I decided to germinate in root riot cubes and put those directly in 5 G fabric pots with small humity domes on Friday 10/25/24. First seedling popped on Monday morning and I removed the dome off that seedling.
Put the net on and folded the tops over. Plant one and two are still a bit behind from plant three and four. I still think it had to do with the soil and nutrients not getting mixed in enough. I think it'll be OK but I'm not expecting maximum yield from plant one into
Yesterday I realized that the Royal runts were photos and not autos. I switched the lights to 12 and 12. They've all been at maximum light for the last three weeks. Looks like two weeks left for the wedding cake to finish. Looks like the royal runts are going to be pretty big, I have not trained or defoliated so I'm not sure how they will come out.
Coming up on day 53 Wedding cake number four is probably a week to 10 days away. Wedding cake number three is still scrawny and buds are small but beefing up. Switched the lights to 12 and 12 8 days ago increased nutrients for plant one and four royal ruts. Never topped and have done minimal training or pruning cuz I thought they were all autos.
I have been feeding/watering with 1G per plant with my 5 gallon pots. I have discovered that's not enough and has been leading to nutrient build up. My run-off is over 3200 at this point. I'm gonna flush nice and begin to water with 1.5 g per feeding. They look better already, plant 4 was showing signs of a little lock out I believe but it is now under control. Plant 3 auto is about ready, plant 2 auto is probably 2 weeks away and I just performed my 1st flush. The wedding cake photos are gonna be big, I veged them for 6 weeks on 20/4 light cycle (on 10) for the last 2 weeks of veg thinkin they were autos, also minimal LST training and no toppin. Lookin forward to seeing how they turn out.
Day 70 from seed. The autos are getting close, I want to do one more flush before harvest. I definitely want to spread out the royal runtz, plant 4 is getting big. The two autos of wedding cake look different, plant number two is frostier with smaller buds and plant number 3 has some fat tops. I did not top any of the four plants in the tent thinkin they were all autos. They look happier after increasing my feedings/waterings to 1.6 gallons per app. I had been feeding 1 gallon p/p but I think that was causing nute build-up.
January 7 flushed plant number two and number three with 6 gallons of pHd tap water each (my tap water has EC of .24 and ppm of 168). #2 started with EC of 4.6 and 3209 ppm, got it down to 2.9 EC and 1480 PPM (still high). Plant #3 starting EC 2.7 PPM 1900 down to 1.1 and 745 PPM after final flush. Should take five days for these plants to dry out I may do one more flush but I'm thinking the remaining nutrients are going to be used by the plant over the next week.
The two royal runs are doing OK but not real happy high VPD burnt plant number for a little bit. Day 32 of flower. I think I still have some nutrient buildup. I want to get one more flesh in before final flush
Not super happy with plant four, still a little pale in color and some of the leaves are drooping. I'm thinking it may still be bouncing back from nutrient burn. Also a bunch of the pistols are turning Amber which I also believe may have to do with nutrient burn from too high of VPD. I'm gonna let plant for dry out one more day and feed tomorrow. Hopefully the leaves start pointing up!
One of the royal runts has a lot of brown hairs for weeks into flower. I'm not sure why I think I may have shocked them and did not pH my water correctly during one of the flushes.
Plant number three is not happy. Still looks like it's locked out. I flushed two waterings ago but I don't think I flushed enough. Still looks locked out, yesterday on one/30 I flushed again with sledgehammer got PPM down to 1200. EC started at 4.5 and PPM was 3700 before flush I hope it turns and gets better only two weeks or so away from harvest. Turns out plant number four hermed on me. Not sure if it was because of a light leak, pH or environment. I cut it down in time I think to not germinate plant number one. I tried the plant partially in the oven and did a riff trim Then put the buds in the bubble tumbler to get kief.
