Day 36 plants starting to crave that potassium really bad. The plants that have gone lighter have some really nice purple on the top bud.
Top dressing and another watering tomorrow of the 2-4-8 and that will probably be the last feed. Still no amber or orange pistols apart from where iv touched a few buds doing the nanner check.
Hopefully gives it the potassium it needs and these ladies keep fattening up and frosting up. Nothing crispy yet so hopefully I can get that feed into her and we don't fade out way too soon.
Will be running a strain called after eightz next, again from mean beanz. Made contact with cook@ cooks creations from mean beanz and will be running some of their clones direct. Feel privileged, genetics wise these are fire. Have a way better understanding of dry amendments and organics after this run and with more research done.
These diaries help track what was done and when to refer back to. Less volume of feed and every other week is the way forward. That and bigger pots, slightly less plants.
Day 37,everything fading even more. Went with the top dress after being indecisive. 5 tsps of 2-4-8. Hopefully this sees them through to their end. If not the boost will come in handy. Watered in at pH 6.5. after having them out their space again, still looking good. May have some foxtailing on a couple. Temps have been perfect so that would be my heavy handed feed with the extra phosphorus added the last top dressing. Upon inspecting the ladies pretty sure they are gonna go the full 10 weeks.
Coming up to lights off day 37 and the potassium is visible, the leaves that had gone lighter on the tops already have more color in them. Note for next time as I am already looking at how and what to feed the next lot. The amendment was really fine, as it starts to break down over the next week it will absorb more. Next run I can't be waiting for a deficiency, I want to be well on top of things. Experience brings confidence.
Has this been a set-back free run? Far from it but that's not to say it's ended up a bad run at all. Learning experience with the dry amendments takes some getting used to. You can probably feel the desire to pull out my good old liquid nutrients and go back to what I know. Next time I have way more of an idea of feed schedule.
The more I do research outside of experience with the ladies the more it's building my understanding of how to go about organic dry amendments. Will probably always be tweaking what and when is fed but how well this run is going even with an overfeed, gives me great hope for the future. This is the way!
https://www.drforest.co.uk for anyone looking at the dry amendments I use. If an old git such as myself can get by early doors anyone can. Has a feed schedule. Loads of info on his site also. Price is more than reasonable. His mixes include all the jazzy extras I see YouTubers talk about. Answers emails also. Top chap.
The Dr forest schedule switches to calcium sulphate the week after the last top dress. Calcium carbonate week after then calcium sulphate the week after. Not something I have done before but it's what I'm doing this time. Spotted some early signs of calcium deficiency. So I'm going to start the next watering and see how we go. Smell is unreal.
Day 39 another watering. With 1.5g calcium sulphate per litre of water added. Hopefully that stops the calcium deficiency that's started on a couple. Plants using the potassium so it's gonna need that calcium late on. Cake back up again. Think the dry amendments are starting to break down and be available to the plant.
Day 40. Fade definitely seems to have arrested. Colour still slowly moving back into the faded leaves from the base to the tip. Calcium deficiency hopefully stops also. Buds coming on daily. Smell is even more intense. Weather is awful. The dehumidifier I purchased is just keeping it inside the tents at 53%. Closet is 57%. Can only imagine what it would have been if I wasn't using the big dehumidifier. Pistils starting to turn on all top buds now. 70 days seems a very good estimate.
@Callys_Garden, I keep thinking anting to try XL fabric pots in a proper space, wicking for a bottom feed after too watering in the amendments at first. Huge plants, huge buds.
@Callys_Garden, if you ever switch to dry amendments there's some good tips. You seem to have Coco down. It's whatever works for you. Thanks Cally. Mush love
