Sweet Tooth Feminized Bred by Barney's Farm, A cross of all landrace strains (Afghani, Nepalese, and Hawaiian) this hybrid strain really caught my eye. I have a theory that as we continue to interbreed cannabis strains for certain traits that we like that we are seeing a general blandening of the effects caused by the different cannabis strains. My idea is that first generation landrace hybrids (in this case meaning bred from landrace strains) will have a more full effect and could potentially have stronger genetics that its interbred cousins (think of it like the difference between a wolf-dog hybrid and a pug; the wolf-dog hybrid is obviously going to retain more of the traditional qualities that dog would have originally had than the pug and personally I would rather have my plants be wolves than pugs). I may entirely be off base with this idea because I have seen some incredible cannabis bred from very hybridized strains but I am excited to play around with a landrace hybrid and see how it compares. I also picked this strain for the sleep aid and euphoric qualities thinking it could be a good daytime strain for someone with anxiety.

01/18/19-Very excited to get these new genetics up and running! Props to Barney's Farm 2/2 seeds popped in 3 days via wet paper towel method. Transplanted to leftover Happy Frog soil in 1qt takeout containers. It has been pretty cold since its winter up here in Vermont so the germination has been taking a little longer than expected but as of this morning (1/18) 1 of the seeds was above the soil and breaking out of its shell and the other seed is visible in the soil. I have my heater blasting and the humidifier on high trying to get the room up to the right climate., hopefully a couple days of keeping it going will help it balance out. Thinking about picking up some heating mats to put under the buckets and to help with temp regulation and keep the root zone happy.
2/4- The big girl was starting to look a little tight in her container so I decided it was time to transplant her. Put her into the 4.5gal buckets that I used for the GDP grow and got some FoxFarms Ocean Forest soil mix from the hardware store. I haven't done a lot of transplanting before and made the rookie mistake of not wetting the soil before putting the new plant in. I had some trouble getting the soil to start to hold water but i watered until it was draining into the drip tray and let it sit until it had absorbed the water from the tray again. I think I might water one more time later today to make sure its nice and wet but we will see. The big girl is starting to droop and show some signs of clawing. Im also seeing a small bit of yellowing and a couple of brown spots showing. I think a lot of it has to do with it being in too small of a container and me struggling to water adequately because of that. Hoping that the transplant will fix this but Im also noticing the smaller ones leaves starting to twist and show a couple spots too. I think its just been from poor watering practices so I am really going to step my game up here. Hoping to go into flower around the first week of March.
