Roots are growing in rock wool cube.
Only 1 tank have water ( cuttings have already colonize the rock wool on this one )
i'm waiting for better root to add water on the second ( 2-4 days maximum )

- End of the Week, everything is going well, both tank have water, i top them to get 4 branch by plant, i'll remove small branch i don't need to keep only the biggest 💪👍
Everything is going well, i'll change water tomorrow,, i topped them a few days ago, except one, she's a bit late, so i'll add her in the tank when she'll get better root.

Roots are still growing for second Tank. Plants in First tank have nice roots, i think they are ready to switch in bloom. i give a few day for the second tank and i'll start flowering 😁

Plants on left tank are beautifull and grow very fast. they cover 60/70% of the tent 👌

Everything is OK, plants are growing well, except a few leaf which are light green on one side and a darker green on the other, i don't see any sign of deficiency or toxicity.
So i guess it's OK
I change the water today, iuse only tap water with corrected pH for a few hours to clean the root then i'll change the water again and add nutrient for the next week.
i'll upload more pictures in a few hours ( when the lamp will be ON )

i was away this week, so i full the 2 tanks before i leave, and ask to the room mate to adjust pH each day and add only tap water when the level drop.
when i come back home again, some leaves turn brown and dry on the edge 😢 and the leaves are all curled down.
i don't know if it's due to overdose, pH fluctuation, etc ...
Do you have any ideas guys ?

i think i understand what happen last week. 2 days after i fill the tank, they drank so much,, and EC increase a lot. so i removed 7/8 L in each tank and fill it again with tap water to decrease EC to 1.2/1.3. i don't see more damage after diluate so i guess they like it 😅
i change the water today, and i feed them less than last week ( 30-40% of the recommended quantity )

Today i bought a new tent, ballast and lamp, so i'll start the next grow tomorrow 😋 i don't need to wait for plant to be dry before start a new grow now o/

leaves color is now light green and some leaves are dying. Buds are solid and the smell is awesome.

i practice with this strain for 7 months now, but this one look better than my previous one. plant were healthy until the end, and buds are really dense and frosty 😍😍😍
Even if roots are a bit colored, they look healthy, 👌

i'll try to answer, i empty the second tank meanwhile ^^
A. i pre soak the block for a week/10 days to get a stable pH at 5.5 ( and the last day with a 0.8EC solution to add some nutes in the block )
B . i don't have lot of root, but the yellow leaf on the bottom was turning left a few days ago, i though it was because it was the first leaf (the part i cut from the mother plant)
you may have right for the small one who has a yellow leaf on the top, i think he don't have enough root.
@Dedon,the rockwool has a lime content that can not be processed out when making the blocks.
You have neutralise the lime content by pre soaking the rockwool for 24 hours in water with a ph of 5.5
I do add formulex cutting feed in that too👍

You're not doing bad at all....all you have to do is let them dry out.
You have white roots coming. you'll soon get the fluffy white roots coming once they dry out to about 75%....then just tease them with a little water til your happy they last a few more days...
Haven't looked at what light you are using but obviously the more powerful light the quicker they will dry out!!! And depending how often you can check them
Trust me once you get going with nft you will never look back or use soil
I keep my mothers in soil thats it
@Dedon, that humdity is not to bad... environment control is another ball game...I struggle all the time. I look at the weather all the time and adjust things accordingly....
I use a humidifier at the start of the grow because once the lights are on for a few hours it will dry out the air but then when you get buds at the end I throw in the dehumidifier 🙄😂🤣....I can't win but i got it under control

Your next problem will be trying to slow the the growth rate down 😂😂
You need to know if they are tall growing sativas or short indicas and think about training them...they will be over crowded with how many you have there
@@@hydrohippy, i can check them each evening from 5pm to 10pm so i guess it'll be ok with a 400W HID but humidity is really low during winter (40% / 50% with humidifer ... i have to stop the extract to increase it )

@Dedon, i know its hard to get your head round but those rockwool blocks hold a lot of water...don't be scared to let them get 75% dry. Remember air trim in early stages is very important....obviously as they get bigger they dry out quicker so keel the roots damp but don't saturate the blocks 👍

@Dedon,it really depends on how warm grow room is or how big the plants are and what the roots are like....when u have an abundance of roots you don't want them to dry out to soon
@@hydrohippy, your water pump was on 24/h a day during this week, right ? if i had to choose a week to place them in the system with water pump on 24h a day, it will be your week 3

@PeppaWutz, Roots are a bit colored due to nutrient, but it's not suppose to be so brown. I had issue with root rot during my previous session.
I hope it's over now, This diary is from 2018 and i wasn't experimented with NFT.
Buds are looking frosty 👍...its shame the leaves are going a bit funny! You need to start using canna on your next grow.

i don't see more damage since i flush the tank and divise the dose by half. leaves.
i wanna give one more try with theses nutes before give up. ( = i don't want to throw all that nutrients to the bin 😭 ) but i'll lower the dose from the beginning. and throw away amino treatment. ( i still don't know about top shooter & bud xl, because it's the same A+B ... )
i guess i'll switch to canna when i'll finish this nutes, it'll be more easy 😋 ....
one more thing, before, i didn't add water until it reach the minimum level, but ec was fluctuating a lot. now i add water everyday ( ~+4L in each tank ) to keep stable ec and near the maximum level. specially since the "accident" when i was away for a week.
do you usually keep the water near the maximum level or are you waiting before filling it again ?

How is yours? Grow period is very long but you will have 2 or 3 monster after stretch :p
@@hydrohippy, it's not so expensive, but i have a shitty camera ^^ it's a Raspberry Pi cam with 2m cable lengh and a raspberry pi :p
i need that Raspberry Pi to host a domotic server and other Nerd things, but i think you can find something cheaper and easier to use if you only need to make timelapse :p
How are your roots...can you add a picture?
I would turn the pump off for a few days and let the blocks start to dry out...I promise you if you do this your roots will go crazy... obviously keep an eye on them !!!!!
You could also give the blocks a little squeeze to drain off excess water 👍✌️

it was the first time i do cuttings, so it took me several try and cuttings don't have the same age, so i place the older cuttings which had 5 roots growing on the bottom into the tank on the left . the pump was set on 15 min / 6h and 24h/24h 3 days later.
On the right came the yougest cuttings and some of them didn't have roots on the bottom of the big rock wool ( only the small rock wool inside had root ) so i only had water in this one a few day ago
Nice!!!! Almost there bro. This is my first mainline attempt and yeah its been time consuming but im loving the canopy evenness. I have lst and i like what it does to the lower branches but mainline is more eye pleasing to me. I knew it was going to take a long veg time, thats why i got the tangie auto so it could hold me down until the photo periods veg and flower.
