I'm excited to start this run, as it will be my first photoperiod plants indoors. I got these two seeds as a freebie from North Atlantic Seed Company. I believe that Dirty Bird Genetics is a side project for them, so I'm interested to see how these go since I can't find any information on them. Also they were from an "eclipse" drop so that's pretty cool since I saw the eclipse this year.
Poked these suckers into the cococoir peat pellet thing and stuck them in my AeroGarden. They sprouted within a couple days and I left them in there long enough to get some really good roots forming. Today I moved them to their new homes in their DWC buckets with their first set of nutes. I'm using hydroguard and the General Hydroponics Floraseries Trio. I'm following the same nute schedule I used for my autoflowers since I plan to swap them to 12/12 at about the same time, 4 weeks or so, so that they stay small. I have another freebie photoperiod on this run, so these three will probably stay in the same tent.
Set up includes 5 gallon buckets filled with about 3 gallons of well water. I filled the water in the morning and let it sit all day to degas and absorb some oxygen. I use hydroguard, calimagic, and the GH trio series, then pH check. Today the pH is a little low but I'm ok with that. I use the schedule from growweedeasy.com. I put an airstone in the water, and then put the plug with my seedling into a 5 inch net pot surrounded by expanded clay pellets. This can be a challenge, because I try to get the roots to go through the net then gently add the expanded clay so that I don't have to top water. The roots on these girls were really robust so I didn't have a problem with that.
