Purple Haze (Seedsupreme)

8/10/24 AAAAAAND we're off- welcome to Week 1, germinated seeds planted 2 days ago have sprouted. - 1 of 2 seeds germinated, the other is in a pot, but I don't have much hope for it to do anything. - Tent conditions are 72 degrees F and around 70% humidity - Lights are 24" from the plant and measuring 250 PPFD at top of plant - Humidity domes are in place - Watered with 100 ml of 6.0 pH water and 5 ml/gal Cal Mag - Once the first set of true leaves comes in, will start giving nutrients 8/15/24 Not much happening, just keeping the babies alive. The first couple of weeks are always a bit dull ;) - Second set of true leaves coming in - Starting to feed and water more to be able to measure runoff - Runoff pH low and PPM high, that's always the way as the new coco is getting buffered and the roots are starting to fill in, so not concerned at this point - Watering every day with water in around 6.4 pH as the coco buffers and roots develop

9/17/24 Ah Week 2, things are picking up but still a bit dull (in a good way 😊). - Second set of full leaves is coming in - Growth continues, things look stable so far - Watering daily with 150 ml of water to get runoff and keep coco moist - Alternating 2 days of plain water with 1 day of feeding until more growth is established - Runoff pH and PPM at 5.7 and 1280 respectively, coco is still buffering and stabilizing - Tent conditions stable 9/19/24 - Third set of leaves starting to come in - Main stem straightening out, plant up to 2" - Leaves look green and healthy - Roots appearing at the bottom of the cup - Runoff pH and PPM at 5.9 and 1070 - Light PPFD measured at plant top is 450 - Tent conditions stable 9/22/24 - Everything looking good - Was going to transplant, but need more coco! Will transplant later this week when it arrives - Fourth set of leaves coming in - Coco stabilizing well, runoff pH and PPM at 5.9 and 1000

9/24/24 Week 3 and things are starting to pick up now. We're getting into my favorite phase where lots of things are happening, the plants are really starting to develop, and we can start being more hands-on with them as we get ready for transplanting, topping, and training- good times! 😃 - Plants could be transplanted now, but more coco won't be here for another couple of days. Not a problem, things will be fine. - Bringing humidity down in the tent as veg development picks up - 5th set of leaves starting to develop - Plant looks great, green and healthy, no notable issues - Looks like it will be a little more on the Indica side as far as plant structure and shape - Lights measuring 450 PPFD at top of plant - Runoff pH and PPM at 5.9 and 953, good ranges - For watering, giving daily fertigation with very light feed and will continue that until repotting 9/27/24 Repotting day! The ladies are in their final home in 5 gal fabric pots filled with Foxfarm Cultivation Nation 70/30 coco/perlite mix. I'll give them a few days to adjust and then the first topping will come later next week. - Plant looking nice and green - Good looking root structure, was close to getting root-bound, but things look good - Watered with 6.4 pH water with 5 ml of Cal/Mag to start buffering the coco, soaked the pot to 10% runoff - Didn't take runoff measurements since the coco will need to settle in for a little while to get meaningful measurements 9/30/24 - Plant doing very well after repotting - Due to plant height, the lowest leaves are touching the soil- won't be an issue after the first topping later this week - Plant looking nice and green, though a little minor deceleration on first set of leaves - Light measured at 450 PPFD at plant top - Runoff pH at 5.9 (PPM measures over 2000, but the coco is still settling and buffering)

10/1/24 Now we're getting to the fun part- plant is recovering very well from the repotting and will be ready for her first topping and starting the LST later on this week. I love this part of the grow, it's so much fun to be so hands-on with the plant and see it change so much! - Plant looking generally very healthy and green - Lowest set of leaves are discolored and fading quick, but they are touching the coco and will be pruned away when topping and starting the manifold - Tent conditions stable at 75 degrees during the day and RH 10/2/24 -First topping 10/4/24 - Plant recovering really well from topping 10/6/24 - Plant nice and green, developing well - 3rd nodes present, will top again after 5th nodes appear - Watering everyday, feeding every other day - Runoff pH and PPM measuring at 5.8 and 1300, coco seems mostly settled and buffered

10/8/24 Week 5 and things are rocking. Plant is recovering really well from first topping, mainline is developing really well, LST is in place, and she should be ready for her second topping later this week. - Plant is green and healthy, main stalk is bulking up - Tent conditions are stable, though RH is ticking up as more foliage comes in- it's now around 60% - Watering every day, feeding every other day - Runoff pH and PPM is 5.8 and 930, coco seems to have stabilized 10/10/24 - Plant looks fantastic - Ready for second topping, may come tomorrow - Maintaining current water and feed schedule for the week - Runoff pH and PPM at 5.8 and 800, great ranges, things are stable - Light still measuring 450 PPFD at top of plant 10/11/24 - Second topping today - Manifold developing really well - Slightly heavier feed today to help plant recover - Runoff pH and PPM at 6.0 and 730 - PPM dropping slightly, plant seems to be getting hungrier 10/14/24 - Smooth sailing, plant looks happy, no current issues - Recovering from second topping very nicely - Manifold developing well - Going to let the plant start to grow vertically for a bit, switch to flower in the next week or so - Runoff pH and PPM at 6.0 and 729

10/15/24 Week 6, probably the final week of veg before flipping to flower. Mainlining adds more veg time, but it's SO worth it since the training makes such a difference in flower. - Plant looks really healthy and is recovering really well from second topping - Manifold looks solid and all stems are bulking up and sturdy - Turned up vent fan to bring down tent humidity as foliage increases, RH staying between 50%-60% between day and night - Watering every day with .5 gals, feeding for two days then one day of plain water - Runoff pH and PPM at 5.9 and 650 - Plant getting thirstier, will start to increase water 10/18/24 - Everything going smooth, plant looks great - Starting to grow upwards now, will give it a few more inches then flip to flower in a few days - Plant seems hungry and seems to be taking as many notes as I throw at it, so I keep feeding until I start to see the PPM building up - Runoff pH and PPM at 6.0 and 675 10/20/24 - Plant growing by about 1" per day, it's up to 10 now - Will flip to 12/12 light once it gets to around 12", so a few more days to go in veg - Plucked a few leaves to thin out the plant, want to get consistent light and air to the nodes that are developing - Have fed every day this week as runoff PPM is staying pretty stable, so the plant is taking all the nutes I'm giving her - Light measuring 600 PPFD at plant top - Runoff pH and PPM at 5.9 and 694, staying very stable 10/23/24 So, this "week" is going to be around 10 days long 😜, I listen to the plants, not the calendar! I did a major defoliation and will give them a day or two to recover, then fly to 12/12 - Plant looking good, everything stable and on track

10/25/24 It's 12/12 Day! 😃 Flipping to flower after the plant has had about 2 days to recover from a major defoliation. Let the stretching begin! - Plant recovered very well from the defoliation - Going forward, I'm going to be fairly aggressing with plucking fan leaves to ensure good light and air penetration- much more aggressive than the last grow - Plant continues vertical stretch of about 1" per day - Everything green and healthy, things look great - Tent conditions stable on all fronts - Light raised and adjusted, still measuring 600 PPFD at plant top - Watering everyday, adjusting feed as I see runoff PPM steadily increasing. So far, it's pretty stable in measurement, so I continue to give it light feeding most days - Runoff pH and PPM at 5.9 and 871 10/27/24 - Plucking a handful of leaves every day, trying to keep airflow and light penetrating well into the plant - Once buds start to form, I'll get more aggressive with defoliation but just trying to keep it open for now - Beginning to bend some of the stems out a bit to keep things flat and level - Everything very healthy and green - Tent conditions stable - Runoff pH and PPM at 6.0 and 970 10/30/24 - Keeping on with the same general routine for defoliation, plucking a handful of leaves each day to keep things open, but not trying to stress out the plant too much - Plant looks very green and healthy - Tent conditions stable - Watering every day, giving plain water every 4th day as PPM starts to increase - Runoff pH and PPM at 6.0 and 816

11/1/24 Week 2 of flower, plenty of stretching and lots of plucking to keep the plants open, but she's staying and looking very happy and healthy. - Each day, plucking a handful of leaves to keep the light and air penetrating the plant - Each day, the plant has filled back in from the day before - Getting close to seeing pistils - Watering everyday, giving feed most days and plain water as I see PPM in runoff starting to steadily go up - Runoff pH and PPM at 6.0 and 741 11/3/24 Steady as she goes, no drama or worrisome changes - Reacting really well to leaf plucking, canopy is filled in the next day ready for more - Every 3rd day or so, I'm not plucking anything to let her relax a bit - Starting to do some gentle bending to the main stems to get a little more spread and keep the canopy even - Growth continues at about 1" per day - Raised lights a bit to allow for more stretch and keeping about 24" from the top of the plants - Lights at 600 PPFD at canopy top - Runoff pH and PPM at 6.0 and 680 11/06/24 - Steady as she goes, things look fine - First signs of pistils, day 12 of flower - Runoff pH and PPM at 6.0 and 772

11/8/24 Week 3 of flower, and flowers are starting to flower (FLOWER!) - Seeing first signs of pistils - Plant looks good and healthy - Plucking a small handful of leaves each day to keep plant open and airy - Runoff pH and PPM at 5.9 and 739 11/10/24 - Starting to see some (very) minor yellow tips on some new growth, will keep a careful eye on pH - Pistil development starting to pick up - Raised light slightly to keep 24" distance - Runoff pH and PPM at 6.0 and 696 11/12/24 - Plant getting very full with leaves again, letting them rest for a couple of days with no defoliation or plucking - Budlets are coming in nicely, will give a few more days before another major defoliation - pH seems stable and no increase in yellow tips on plants, so could just be part of the plant shifting gears into bud development - Have been watering every day, 4-5 days of feed, then one day of plain water - Runoff pH and PPM at 6.1 and 708

11/15/24 Things going along nicely, plant looking healthy and kicking into bud production. - Stretch continues - Frustratingly, this seems to be a very brittle plant- I have accidentally snapped several branches clean off just by brushing against them while plucking leaves - Major defoliation today, will keep plucking leaves to keep plant open - Budlet development moving along well - Light moved to 18" above canopy - Light measuring at 700 PPFD at canopy top - Runoff pH and PPM at 5.7 and 851 11/17/24 - Added a SCROG net to help support and spread out the canopy - Plant recovering well from last defoliation - Bud sites looking good, seem on track - Light measuring at 700 PPFD at tops - Runoff pH and PPM at 5.8 and 973 11/19/24 - Things looking fine - Plant filling back in after defoliation - Bud site development steady - Plant starting to get a little sticky and seeing first signs of trichomes - Stretch appears to be starting to slow - Runoff pH and PPM at 5.8 and 838

11/23/24 Flowering really picking up now, plant looks very happy and starting to get sticky - Bud development up and down the plant looking good - Plant mostly filled back in after last defoliation - Trichome development starting, visible on leaves - Stretch slowing down - Runoff pH and PPM at 5.7 and 1010 11/25/24 - Light leaf plucking today - Things looking fine, bud and trichome development going strong - Interesting to compare the two plants in the tent, the Purple Haze has very tight node spacing in the colas while the Runtz has larger spacing - Possible signs of purple coming in? - Runoff pH and PPM at 604 and 904 11/28/24 - Definitely early signs of purple in the tops, very excited! - It's getting colder outside, so day temps are in the lower 70s and night temps are probably in mid-60's - Need to do one last defoliation in the next couple of days to get some light further into the plant - Stretch has all but stopped - Runoff pH and PPM at 6.0 and 955

11/29/24 Going into week 6 of flower, and things are looking great! - Purple definitely starting to develop, starting to see some color in the pistils as well - One last light defoliation today. The plant isn't as open as I'd like, but it's not bad and I don't want to introduce any additional stress in the last half of flower - Getting cold outside, so temps in the room and RH are down slightly, but it's perfect timing - Stretch is done, light is as high as it can go in the tent - Tops are bulking up nicely - Runoff pH and PPM at 5.9 and 976 12/2/24 - Just watching things develop and bulk up, no real news or updates - Runoff pH and PPM at 6.0 and 959

12/6/24 Week 7 of flower, and entering into the home stretch! - Buds bulking up and getting firmer, still a ways to go on the lower buds of course - Trichomes are mostly cloudy on top and middle of plant, seeing a few amber trichomes already on the tops - Still lots of white pistils - Plant getting much less hungry, but still thirsty - Watering every day but dropping feeding down to every other day - Plant wanting higher pH water to keep medium in a good range - Runoff pH and PPM at 5.8 and 926 12/8/24 - Things steady, just watching things ripen - Runoff pH and PPM at 5.8 and 745 12/11/24 - Bud stacking continues - Was hoping for more purple by now, but we'll see how it ultimately turns out and develops - Water and nutrient uptake stable - Runoff pH and PPM at 5.9 and 703

12/13/24 Week 8 of flower, coasting into the home stretch! - Not a ton going on, just watching the buds plump up - Still lots of white pistils, some amber and tightening, but still a ways to go- probably another 2 weeks from the look of things - Was really hoping to see more purple developing, but I guess we'll see what happens in the home stretch and fade when that comes - Nutrient uptake slowing a bit, so feeding every other day - Runoff pH and PPM at 5.9 and 717 12/15/24 - Everything fine, not much to say - Watering every day, feeding every other day - Runoff pH and PPM stable 12/17/24 - Coasting, things fine - Runoff pH and PPM at 6.0 and 636

12/20/24 Week 9 of flower, getting close! - Purple seems to be spreading, but not crazy strong - Seeing a little bit of purple in a few leaves on the tops - Seeing a little light stress on very top of buds, some small patches of yellow - Still a ways to go on lower buds - Watering every day, feeding every other day - Runoff pH and PPM at 5.9 and 629 12/22/24 - Getting close to the end, going to start flushing this week - Buds have a nice sweet smell 12/24/24 - Should be ready to harvest next week - lowest buds still have a little way to go, but could be harvested - Seeing a little more purple coming in on some leaves - No longer feeding, just watering and letting medium PPM come down - runoff pH and PPM at 6.0 and 476

12/27/24 Week 10 of flower, probably the last week before harvest! 😃 - Purple developing more in the leaves - Slight yellowing of bud leaves in very tops - Buds very dense and hard, even down about mid-way down the plant - Lower buds are getting close to being ready - Just a few amber trichomes on tops - Flushing for past few days, no more feeding - Runoff PPM from medium slowly coming down, plant not really taking up any more nutrients - Plant still fairly thirsty - Runoff pH and PPM at 6.1 and 326 12/29/24 - Plant could really be harvested at any time now, but going to give it a few more days - Overall, the plant is much darker than the Runtz in the same tent and the color continues to deepen - Not taking up any notes from the coco at this point, but still moderately thirsty - Runoff pH is steadily ticking up, so reducing pH of water for the flush - Runoff pH and PPM is 6.1 and 283 1/1/25 One more day of growing, will chop tomorrow

And here we are- harvest! Plant finished a little earlier than the Runtz in the same tent, but not by too much. This grow generally went really well, but some lessons learned for next grow: - Skip the scrog net, it just gets in the way of defoliation. Use super cropping instead. - Need to do some pruning as well as defoliation, only defoliating made the plant very branchy and full- was hard to keep clear in the middle, so still wound up with more larf than I'd hoped. Plant will dry in 60% humidity for 2 weeks, then go into 2 weeks of cure. Will be dry trimmed. This page will be updated as the process goes on.
