First grow. Started these girls in august, but just now feel things are stable to put in diary form. These pictures are of them at 4 weeks post pot transplant.
18/6 light schedule with a 350w lec light.
Sensi bloom salts A+B as nutrients + calmag weekly.
Girls looked quite promissing, specially taking into account a few bizarre emergencies that prevented me from caring for her the way id like during the previous 2 weeks.
Lec light broke, so they were forced into flowering because daylight schedule was basically 12/12.
2
240 w led lights were added to the mix, adjusting potency and distance (from 50 to 36cm) progressively throughout week to keep stress levels at bay.
Calmag has been added on small doses daily as nitrogen deficiency has been perceived
Great evolution after adding calmag ( 0, 5/L 4 times a week), greener tones with less yellowing between leaf veins. First signs of visible buds in pic. After missing windows of opportunity and plants already being stressed over deficiencies and light changes, the decision was made to not defoliate further or lollypop... Big mistake
Repeat after me, dear over 18 children: glutony is bad.
Just because 6 11 L pots fit, that does not mean having all of them used is a good idea, specially if you couldnt lollypop/defoliate.
Humidity has been rising insanely and opening the tent + windows + exhaustor vent and 3 other fans can barely keep it at 65%
Big bud suspended. Hermie found amongst girls, no open sacs. No other hermies. I decided to just "cherry pick" them sacs and see what happens.
Ocasional leaf ripped to facilitate air and light penetration, concentrated potassium added at 1 ml/L twice a week.
The room smells better than ever, emergency defoliation done because climate has worsened humidity, reaching a staggering 90% during nights, under control during day.
Hermie has been behaving quite nicely, no pollen sacs found along week, no fertilized buds found above scrog.
Nightly potassium based fungi pest control added
So, the hermie stopped all good behaviour and their coworkers threatened to call HR over sexual harrassment, so i had hermie cut down.
Day 42 of flowering and all seems well. Thricomes are milky with a couple ambers showing but not nearly enough to justify cutting them.
99% of pistils are still white, and the girls seem to still be thickening a bit. The smell is an amazingly sweet perfume that actually makes the house (not just the indoor) smell better.
No other hermies spotted, and a few small, lower buds look fertilized, but nothing that will ruin the day or harvest. No more powdery mildew.
Overall, im proud of how they are developing, as this is my first actual attempt. I feel proud of my girls and cant wait untill they are of an appropiate age so i can use them for my own gratification. I wonder if this is how Trump feels about Ivanka
Week 8, Flowering day 50and things still look fine. Not much of a visible growth this week, but development is still visible in quality. No mold spotted, trichomes and pistils are stepping up, strong aroma and RH between 40-55% depending of the time of day. Harvest looks like an actual possibility.
Now, and this might get me some torches and pitchforks, i have decided to flush the kids and see how it goes. If it goes bad, its ok. Thats why parents have other children later, everybody knows the firstborn is just a testrun for data collection.
So, harvest was a couple months ago and life happened so i could not update before.
Now, after months of drying, curing and gathering aome seeds from some shockingly great 250 grams, i can say... This is the best weed i've ever had in my life. Its like being struck by an 18 wheeler made of strawberry cake.
3 big buds where discarded over suspicion of mold, but nothing ever showed up on the rest of the harvest in the next couple months on macro or micro. Im proud of my girls and appreciate their sacrifice to the fire in the name of me being ok with boredom.
I might test my seeds and have me some grandaughters later.
@Legendaryseedthumb, thanks, man. I can hardly believe them myself. Before this, i only threw bag seeds around to see what would happen, never controlled or payed attention to anything. So i never expected anywhere near where this is going now.
Yours also seem like lovely girls :)
looks nice! flushing is ok. Its not bad but also not helpful if there isn't a problem like toxicity. But its a lot of effort, but it can't hurt to have done it once haha.
That harvest will be lit!
