***UPDATE 11/23/24***
Started the germination process, all 3 should hopefully pop in the next 2 to 5 days, paper towel & ceramic plates at a PH of 5.8!
Put a stem to the side of the plate so I don't lose track of which order they are in !
Strains are:
Purple Punch (Auto)
Gorilla Glue #4 (Auto)
Strawberry Dawg Pie (Auto)
A couple freebies when I grabbed these, is always appreciated :) Ended up with an extra Strawberry Dawg Pie & 2 Cookie Puncher Auto's! Only have room for 3 in this space but will be sure to try the Cookie Puncher next run!
Ordered autoflower specific base nutrients from Cronk Nutrients! Should hopefully have them within the week! Will be running Bonnie & Clyde alongside Cronks CalMag, Sticky Bandit, Monkey Juice, Armadillo Armour & Bud Booster!
***UPDATE 11/25/24***
2/3 seeds have already germinated am just waiting on the Gorilla Glue #4 !
- Cleaned & vacuumed my area
- Set up light, ventilatation & wall timer, adjusted light accordingly, 25% power (270 uMOL)
- Printed & laminated labels for the air pots
- Taped over the LED on the power bar
The Purple Punch & Strawberry Dawg Pie are in the dirt, gave each of them a little bit of water at a PH of 5.9
There is a chance these ones could herm due to light leak unfortunately... Opening to the closet is only covered with a curtain I pinned up & it does not sit flush to the floor which leaves room for light leak...
Am gonna try & rig something up but might just go ahead & grab a new 2x4 tent on Black Friday! Currently have everything suspended from an old 2x4 frame I lost the reflective shell for... Am also gonna look into a small humidifier/dehumidifier
I could go 24/0 but want to keep these on a 20/4 schedule regardless of the setup...
When the lights shut off, the stomata on the leaves close which creates a reversal of the pressure gradient meaning the water from the roots is no longer flowing up like it is when the stomata are open, when they close, what ends up happening is the roots can secrete organic acids & all the biproducts of photosynthesis during the day back out into the rhizosphere (1mm to 2mm away from the root hairs), the secretion of the root exudates attracts the microbes/fungi & that's really where the plant can kinda modulate it's relationship with those micro organisms to help optimize the chemistry of whatever is going on
***UPDATE 11/26/24***
Is looking like the Gorilla Glue #4 might not germinate so I put another one in the ceramic dome with wet paper towel !
***UPDATE 11/27/24***
The second Gorilla Glue #4 germinated in roughly 24 hrs! Dropped it in the dirt & gave all 3 plants a little bit of water at a PH of 5.8
***UPDATE 11/28/24***
The Strawberry Dawg Pie is now above soil am just waiting on the other two plants before I start week 1!
Probably gonna need a small humidifier for this space RH is very low atm!
Nutrient arrived yesterday shall start using them after week 1 veg!
***UPDATE 11/29/24***
The Purple Punch is now above soil just waiting on the Gorilla Glue #4 to surface before starting week 1 veg!
Went ahead & grabbed a 2x4x6 tent + humidifier & a couple of clip fans in order to create a better environment for these plants, everything should be here Sunday!
The Strawberry Dawg Pie stretched a fair bit despite optimal light intensity
***UPDATE 12/01/24***
The Gorilla Glue #4 is now above soil!
Gave all 3 plants roughly 250ml of dechlorinated tap water at a PH of 5.9
Gonna set up the new 2x4 tent, humidifier & clip fans tomorrow afternoon + start week 1 veg!
***UPDATE 12/02/24***
Set up the 2x4 tent & no longer have to worry about light leak throughout the grow!
2 new mars hydro clip fans with some extra features my other 4 don't have which is nice! Put one on the ballast & the other is oscilating over the plants, temps are staying within that 23c - 26 range which is good!
Set up new humidifier & am now able to maintain 80% RH !
Adjusted light to where the tallest plant is now receiving 288 uMOL
Gonna try mainlining this go, shall be topping every 3 nodes up to 16 colas :P
***UPDATE 12/03/24***
So far so good! Had an issue with the humidifier this morning though... Rebought the same one I have downstairs & for some reason this specific model likes to run full blast without shutting off when it gets up over 80% RH sometimes... Woke up & the tent was soaked at 97.7% RH! Toweled everything down & have it set to 70% RH so I don't run into this problem again!
***UPDATE 12/04/24***
Gave each plant roughly 250ml of dechlorinated tap water at a PH of 5.9
Decided to hook my humidifier up to the wifi & can control RH from my phone + shut the screen off! Seems to be working proper now!
***UPDATE 12/05/24***
Plants responded well to yesterdays watering!
Humidifier is working proper now RH wise but for some odd reason blows hot mist every now & then when I have it set to cool mist, temps have remained inbetween 23c & 26c however this could be a problem in the summer time !
***UPDATE 10/06/24***
Messed around with the humidifier some more & regardless of what I do it just randomly starts blowing hot mist from time to time throughout the day when paired to my phone... Removed the device & am just gonna run it manually at 70% RH from here on out to avoid high temps!
***UPDATE 10/07/24***
Temps & RH were pretty good today! Nothing really needed to be done, these ones should need some more water tomorrow afternoon!
***UPDATE 10/08/24***
Decided to hold off on watering until early tomorrow morning at which point will feed for the 1st time!
***UPDATE 12/09/24***
Gave each plant roughly 350ml of dechlorinated tap water mixed with nutrients listed above at a PH of 6.0
***UPDATE 12/10/24***
Plants responded well to yesterdays feed!
Still having issues with the humidifier... Assume it's a faulty unit because I do not have this problem with the identical one in the other tent.. Is continuing to blow hot mist instead of cold mist regardless of what I set it too, is still maintaining RH for the most part but temps have been a few degrees higher than they should be as a result..
***UPDATE 12/11/24***
Nothing really needed to be done today, just refilled the humidifier is on the climb to 70% RH now :P
***UPDATE 12/12/24***
Gave each plant roughly 450ml of dechlorinated tap water at a PH of 6.0
Should be able to top & begin LST in the next couple of days!
***UPDATE 12/13/24***
2/3 plants responded well to yesterdays watering, the Strawberry Dawg Pie did not like 450ml of water, will dial it back some next feed just in case! Some clawing on new growth but should live!
***UPDATE 12/14/24***
Nothing really needed to be done today, they are gonna need a feed soon, am a bit behind starting the topping/mainlining process..
Gonna wait until watering day so the anchors will stick in the dirt, top & begin mainlining!
***UPDATE 12/15/24***
Gave each plant an evenly distributed 833ml of tap water mixed with nutrients listed below at a PH of 6.0
Armadillo Armour 0.10 ml/L
Bonnie 0.40 ml/L
Calmag 0.20 ml/L
Monkey Juice 0.40 ml/L
Sticky Bandit 0.40 ml/L
Topped all 3 plants & will start LST tomorrow morning!
***UPDATE 12/16/24***
Plants responded well to yesterdays feed! 833ml seemed to have worked well just needed to be evenly distributed!
Started LST, got all 3 plants anchored down & bumped the light intensity to where the tallest plant is now recieving 425 uMOL! WIll gradually increase to 600 depending on how they respond!
Some drywall dust up here as well that managed to make it's way into the tent! Gonna take the shop vac too it tomorrow morning!
***UPDATE 12/17/24***
Adjusted grow ties & anchored a couple more branches down!
The Strawberry Dawg Pie really bounced back & is looking the nicest out of the 3 imo!
1st time mainlining Auto's & probably wont have enough room in the 2x4 if I top every 3 nodes up to 16 tops! They stretched outwards a fair bit...
I think what I will do is leave that new growth on those 1st nodes totalling 8 & top on either the 3rd or 4th end nodes to make 16! If this works well & things aren't too congested while in flower will continue to do this with all my Auto's in the future!
***UPDATE 12/18/24***
Well shit!! Things went south pretty quick... Checked on the plants this afternoon & the top two branches on the Purple Punch snapped... Humidifier is still having problems & the Strawberry Dawg Pie is starting to claw again!
Taped the two branches on the Purple Punch back into place, am hoping it's able to make a recovery, they are pretty bad breaks! Adjusted grow ties on the other 2 plants but will be leaving the Purple Punch alone for now as it recovers!
Set the humidifier to 55% RH to try & maintain 60 - 65, was hoping the humidifier would sort itself out has been on/off doing what it's supposed too but think it's best I check & see if I'm still within the return window & grab a replacement! This is what i assume has caused the Strawberry Dawg Pie to claw as it is the closest plant to the humidifier & when it decides it's just gonna do what it wants will get up into the 90's & blow hot mist...
Plants are gonna need water later on tonight, will be 833ml of dechlorinated tap water at a PH of 6.0!
***UPDATE 12/19/24***
Plants responded well to last nights watering, 833ml of dechlorinated tap water at a PH of 6.0
Is looking like I will probably end up loosing one of the branches on the Purple Punch but the one across from it should recover! Gonna get some more tape in there shortly to support the branch a little better!
Still within the return window humidifier wise, am gonna sort all of that out tomorrow morning once my pay hits!
***UPDATE 12/20/24***
The Purple Punch & Gorilla Glue #4 have begun to flower! Does look like the Purple Punch might make a full recovery, that second branch just needed a little bit more time to start growing again! Lower fan leaves are still droopy but the branch itself has perked up & newer growth is reaching towards the light!
Missed a few water droplets on the leaves when I watered last, is a tough area to work in, am literally shoulder to shoulder with the back end of my desk & boxes when sitting in front of the tent! Little bit of burn but nothing major!
Only have experience with a singular auto from my past, was an AK-49 I squeezed into a photoperiod grow while they were 12/12 before LED was a thing xD Gonna do a little bit of research & see what is the next best move in regards to mainlining, not quite sure if it would be a good idea to top up to 8 while they are pre flowering, had a Purple Star Killer photoperiod last run that I topped during pre flower & it didn't seem to mind but no idea how this will effect auto's! Did read I'm ok to do whatever up until week 3 flower but am gonna double check this before I continue!
The Strawberry Dawg Pie hasn't started to flower yet & I should be able to get up to 8 or 16 tops without having to worry, I repositioned all 3 plants & moved the Strawberry Dawg Pie to the far side of the tent away from the humidifier & have the Gorilla Glue #4 closest to it atm since it is the shortest of the 3
At this point I don't think I'm gonna bother with the return process in regards to the humidifier, it tends to do what it is supposed too when it is set to anything less than 65% RH, currently have it set to 50% RH & I'm getting 55 - 56 ish, gonna dial it back to 45% to get it closer to 50!
Didn't really think everything through when I grabbed seeds! Start to finish times are all different & I might run into issues adjusting PPFD while they are all at different stages of growth w/o boosting 1 or 2 of them closer to the light in order to get optimal light intensity! Is looking like I'm gonna have to mix two differen't batches of water during feed over the next week or two as well!
Still have 3 - 5 seeds left of each strain, thinking it would be a better idea to run the same strain in unison or do a variety that is on similar time next go in order to avoid complications while creating more work for myself!
***UPDATE 12/21/24***
Gave each plant roughly 1333ml of dechlorinated tap water mixed with nutrients listed below at a PH of 6.4
Armadillo Armour: 0.10 ml/L
Clyde: 1.25ml/L
Calmag: 0.50ml/L
Bud Booster: 0.50 ml/L
Monkey Juice: 1ml/L
Sticky Bandit: 1ml/L
All 3 plants are currently in preflower so I switched over from Bonnie to Clyde!
Went through & did a fairly heavy defoliation & some more LST! The Purple Punch is actually doing quite well despite two of the main branches breaking 3 days ago!
Lowered the light to where the tallest plant is now receiving roughly 525 uMOL! Will gradually try & bump up to 900 - 1,000 as they continue to grow through flower!
***12/22/24***
Plants responded extremely well to yesterdays feed & the bump in light intensity!
Tomorrow I'm gonna go through & LST some more, quite happy with the bounce back even the Strawberry Dawg Pie is doing better, not as much clawing after feed!
Realized this afternoon I accidentally gave them 1ml of bud booster vs the .50 listed above, hoping I don't run into any problems potassium wise over the next couple of days as there is a fair bit of potassium in the other mixtures as well, I had problems with it last grow prior to checking data analysis on the nutrients!
***UPDATE 12/23/24***
All 3 plants started preflowering within 2 days of eachother a couple days ago & are on similar time! Was originally thinking Vegetative stage would all vary amongst them, now know I got 19 to 21 days to mainline before preflower with these ones & can continue growing varieties in the 2x4!
Went through & did some more LST aside from that not much needed to be done today!
Feed wise I think I will probably drop the Monkey Juice, Sticky Bandit & Bud Booster down to 0.50ml/L vs 1ml/L, a little bit of burn here & there from the last feed, had the Monkey Juice & Sticky Bandit at 1ml/L & accidentally gave them 1ml/L Bud Booster instead of the 0.50ml/L that was originally planned! Aside from this all is good!
Still some drywall dust thats been flying around, am gonna try my best to get all of that out of the grow area before things really take off! Quickly learned this is one of thee messiest things you can have around a grow tent! Not harmful to the plants but sticks to the leaves & really cakes into clip fans, exhaust & Humidifier!
***UPDATE 12/24/24***
Gave each plant roughly 1333ml of dechlorinated tap water at a PH of 6.1
Explosive growth as they begin too stretch but they do not like the garden sprayer! Hopefully they perk up a bit tomorrow!
***UPDATE 12/25/24***
Plants responded well to yesterdays watering!
Went through with a heavy defoliation!
The Strawberry Dawg Pie is still clawing... Nute wise would think it's potassium I need to worry about currently after that last feed but this is looking like a nitrogen issue!
Humidifier is currently off & the tent has been in around 50 - 55% RH throughout the day which is good, am hoping the plants pick up a little bit over the next couple of days!
Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays everyone!!
***UPDATE 12/26/24***
Plants are doing good & responded well to defoliation! They are drinking fast during the stretch & will probably need more water tomorrow morning!
Cleaned the filters inside my AC unit & temps inside the tent are right in around the sweet spot after a few external adjustments!
***UPDATE 12/27/24***
Gave each plant roughly 1333ml of dechlorinated tap water mixed with nutrients listed above at a PH of 6.0
Plants are doing well but drooping a little longer than usual after using the garden sprayer for todays feed, hopefully they perk up a little bit tomorrow! I think the velocity of the garden sprayer agitates the roots & causes them to droop, I get the same results in my 4x4 as well as that prior grow anytime I use the sprayer!
Temps & RH are pretty much dialed in once again after cleaning the external AC!
Am hoping I don't run into any problems nutrient wise as I did decide to put half of what's recommended on the feed chart but it still seems like alot this early on! Went against my own better judgement & figured I may as well just run half anyways to see how they respond so I don't have to guess in the future but 1ml bud booster & 1ml sticky bandit alongside base nutrients in the same feed seems like a lot when compared to the photo's I ran in the 4x4 last go (Issue with potassium toxicity linked directly to these specific bottles).. If they burn over the next couple of days or I have to fight nutrient lockout will be halving the bud booster & sticky bandit for the remainder of the grow + all future grows which would be 1/4 of the recommendation on the feed chart!
Ordered a new humidifier & I should have that Monday afternoon!
***UPDATE 12/28/24***
Plants responded well to yesterdays feed & have bounced back quite nicely! Some explosive growth overnight during the stretch, I couldn't even fit the Purple Punch in frame today while taking a birdseye photo because of the light!
Am comfortable running higher concentrations of nutes so long as I don't run into any issues with potassium along the way, everything looks great so far which is good!
The Strawberry Dawg Pie is still clawing, gonna keep an eye on this one!
Temps/RH have been pretty good today, warmer day & all of the snow melted, RH is up in the house right now but still managable!
From here the plan is to slowly bump the PPFD towards 1000 after the stretch, they are currently sitting at about 550 uMOL while the light is at 50% (210w)
***UPDATE 12/29/24***
The Strawberry Dawg Pie isn't looking all too great! Upon closer inspection this is definitely a nitrogen toxicity! The Purple Punch may head south as well but the Gorilla Glue #4 seems to be unphased!
Pots were basically dry & I could have waited until tomorrow morning but decided to give each plant roughly 1333ml of dechlorinated tap water at a PH of 6.5 after taking photos!
Switched over to General Hydroponics PH down from an off brand & noticed right off the bat only have to use a 3rd of what I normally use to bring the PH down! Forgot to check but am curious if this will effect PPM shall check next watering!
Raised the light up to where the tallest plant is now recieving 500 uMOL of light, was gonna let them stretch w/o raising the light but want to try & eliminate any potential stress as they recover
Will be halving Sticky Bandit & Bud Booster for the remainder of the grow & probably keep it at that in future grows, 0.5ml/L will be 1/4 of what the feed chart recommends! Nutes are great but this is the 2nd time i've run into problems while running half of the recommendation! Next feed am gonna lower Clyde down to 1ml/L as well & bump up too 1.5ml/L afterwards so long as everything works out!
Set up new humidifier & it seems to work well! No % settings on the physical unit but set everything up in the app in order to maintain 45% - 50% RH, resevoir is tinted clear plastic which means I might end up with algae in there over time (hopefully not)!
***UPDATE 12/30/24***
Start of week 2 & is looking like nutrient lockout is imminent! The Strawberry Dawg Pie is looking pretty rough & no longer drinking... The Purple Punch is headed south as well (looks worse in person)...
In regards to top growth leaves are curling downwards & tacoing inwards + discoloration
Will be sticking to the nutrient mixture listed above for the rest of the grow as well as all future grows auto wise, half the recommendation on the feed chart is too much & had a strong feeling I was gonna run into problems even at half...
Possibility they might still make it, a terrible time to be running into issues, does look like things are only gonna get progressively worse over the next while...
Gonna stick to plain dechlorinated tap water at a PH of 6.2 for now & hopefully they are able to recover some, also gonna rearrange them so the Strawberry Dawg Pie is closest to the clip fan!
Temps & RH have been good today, hygrometer is sitting in the Strawberry Dawg Pie's pot & readings are higher as a result because medium is still fully saturated!
***12/31/24***
Early morning update on these ones today! Honestly thought this could have been game over but the Strawberry Dawg Pie & Purple Punch are already showing signs of improvement in roughly 9 hours time!
Top growth on the Strawberry Dawg Pie is still curled downwards, clawed & tacoing inwards but healthier growth towards the middle/bottom has perked up a little bit which makes me think I just barely avoided a nutrient lockout!
Top growth on the Purple Punch has started to uncurl but the downwards tacoing still remains! I took some photos pointing upwards so that can be seen clearer!
Lowered the clip fan & rearranged the plants & that seemed to have worked well, kept the Strawberry Dawg Pie closest to the clip fan to dry the medium out quicker!
Removed a couple of leaves covering bud sites towards the middle of the plants am gonna leave everything else until they make a full recovery
Plan is to stick to plain dechlorinated tap water at a PH of 6.1 for as long as I can as they continue to recover!
Happy New Years everyone!!
*** UPDATE 01/01/25***
2/3 plants aren't looking so great... Aside from nutrient issues I also think overwatering has played a roll in their decline!
Been having some issues with the water itself I believe... Usually just leave tap water in a bucket for 3 days & give it the occasional stir to dechlorinate, have ran into issues in both my current setups!
Noticed other growers using Cronk are able to run much higher concentrations nutrients wise as well as more water during earlier stages of growth without any problems & I haven't been able to decipher what's gone wrong over here on my end...
Ordered a fish pump & some air stones so I can start aerating my water! Possibility the roots aren't getting enough oxygen despite air pots & Promix HP as the medium, am also gonna start transplanting in future grows in order to utilize the air pots!
Temps & RH have been good today!
Left the clip fan on the Strawberry Dawg Pie so it can dry out a little quicker, the Purple Punch seems to be the only one of three that's doing well atm & I'm gonna gauge the next watering off of that one whenever it decides to droop! Is currently the only 1/3 thats perked up, pot is light & medium is close to bone dry!
Also noticed I screwed the Gorilla Glue #4's air pot together on the wrong row of spikes & the pot is smaller than the other two as a result! Aside from the current droop it seems asthough it has been the plant with the least amount of issues throughout the entire grow thus far!
***UPDATE 01/02/25***
Gave each plant 1L of dechlorinated tap water at a PH of 6.1
They seem to be recovering rather quickly, the Purple Punch is no longer clawing/curling or tacoing inwards! As for the Strawberry Dawg Pie middle growth has perked up a bit after this mornings watering!
With the Strawberry Dawg Pie am probably stuck with clawing/curly leaves towards the top for the remainder of the grow, on the + side everything is still alive & nothing has turned crispy or brown!
Overwatering definitely played a roll in some of these issues!
Fish pump & air stones should be here tomorrow afternoon, I already got water sitting out for next go & will start aerating as soon as that shows up!
Temps & RH have been good so far today
Hopefully things continue to improve!
***UPDATE 01/03/24***
Plants responded well to yesterdays watering! I'm gonna keep it at 1L per plant for now!
Things are continuing to pick up! I'm probably safe to feed the Purple Punch & Gorilla Glue #4 next time they need water but am gonna keep the Strawberry Dawg Pie on plain water over the next little while!
Fish bubbler showed up today & have water aerating for the next go!
Went ahead & bumped the light intensity up to where the tallest plant is now receiving 700 uMOL of light after taking photo's this afternoon!
***UPDATE 01/04/25***
Plants do not seem to mind the bump in light intensity so far which is good!
The Strawberry Dawg Pie is definitely drinking again should probably water later on this afternoon! Had the clip fan over the medium & was rotating pot every couple of hours to dry it out quicker just in case & it ended up drying out completely where as the other two probably aren't gonna need water until tomorrow afternoon/early Monday morning, thinking it should be safe to feed those two when the time comes, they seem to be doing well!
Temps & RH have been a little bit off after increasing light intensity but got them to where it seems to be managable just had to roll the external AC closer to the tent!
Aerated water seems to have worked extremely well in my other setup & I'm hoping i see some significant improvements over here in this tent as well!
Strawberry Dawg Pie got 1L of dechlorinated tap water at a PH of 6.1 around 7pm
***UPDATE 02/05/25***
Gave the Purple Punch & Gorilla Glue #4 1L of dechlorinated tap water each mixed with nutrients listed above at a PH of 6.0
The Purple Punch has remained perked up where as the Gorilla Glue #4 stayed drooped after todays watering, pots were dry & at this current stage not quite sure if 1L per plant is too much would be crazy if it is! Am hoping the GG4 looks a little bit better tomorrow!
The Strawberry Dawg Pie is still looking pretty rough but better than it was! Am hoping I can just keep it on regular water over the next little while without running into anymore issues!
Temps & RH are back on point but ran into a problem with this new humidifier earlier on in the day! Decided to just go full blast for a little while & got up to 80% before I caught it & switched back to auto mode, it seems to be working fine now but unsure why it switched over to manual, will continue to monitor!
***UPDATE 01/06/25***
The Purple Punch & Gorilla Glue #4 responded well to yesterdays feed, the Gorilla Glue #4 has perked back up & is looking much better than it was yesterday!
Gonna contine on with mixture listed above every other watering & keep the Strawberry Dawg Pie on plain water for the rest of the week just to be safe!
Temps & RH are pretty much on point today!
***UPDATE 01/07/25***
Went through & defoliated/lollipopped towards the bottom of the plants, left a fair number of bud sites towards the bottom of the Purple Punch because foliage is not as dense & the buds seem to be growing at roughly the same pace, the photperiods I just ran prior left a bud at the very bottom center of a plant with dense foliage & it fully matured without any direct light, was still dense with a lot of crystal after drying am thinking the lower bud sites that I've left on these autos should do well!
Leaves & bud sites I pulled off already have a strong smell of peppery gas & cantalope, really noticed when I clumped everything together & gave it a whiff, majority of what I removed was from the GG4, goes right up the nose pungent & dank! Actually never came across GG4 in the wild am stoked to try that one once it's finished!
Temps & RH have been good today, water tomorrow morning!
***UPDATE 01/08/25***
Gave each plant 1L of dechlorinated tap water at a PH of 6.1
The plants have started to yellow, the Strawberry Dawg Pie being the worst of the 3, am thinking it is probably a deficiency at this point in regards to that one but not quite sure about the other two..
Plan is to continue on with nutrient mixture listed above & will feed the Strawberry Dawg Pie as well next feed! Might bump Clyde up to 1.5ml/L after this next feed, will see how they are doing once the time comes!
***UPDATE 01/09/25***
Checked a bunch of other diaries & is looks like yellowing around week 3 flower is fairly common with autoflowers, am not so worried about 2/3 plants after seeing this! The Strawberry Dawg Pie isn't drinking again & I'm leaning more towards nutrient deficiency with that one, will be sure to feed alongside the other two next watering!
Lowered the clip fan so the Strawberry Dawg Pie can dry out a little bit quicker & will rotate the pot every couple of hours for an even dry, aside from this everything seems to be doing well so far!
***UPDATE 01/10/25***
Nothing needed to be done today, am gonna feed all 3 plants with nutrient mixture listed above early tomorrow morning!
Temps & RH have been good so far today!
***UPDATE 01/11/25***
Gave each plant 1L of dechlorinated tap water mixed with nutrients listed above at a PH of 6.1
All 3 plants yellowed some more quite fast overnight prior to todays feed
Boosted the Gorilla Glue #4 & Strawberry Dawg Pie closer to the light to create a more even canopy & the tallest plant is now recieving 870 uMOL of light! Will keep an eye on them over the next couple days & adjust the light if neccessary, DLI is currently sitting at 62.58 & I had read 50 to 55 is considered to be ideal for autoflower, 870 uMOL might be a bit much on a 20hr schedule, will have to wait & see!
Temps & RH have been good today, RH is reading a bit higher than it actually is because hygrometer is sitting in a freshly watered pot!
Hopefully they continue to do well after the bump in light intensity, the tallest branch on the Purple Punch was already up around 870 uMOL & no damage whatsoever which has me thinking this should be ok!
Grabbed the seed to finish times for each plant which gives me a better idea on when things will finish:
Purple Punch - 63 Days from seed
Gorilla Glue #4 - 70 Days from seed
Strawberry Dawg Pie - 75 to 80 Days from seed
***UPDATE 01/12/25***
Plants responded well to yesterdays feed as well as the bump in light intensity from what I can tell so far!
Leaves that have been yellowing are gonna die vs change color like they do on my photoperiods which kinda sucks!
The Purple Punch will be the 1st one to finish according too the seed to finish time. it should be done in 21 more days, am hoping there is enough foliage left in order for the buds to fully develop, fan leaves are starting to die at a rapid pace!
Temps & RH have been pretty good today!
Start of week 4 flower tomorrow!
***UPDATE 01/13/25***
Plants are gonna need water early tomorrow morning
RH is good but temps have been a bit high throughout the day so far, should come back down in an hour or so!
***UPDATE 01/14/25***
Gave each plant 1L of dechlorinated tap water at a PH of 6.1
Switched nozzle on my garden sprayer & it now sprays a heavy mist vs a more pressurized direct stream!
Little bit of color coming through on some of the dying foliage, hopefully what sticks & stays will change too :P
***UPDATE 01/15/25***
Plants responded well to yesterdays watering!
Went through & removed all dying leaves that would just pull off without a struggle
Noticed dying foliage is bleaching as it dies but tops & healthy foliage remain in tact, should be ok to leave the light where it's at & continue on with 870 uMOL!
RH was good today but temps are a little bit higher, will see what I can do to bring them down a couple of degrees!
***UPDATE 01/16/25***
Took some bud shots & a bit of crystal has started coming in!
Not expecting all too much out of these plants, ran into issues with nutrients during flower + overwatering early on in the grow, 1L seems to work best as well as nutrient mixture listed above, will be sticking to that when it's time for that next run!
***UPDATE 01/17/25***
Gave each plant 1L of dechlorinated tap water mixed with nutrients listed above at a PH of 6.3
Backed the light off a little bit shortly after taking pictures today because they did bleach quite a bit over the past couple of days, the tallest plant is recieving roughly 750 uMOL of light & is now within that 50 - 55 DLI range
Had some issues uploading over the past couple of days! Would get an error message anytime I tried to post! Ended up redoing the entire week & didn't select any grow technique options, this seems to have fixed the problem!
Temps & RH have been pretty good so far today! RH is reading higher than it actually is because hygrometer is sitting in the pot of a freshly watered plant
***UPDATE 01/18/25***
Plants responded well to yesterdays feed!
Went through & removed some more leaves that would just pull off without a struggle
Despite the Strawberry Dawg Pie having the most problems throughout the grow it is actually the one with the most color/crystal thus far & is the one that's supposed to finish last!
Buds are kind of small in comparison to the other two plants, was labeled as 75-85 days from seed where as the Purple Punch is 63 days & the Gorilla Glue #4 is 70 days!
Heard a lot of good things about Butterbean Birdseed! I will probably run the Strawberry Dawg Pie again alongside some of their other genetics in a future grow!
Curious how they will stack up against the box set I just ordered from Crossbone Genetics for the next run once issues are minimalized & everything is dialed in!
I have a pretty good feel for the new setup at this point & found what seems to work best water/nutrient wise as well!
1st time giving autos an actual go, plant wise is maybe not a good idea to mainline & keep 20 - 24 ish tops per plant as the buds are quite small!
Thinking I will try one more time & see if other factors are responsible for this, 16 might be the sweet spot in regards to what I'm after!
Temps & RH have been pretty good today! Strategically placed the external AC to bring temps down a bit & everything is looking good so far!
Might grab one of those Spider Farmer humidifiers with the hose at some point so I can fit 4 plants inside the 2x4 vs 3 :P
***UPDATE 01/19/25***
Not much needed to be done today
Removed some more leaves that would just pull off without a struggle
A fair bit of color really starting to come through on the Strawberry Dawg Pie which is good!
***UPDATE 01/20/25***
Gave each plant 1L of dechlorinated tap water at a PH of 6.0
Went through & removed some more leaves that would just pull off without a struggle
Brand new humidifier is leaving calcium all around the tent & some of it has stuck to the Strawberry Dawg Pie... Once it runs out of water I'm just gonna leave it off until these finish up! Not entirely sure if the water treatment plant does something different during the winter or it could be something with the pipes but this was never a problem during my last grow & both setups have this issue atm despite the same water source!
The Purple Punch & Gorilla Glue #4 are looking somewhat promising yield wise & seem to be doing good!
Is hard to tell by the pictures but am thinking the Strawberry Dawg Pie will be very low yield unless it bulks up a bit over the coming weeks, tops are currently looking like they will be less than half a gram a piece once they're dry... There is a chance it might actually die before it reaches full maturity! Leaves have shrunk quite a bit which I've never seen before! Looks ok in the photos but much worse in person! Will have to run again at a later date, want to grow this one to it's full potential, a finicky plant that would probably turn out amazing if I was to cater to it's needs! The smell is still insane despite the overall health of the plant & size of the buds, decent trichome coverage as well, could have been the best of the 3 from what I'm seeing so far!
I am also gonna remove the Armadillo Armour from the feed every other feed during the rest of the grow as it may have played a part in some of the bleaching! Still not 110% sure of this but I think it must have something to do with it because my photoperiods from last go started to bleach in odd spots as well when I upped the dosage prior to a bump in light intensity!
***UPDATE 01/21/25***
Plants responded well to yesterdays watering!
Not much needed to be done today, the humidifier is out of water & I think I'm just gonna leave it off for the remainder of the grow so long as temps are managable!
***UPDATE 01/24/25***
Gave each plant 1L of dechlorinated tap water mixed with nutrients listed above minus the Armadillo Armour at a PH of 6.1
***UPDATE 01/25/25***
Plants responded well to yesterdays feed!
Bit of a late update, have been sick over the past couple of days & was 24hrs late on yesterdays feed, temps have been high & humidity low, plants have really started to yellow!
Went through & removed all foliage that would just pull off without a struggle, not quite sure if the majority of the damage was caused by heat stress & a late watering... There is a possibility the Purple Punch & Gorilla Glue #4 are just getting closer to the end of their life cycle & I have just overthunk it...
It is technically Day 60 from seed for the Purple Punch & Strawberry Dawg Pie (decided to mark day 1 when all 3 plants were above soil when I created the diary vs tap root)
the Purple Punch was marked at 63 Days from seed, pistils have started to darken but could see it going another couple of weeks in order to fully mature!
Despite the original issues with the Strawberry Dawg Pie & the 75-80 Day from seed mark it is looking like it is the one that has developed the most thus far!
Gonna try & bring the temps down a bit asap!
***UPDATE 01/26/25***
Nothing really needed to be done today, managed to bring the temps down a bit & RH has been pretty good as well!
***UPDATE 01/28/25***
Gave each plant 1L of dechlorinated tap water at a PH of 6.1
Was a day late watering again... Have been sick but am starting to feel a lot better ! I should be able to keep up with the grow & diary over the coming days!
Plants are in rough shape... Will be staying within the proper DLI next go I don't think the Armadillo Armour is to blame in this case... 2/3 have bleached pretty bad & a lot of foliage is dying off... Not very proud of myself for this run & will be sure to do a proper job next go!
I'm not 100% sure if these plants will reach full maturity, am gonna continue to grow them out & just hope for the best at this point !
Today is Day 2 of week 9 & is looking like they will need another 3 weeks or so prior to fully maturing if they decide to live!
***UPDATE 01/29/25***
Plants responded well to yesterdays watering!
Managed to get the temps/RH within the sweet spot
Although the Strawberry Dawg Pie looks absolutely caked is actually calcium that has stuck to the plant while it's sat close to the humidifier which has added definition to the hairs on the leaves & trichomes!
Really not happy with this run at the end of the day, upon closer inspection the plants may still fully mature but know I could have done a much better job overall!
Am a bit late but raised the light to where the tallest plant is now recieving roughly 685 uMOL of light, a DLI of 49.56
***UPDATE 01/30/25***
Adjusted the light for a 3rd time today after receiving the correct information! Decided to go with 593.2 uMOL for the tallest plant, a DLI of 42.71! Another grower was saying the max DLI you want to put on autoflowers would be 44 without CO2 which would be 611.11 uMOL, will be using this as a rule of thumb from now on so I don't scorch anymore plants! 600 uMOL max on the highest point/hottest spot while on a 20/4 schedule without CO2, will also keep in mind certain strains may still scorch on the higher end of the 30 - 44 spectrum!
Went through & removed dead/dying foliage that would just pull off without a struggle
RH has been good but temps are pretty high so far today, should be able to bring them back down over the next hour or so !
***UPDATE 01/31/25***
Gave each plant 1L of dechlorinated tap water mixed with nutrients listed above at a PH of 6.1
***02/01/25***
Plants responded well to yesterdays feed!
After running into problems throughout the grow & seeing the damage had basically given up on this run... Upon closer inspection there is still a fair amount of green left! Some color in throughout & trichs are also coming in nicely, is also looking like plants will indeed fully mature as well!
Despite scorching the hell out of these plants am thinking it will still be a half decent turn out by the time things are said & done!
Temps & RH have been pretty good today!
Grabbed some demineralizing pucks for my humidifiers to eliminate white dust & they should be here later today, am really hoping these work!
***02/02/25***
Nothing really needed to be done today plant wise
Got those demineralizing pucks for the humidifier & am gonna throw a couple in there shortly !
Temps & RH have been pretty good today although RH is kinda low
***UPDATE 02/03/25***
Gave each plant 1L of dechlorinated tap water at a PH of 6.0
Thinking these still need another 2-3 weeks before It's time to chop them down!
***UPDATE 02/04/25***
Plants responded well to yesterdays watering!
Demineralizing pucks for the humidifier seem to be working quite well!
Temps & RH have been on point so far today as well!
***UPDATE 02/05/25***
Things are still just slowly chugging along, hoping to see some red hairs sometime soon!
Feed day early tomorrow morning!
***UPDATE 02/06/25***
Gave each plant 1L of dechlorinated tap water mixed with nutrients listed above at a PH of 6.0
***UPDATE 02/07/25***
Plants responded well to yesterdays feed!
Trichs are really starting to come in which is nice to see! The Strawberry Dawg Pie definitely has the most dominant terpenes out of the 3! Entire tent just smells like burnt rubber/gas & a little bit of skunk!
***UPDATE 02/08/25***
Nothing really needed to be done today, some red hairs starting to come in on the Purple Punch & Gorilla Glue #4!
Watering day tomorrow!
***UPDATE 02/09/25***
Gave each plant 1L of dechlorinated tap water at a PH of 6.1
Plants really started to bulk out & crystalize during week 7!
Didn't mess up as bad as I had originally thought but is looking like these will still need a couple more weeks in order to fully mature!
***UPDATE 02/10/25***
Plants responded well to yesterdays watering!
Not much needed to be done today, temps/RH have been on point so far which is good!
Some of the buds have started to foxtail a little bit, am gonna try & keep temps inbetween 23c - 26c for the remainder of the grow!
***UPDATE 02/11/25***
Managed to keep temps/RH in a good spot throughout the entire day today!
Buds are really starting to bulk out which is good!
***UPDATE 02/12/25***
Gave each plant 1L of dechlorinated water mixed with nutrients listed above at a PH of 6.3
Removed a majority of the dead foliage that would just pull off without a struggle!
***UPDATE 02/13/25***
Plants responded well to yesterdays feed!
Having some issues with the humidifier in my other setup & can't grab another one until the end of the month, if unable to temporarily fix the problem I'm gonna move the one in this 2x4 over to the 4x4!
Temps & RH have been good today! Gonna try & track down one of those Spider Farmer humidifiers with the hose on payday, can be set up outside the tent & will allow me to squeeze an extra plant into the 2x4 next run if I can find one!
If auto's are anything like photoperiods during the flowering cycle is looking like these ones are still gonna need another 2 or 3 weeks before they are fully matured! Am thinking the Gorilla Glue #4 might be the one to finish 1st, only time will tell!
Terp wise the Strawberry Dawg pie is still overpowering everything in the open air! Smells like burnt rubber, fuel & a little bit of skunk, a tad bit of sweetness, am really liking this terp profile so far is quite unique!
The Gorilla Glue #4 smells like sour melons & rich sweet chemicals, exactly as described! There is even a hint of spice & coffee in there too! Never had a bag of this before but it reminds me of some higher grade kush I use to try & grab any chance I got back in the day which was a nice surprise!
The Purple Punch is the nose stinger out of the 3! Smells like pungent citrus, sour berries & perfume! No sweetness in there at all! These smells overpower a very sharp pine as well!
Is shaping up to be a fairly decent run & am excited for these ones to finish as they get closer to the end dates! Smell alone I know all 3 of these are gonna be fire despite user error! Was always skeptical in regards to autoflowers because of others opinions on ruderalis & a singular AK49 from Vision Seeds I carelessly threw under HPS alongside some photoperiods during 12/12...
Will definitely grow all 3 of these again at some point just simply based off smell & autoflowers are a thing I'm gonna continue on with in this dedicated space, indefinitely!
Will upload some trichome shots during the next week of flower !
***UPDATE 02/14/25***
Was late getting to things today & temps were higher than I wanted them to be, decided to leave the humidifier in here for now & will be keeping the tent door open during lights on in order to lower temps a bit as these continue to finish up!
Watering day tomorrow!
***UPDATE 02/15/25***
Gave each plant 1L of dechlorinated tap water at a PH of 6.3
Ended up moving the humidifier into my other setup until I'm able to grab a replacement for the Homvana that conked out! Might see if I'm still within the return window & send the Levoit back, it isn't able to maintain RH in a 4x4 & still want to try & grab one that can be set up outside of this 2x4 so I can squeeze an extra plant in there next go! It does work really well in the 2x4 but would prefer the extra space if I can manage!
***UPDATE 02/17/25***
Nothing really needed to be done today, temps have been good but RH has been very low! Have to wait until the 28th to grab a new humidifier...
Took some trichome shots & the Strawberry Dawg Pie is looking like it's done! Would have never thought just eyeballing it although the calcium dust has made it harder to tell & can really see the extent of what has stuck to the plant in the trichome shots!
2/3 of my seeds had germinated November 25th 2024 & after checking the dates quick tomorrow is actually day 85 if I was to go by the germination date! Started day 1 of my diary once all 3 plants were above soil so days are a technically a bit behind!
Crazy precise timing overall! Tomorrow also marks the 3 month cure on my last harvest to the day!
I might chop the Strawberry Dawg Pie Tomorrow & will probably use that one for extracts if the smoke is off, may also try rinsing/washing the bud before I hang it up to dry! The Purple Punch & Gorilla Glue #4 still need some more time prior to the chop! Last watering was a plain watering & am thinking I might go 1 more plain watering as flush if I can get away with it! Did not think the Strawberry Dawg Pie was done yet ! In regards to the other 2 i will be continuing on with plain water for the remainder of the grow !
***UPDATE 02/18/24***
Gave each plant 1L of dechlorinated tap water at a PH of 6.3
Decided to just rinse all the calcium dust off the Strawberry Dawg Pie this morning with the garden sprayer & it worked much better than I thought it would! After rinsing all the bud I shook the plant, gripped each nug with paper towel to absorb the excess moisture & kept the fan on it throughout the day while rotating the plant every couple of hours! It was basically dry within the 1st hour & a half & particles from the paper towel did not stick to the plant whatsoever, difference is night & day when looking at the trichome shots!
A lot of amber as is but figured I would water it one last time & chop once the pot has dried out in roughly 3 days time because this one didn't get much of a flush!
Temps & RH have been pretty good today have managed to stay under 28c throughout the entire day!
***UPDATE 02/19/25***
Plants responded well to yesterdays watering!
Not much needs to be done today, temps have remained below 28c, RH is still kind of low!
***UPDATE 02/20/25***
Nothing needs to be done today, watering day tomorrow!
Am gonna chop the Strawberry Dawg Pie as well tomorrow afternoon!
