Was a bit hasty in starting this one. Not sure what the plan for her is. The 80x80 will be available soon when I harvest the Strawberry Gorilla. This one will have to sit a bit longer in the starter tent.
First seed for me from Seedstockers and they make some interesting claims. I'm eager to see how she performs.
She's off to a terrible start. Her leaves are warped and she's growing slowly. This is the second seed in a row to yield a weak plant. I'm annoyed but I will grow her for a few more weeks before deciding whether to give up and start over.
The leaves are still weird, but the growing speed is picking up. I don't think she will be a big plant despite being rated XXL by Seedstockers. I think my soil is not draining properly and gonna to be difficult throughout the entire grow.
She's growing better now and starting to fill up. I was away so I gave her a decent watering and she spent the week unattended. Fortunately she didn't need attention during this period. I topped her just before I left.
We're at the end of week 4 and she doesn't seem to have triggered flowering yet. Fortunately this is giving me time to fill up her canopy. Seedstockers claim she's an XXL plant and I hope to test that.
We're now in week 5 and she's still showing any signs of flowering. I don't think I've had an auto take this long before she triggers, but the extended time is giving her time to recover from her slow start. Her canopy is very dense.
She finally triggered flowering this week. I was away for a few days, but fortunately I had the timelapse camera running and it caught the beginning of flowering.
I'm constantly amazed at how well she's doing considering her stunted start and how fussy she was in her first weeks. The canopy is very dense. I've never had to navigate so much to adjust my training pins.
Now in the third week of flower. She seems to be done with stretching but she really didn't stretch that much at all. Even less than pure indica breeds I've grown.
The buds are starting to show their shape. She has tight internodal spacing and the stems are very short. Overall she's about 42 cm from soil level to highest cola.
The canopy is very dense. I went in and defoliated, removing more than I usually do at this point (I always maintain a light touch). The inner canopy leaves are much lighter green and I think a slight nutrient deficiency was hiding in the canopy. I adjusted her feed accordingly.
I let her dry out too much but the damage was minimal. Just some dead leaves on the lower canopy. It seems I adjusted perfectly for the deficiency I uncovered last week. I don't think there's much left to do for her until harvest.
It's now in its 12th week and one week past the grow time indicated by SeedStockers. Until now, there are too many clear trichome heads and too few amber ones. Maybe next week.
Final week, now two weeks past her due. She's shorter and somewhat smaller than I expected. We finally have decent trichome coverage and I will be cutting her down later today. Stay tuned for harvest report.
She took two weeks more than the breeder indicated, but she's finally been chopped. I didn't bother too much with the trim, I just remove the sugar leaves before I grind. Took 6 days to dry at 24C / 60%. Now it is curing. 165g, of which about 35g is larf.
