Bartman91 First ever grow and in week 3 of flower im absolutely over the moon with how she's looking. She's been ... so far, really easy to work with and has withstood the accidental snapping of her main stem and a lower stem. A bit of medical tape and a couple of weeks and she was as good as new. The plant has been real bushy all the way through and I'm constantly removing leaves so light can get to other bud sights tho this is always something I hate doing as iv always read you should limit to how often you defoliate but it seems a weekly task with this girl.

You really don't need to worry about defoliation unless you have an incredibly congested canopy with a lot of crowding, aka several plants with multiple tops. In those circumstances there are benefits, but it typically doesn't apply to 95% of the people who ask the question. When you have wall to wall tops and when you run your hand through the branches you find damp spots, THAT'S when you start considering it.

Just remember............. Less leaves = less energy being made = less potential growth. If the plant would not need those leaves, it would not grow them in the first place! Why defoliate? What for? Leaves are ESSENTIAL for proper plant growth and functioning. Just remember............ Maximum amount of leaves = maximum amount of energy production = maximum amount of yield.

She dont need any defoliation. People dont understand why to use it. What is nice for human eye, dont work for plants. You would have 2 or 3 times more branches in same space - would say you need it and timing would be right, but not with this plant...
