Opium 2024

~ 11th week ~ Opium is ready for harvest. The buds are huge and heavy, so much so that the stems bend under their weight. Most of the hairs have turned brown, although new flowers are still appearing. All flowers, even the lowest located ones, are covered with a thick layer of shiny resin. The entire main trunk, along with the side stems and the underside of the leaves, are purple. Yesterday i preliminary manicured her to make the harvest easier. Since the day before yesterday i haven't watered her at all, so that she has as little moisture as possible when harvesting. Although i could give her another week to live, but i have the feeling that the plant is calling to me "Cut me down, please cut me down now!". So i'll fulfill her request - harvest tomorrow.
