Popped on Jan 24th. Using airpots for the first time. Using Greenleaf Nutrients Megacrop for the 3rd time. I love the stuff! Also supplementing with NPK Calmag due to growing in pure coco. Trying coco without perlite this time as I've heard perlite isn't needed in coco because it is so light and airy to begin with and to try and reduce the watering frequency.
This strain seems to be doing the worst of the 4 for some reason. I did accidentally leave the humidity dome off on like day 3 or 4 so they got a little light burned, but 2 of the other strains did as well.
This strain was received as a tester directly from Barneys Farm.
Things are going pretty smooth this week. I accidentally watered with unphed water and while some of the other plants got a little stressed from it these ones were troopers and didnt seem to mind.
These ones arent quite ready for transplant yet but im hoping they will be once I chop my currently flowering autos in a few days.
This strain is definitely behind the whole pack but is still doing pretty well. Who knows, maybe the runt of the litter will wind up being the best? I will be transplanting the best of the 2 the next day I have a chance to prep some coco. Started watering with Real Growers recharge to introduce some bennies into the coco. Hopefully, we will see a difference in how well the plants grow and flower.
Things have been going well this last week. Decided it was time to do some topping to start my manifold. Topped down to the 3rd node and started to LST the branches down, after a few days, to form the manifold. I also left the branches from the 2nd node to see if it helped with recovery and might just keep them for the whole grow. Been able to water every 3 days with the pure coco which is nice and helps save me some nutes. This plant is #4 as far as size and growing vigor. It took a couple days to recover.
This past week has consisted of training everything flat with soft plant ties and topping for the 2nd and final time. With this plant, I am doing something a little different than the other 2 trainings with this one as I accidentally messed up and cut off a branch I didn't mean to. I topped but instead of only leaving 1 set of branches and stripping everything else I have left 2 sets of branches. Where I messed up was instead of stripping the 2nd node on 2 of the branches I accidentally stripped the 1st node and decided to take the 2nd node off as well. So this winds up with 2 branches with 1 node not stripped and 2 branches with 2 nodes not stripped. Doing it this way you wind up with 12 main colas. I'm curious as to how this will affect the plant's growth compared to the other 2 training styles I'm doing, has now caught up to it in size. She is still #4 for vigor and growth amongst the 4 strains. Still not quite sure why she's such a slow grower. Have also stopped adding calmag as I don't think they really need it anymore and Mega Crop provides a decent amount of calmag, to begin with.
