Started soaking 6 days ago and within 24 hours they had germinated and were planted in Promix BX. They will stay in the tent until the main closet becomes available when the current grow of NYC Sour Diesel is harvested. Have started them off in 4 inch pots but will up pot to 7 gallon grow bags eventually.

Seedlings are looking good and not getting leggy with just a quarter inch or so of height increase. Have a small fan under the humidity dome with them that keeps them moving gently. Running the fan both day and night but do turn it off occasionally to give them a break for a few hours. Gave them their first mild dose of nutrients on day 14. Pure Blend Pro Grow at 2ml per liter.

End of third week and both plants look very healthy and very compact. Moistened the pro-mix and filled the growbags and gave it a few days for the lime to react. Would have waited a bit longer to transplant but I checked one of the pots and saw they were starting to get pot bound. When I went to turn off the bloom portion of the LED lamp to reduce the intensity until they have a chance to get over any transplant shock I discovered only the grow portion was on already. Don't remember doing that on purpose so I don't know how long they were getting 200 watts instead of 400. They are getting on average about 40 ml of nutrient solution per day but I am only applying it every second day.

Starting to see an above ground growth spurt. While they only increased just over an inch in height this past week, they look much fuller. Added the humidifier to keep the humidity up without the dome. Gave the pots 2 liters of nutrient solution each a couple of days after transplanting and waiting until the surface of the pro-mix to dry before adding more.

This week the plants were moved from the tent under the LEDs to the main closet under 600 watts of MH. The grow bags and plants were put into a bin that is placed on a SCrog cart that can be wheeled into and out of the closet. Hoping that being able to spin the cart around to make working on both sides easier. That was the biggest con I had doing a SCrog with a permanent built in screen for a previous SCrog. My second con was using chicken wire and that is why you will see string for this screen. The Bubba Kush is showing a little bit of margin curl but the OG Kush has none. Showed up in the tent under the LEDs even with good humidity so the lights were kept at 200 watts. The next watering was a weak nutrient solution in case the recommendations on nutrient strength was too much for the Kush. After the move the HID was placed 36 inches high for a couple of days before being lowered to 27. Topped both plants on day 32 after the 6th pair of nodes. Removed lowest pair of branches and left the rest for now. The pro-mix in the grow bags has settled at least an inch so next time I will fill the bags with moist mix at least two weeks before transplanting and maybe fill them to the top without leaving space for a layer of hydroton I plan on adding for mulch. The space I need will appear after a couple of waterings .

Plants bushed out this past week and today the plants got their stems and branches softened by my fingers rolling them back and forth bending to and fro. Didn't feel any snap like I've heard described but they seemed soft enough to stay bent over under the strings. Screen was placed over the plants and the first tucking was carried out. Had some bamboo skewers laying in the shelf so I took a handful and wove them into the string net to give extra support at key points. Plan on moving them around as the plants grow into the screen. Air in our house is very dry and 40% was as high as the humidifier kept it in the cabinet. Leaf curl has vanished with no permanent damage to the leaves affected. Had watered last time with very dilute dose of nutrients. Plants are using about a liter a day and get 4 liters every forth day. Just a bit of run off last watering so will give them 5 or 6 liters each next time

Raised humidity levels by turning off the extraction fan. Leaving closet blind open more so heat and humidity mixes with the air in the larger room and doesn't build up. Have been tucking and training all week and will let them veg for one more week before I flip them into 12/12. Have trimmed the lower side shoots below the canopy but so far have left the larger fan leaves on even though they are pretty much shaded.

Constant tucking....good thing I am retired. I am always checking the grow room multiple times during the day and it does give me something to fuss about. Sometimes though, it is best to leave well enough alone as I did snap one of the main branches. Wrapped a piece of tape around it and left it alone for a couple of days. Only had to snip off one fan leaf that wilted but other than that it seems to be growing well. On day 52 I decided to change the MH bulb for the HPS and changed the time to 12/12. Trimmed fair bit of growth underneath the canopy. Large fan leaves above the screen got half the leaf trimmed if it was shading a shoot.

Lots of tucking and trimming growth under the screen. The 9th day of flowering was the last day for tucking. Will see later if that was too soon to stop. From now on the height I report above is the height above the screen which is currently 4.5 inches. Previously I was using the height above the soil level (12in) and it had not been changing as growth was being trained horizontally.

After two weeks of stretch I think in a future Scrog I would flip into 12/12 a little earlier, maybe when screen is 3/4 full. Would also tuck a few more days into flowering. Current grow is developing areas of uneven growth. Taller shoots are 8 inches high with a week of stretch to go. There are other areas where the tips are 4 to 5 inches. Removed a lot of tiny buds from under the screen. There are also many small buds above the screen but located under the canopy so they probably won't amount to much as they are shaded. Will leave them for now but may do further pruning later.

Continuing to thin undergrowth and popcorn buds from below and from above as leaves yellow. Described odour as weak a week ago as I thought I smelled something but can't smell anything now so have gone back to saying no odour. Can't usually smell grows in the closet anyway as I have very good air flow into the room and extracted outside. Normally it is out on the back deck where any smell would be detected and with most grows I don't notice anything until week 6 of flowering. Stopped using the humidifier in the closet and let the air drop to 30%. Still running humidifiers out in the living and bedroom areas of the house.

Routinely going over the Scrog trimming small buds as they catch my attention. Am able to work under the screen laying on my back. Very comfortable to work and the three inch spacing in the screen allows me to reach up and snip growth above the screen that obviously will never amount to anything. Many of the large fan leaves that were shaded and turning yellow are now gone allowing better air circulation and more light penetrating to the screen level. Love being able to rotate the Scrog to get at all sides and do so daily. Added a second fan to the setup to move the air under the Scrog. It is a small USB fan I use when drying the harvest and added it since it wasn't in use right now.

Noticing a few leaves on the Bubba Kush exhibiting some pale leaves in the middle and upper areas whereas the OG Kush are still a darker green. Both get the same nutrients and share the same conditions. Maybe the Bubba is a bit more sensitive to the dry air as one pale leaf feels a little brittle. Couple of leaves on the OGKush have yellow spotting appearing. Will maintain current nutrient levels for the time being including Cal-Mag unless the spotting gets worse

The Bubba Kush continues to be yellower than the OG Kush but the breeders information on the strains have the Bubba finishing earlier after 56 days while the OG Kush goes to 63 days. Based on this, today is the last day the Bubba will get nutrients and after this water only. The OGK will get at least one more feeding before water only. Plucked some male flowers that appeared on both plants. Only six pods seen and no new ones appeared afterwards. Fair amount of small buds visible at screen level. Letting these ones develop and not plucking them anymore. Even though they are shaded they appear larger than normal popcorn buds found at the bottom of plants grown indoors.

Giving them both plain water ph'd to 6.0 for the rest of the time until harvest. The yellowing of the leaves on the Bubba Kush turned out to be normal maturing. Didn't expect it with the amount of nitrogen they were getting but I read the breeder's description again and it mentioned they have lime coloured buds.

The OG Kush is ready for harvest. The Bubba Kush has one more week to go. Plan on harvesting the larger buds first and then giving the undergrowth a few more days under the lights. Also intend on reducing the ballast to 75% output.

Was away for a couple of weeks. Cut the larger buds at the top of the canopy before I left and let the lower smaller buds continue to develop until I got back. I grew two separate strains but I can't figure out how to report them separately so the numbers given above are for both plants. The OGKush was the bigger of the two and produced 270 grams of dry manicured bud. The CBD Bubba Kush produced just half the yield at 130 grams. Happy with the overall yield of 400 grams.
