (that did not remedy the situation) today i flushed it again with 12gal of 7ph water and 1 gal of 6.5ph with 1/4 tsp fox farm bud nutes. The waterlogged roots may kill the plant. but, it was dying anyways, so i thought id try a more substantial flush. also ... the watering log does not reflect the 13 gallon flush. target temp: 78°f target RH: 63% Target VPD: 1.35 Actual average temp: 79.45°f Actual Average RH: 59.9% Actual Average VPD: 1.37 DLI: 45

started the week with a problem. I was watering with 1 gallon 6.5ph water but getting 5.2ph run-off. This seemed problematic to me as i had understood that a PH of 6.5 at the root zone was essential for the plant to uptake nutrients. i fed the plant with 1 gallon 8ph water in an attempt to lower the PH. (this gallon was not accounted for in the watering log) I was later told not to worry about the run-off as the soil would take care of the ph. So, some of the leaves seem to be showing signs of fluctuating ph, understandably. The growth this week haqs been nearly none, however, in the past couple of days i do seem to see a very slight fattening of the bud sites, but its very small. My plan is to water with 6.5 water till the end and to ignore the run-off ph, I guess i should mention that this is a "Just Add Water" bucket i bought off the internet. I have no idea of what nutrtients are in the bucket organic or synthetic ( but i did see those little time released green dot fertilizer balls

Newer sugar leaves look healthy with a little frost. I cut back on the water this week as the previous couple of weeks it got too much water in efforts to lower the run-off PH. (which never did come up from 5.4 or so.) May have smokeable buds in 3 weeks or so ... we'll see

Still just saw a couple of almost light Amber ones on entire plant, so its got a little bit to go. Judging from the amount of milky ones, i may harvest with just a very few amber ones, possibly some day in the coming week. I dont have an air conditioner in grow room, so my temps are quite a bit higher than i would have liked this week. With ths higher temp, i kept the humidity a bit higher also. The coming week is going to be cooler, so, i may be able to open the window to the grow room and let some cooler air in

This grow had its difficulties. I thought it was having a nutrient deficiency around flower time. (it was grown in a pre-loaded nutrient, Grow Peaceful 4 gallon bucket.) Turns out i was having a PH problem in the soil causing the PH to go above 8. I flushed it and that may not have been the smartest thing to do. The plant could have been a little bigger. But i have tried a bud and the smell is nice, its a nice "head" high. needs to cure a while, but im happy with it considering. I may try another couple of buckets in the future. However, i am trying the Gorilla Cookies from 420 FastBuds with my own soil and dry ammendments for the next grow.
