3 Bears OG stormed out of the gate! Great Lakes Water Only soil. PH'd water, planning on LST but as she's come out of her shell she seems to be really skinny. She grew weirdly tall, to almost three inches in a few days, then stopped and started working on her leaves. She's taller than the Sour Crack, which is a week older. Her sativa heritage coming on strong? We'll see.

Week 2 of the 3 Bears OG has shown me how vastly different these strains really are. Where all the others are wide and bulky, she is skinny and tall. Her leaves are so long that even though she's a bigger girl, her top leaves almost touch the ground, and bunch up into a wrinkly pile every day, early in the morning, only to stretch out and get smooth by evening. She's a neat one to watch!

This week 3 Bears OG #1 showed me what sorta crazy gal she is! She's lanky, she really likes to dance a lot. (Fan is blasting her nonstop.) and she's loves spitting out a lot of really narrow leaves, a polite gesture to her lower canopy. Because of her skinny leaf situation, she has been lower maintenance than the other girls. She just does her thing, asks for nothing in return and gets taller and wider. On day 16 and 17 she spread her leaves out a bit wider, showing her indica side, but she's gonna be a tall slender girl, of that there is no doubt. More to come! Day 19 - She's starting to cover up her lower bits so I may LST her tomorrow. We'll see. She's so tall and slender compared to the others that I hesitate just because she's so pretty. Day 20 - LST begun. She rebounded from it in less than an hour, and stood her top right back up! Day 21 - It amazes me how much of an explosion of growth that first day of LST causes! I can't imagine *not* doing LST. I mean I'm going to ignore one Sour Crack just to see what an unkempt girl looks like, but in general, they need to BEND.

Day - 22 - 3 Bears OG #1 has gotten to week four! She's responding well to LST and is easier to manipulate because her leaves are narrower and she's trying to put on more height than width, unlike the other girls. She has really piqued my interest in working with more lanky plants. Day 25 - She's so well behaved! Just growing in an orderly fashion and doing her thing with almost zero effort. She's kind of my favorite in a weird way. She's the least interesting in the sense that there's not really much to do with her, but at the same time, if I were growing a whole lot of plants, and I wasn't a first timer who is endlessly fascinated with each plant, she'd be a serious contender for just making a bigass crop, doing LST, and otherwise ignoring them completely, which seems very efficient from a farming standpoint. Day 27 - Moved her to the center of the tent to get more light and out from under the bulk of Sour Crack #1 and Sam's Crack #1.

Day 29 - As we enter week five with 3 Bears OG #1, she has continued to be a low maintenance, low trouble plant. Her narrower leaves and thin branches have made her super easy to manipulate and LST and tucking have been a lot less complex than with her sisters. Day 31 - Had to give her a bit of nitrogen, just like all the others. Otherwise she's justa chuggin' along.

Day 36 - 3 Bears OG #1 hits week six! Her sparseness compared to the others is becoming a big advantage. She can get light way down deep with her longer, narrower leaves and just keeps shooting up and spitting out new leaves. She's got flowers showing, but they seem to be in no hurry yet. As her flowering stretch hasn't hit full on yet, I imagine that she's going to have issues before the end with her height. We'll have to accommodate or give her a tiny bit of supercropping, something I haven't done and worry about. Day 38 - Considering supercropping? We'll have to see how she looks tomorrow. Day 42 - Twist before bending. TWIST BEFORE BENDING. Snapped a branch. Taped it up. It's still alive so yay me! Note to self - Twist before banding. Otherwise she's doing great!

Day 43 - 3 Bears OG #1 officially has a name. *Titan of Industry*. Or maybe *Bear Galt*. She's big, she's producing, she's working for herself, and she is super competent at her job, which appears to be stinking up the place with a gassy gross kinda awesome stank. She is also crowding the everliving bajoojoos out of the tent. We won't fault her for that. She's a good girl. Day 47 - One thing I have learned, at least, is that I can't treat all of the girls the same way. 3 Bears OG is bigger than everyone else, and she needs more food. I have been stingy with nutrients out of fear of overfeeding and burn, and she has suffered a little as a result. Sam #1 and #2 are starting to get the same symptoms, only much less so, which makes sense considering their relatively smaller size. Food increased. Day 48 - Gave her a biggish feed. Some of her color appears to be coming back, according to photo comparisons. Will keep a close on on her.

Day 50 - She's looking good! Learned so much from Sour Crack #1! 3 Bears OG #1 is the first to benefit. She started showing similar symptoms to SC#1 and I was able to get her back onto her feet much more quickly. Sam's Crack #1 and #2 were showing early signs of being underfed as well and they are both back to 100%. 3 Bears is back to being the silent, competent one again. She's thickening up and looking sassy. Day 55 - She's so crammed in with other plants that her stems aren't very strong. When I take her out to feed/water her side stems tend to sag a bit. Might have to wrap a string around her full bulk after harvesting Sam #1. Her buds are golf ball sized. :-D She's good though. That little bit of top leaf trouble hasn't gotten any worse and the tiny bit of burn she got from the recovery was minor as well.

Day 57 - 3 Bears OG #1 hasn't had enough room to spread out. Her stems are a little weak as a result. She sorta needs to have other plants next to her or her outermost stems will sort of splay out. Once Sam #1 is harvested I'll let her use up two plant spaces. Day 60 - Still looking good! Starting to smell more skunky/diesel than citrus now, however. Day 63 - More room to spread out, and she sure did! Sam #1 got the chop so she has WAY more room now, as today's pic shows.

Day 64 - Week 10! - Now that she has room, I went through and defoliated her bottom, which was a piled up mess of popcorn buds and thin, stringy stems. Yanked 5oz of wet trim and low fan leaves that was never going to mature out of there and stuck it into the trim pile for edibles. There were also piles of dead or dying fan leave in there where the new, smaller growth couldn't handle her nutrient regimen. Her uppers are huge and happy for the food so those bottom bits needed to go. Comparing her mass to Sam #1, who was harvested yesterday, my guess is that she will still come out of this at close to four ounces of dry bud when she's through. We'll call that a win. :-D The next time I grow a 3 Bears OG, however, she will have twice the room to grow from day one. Lesson learned, sort of. Day 67 - She looks REALLY close to done. There's amber visible everywhere I look on her and she's so heavy she needs to be propped up. Big roundish balls on the end of narrow stems. I'll probably give her a couple more days, but I could chop her today without guilt I think.

Woke up this morning and did my inspections. About 20-25% of her trichomes, on just about every bud, had gone amber overnight. After coming to grips with the prospect of doing two harvests in a row, in addition to being tired from working on my new grow space, I hunkered down and got to chopping. She was fairly easy to clean up and went into the dry box with Mandy. Seems like my dry space is averaging a four to five day dry cycle. Hopefully when the new grow space is ready I'll be able to slow that down a bit. 3 Bears OG was a lot of fun to grow, stank like gasoline and pine cleaner, and runs super potent. I will grow again as soon as I have more room. Which will be... very soon now. :-D EDIT - Dried she weighed 3.2 oz, with 21 grams of trim! Less than I thought but still great for my first grow!
