Germination Phase
This time, I'm taking a step-by-step approach to germination for each strain. I started with Gorilla Fast, germinating the seeds on 25th November and planting them on 27th November. Next came Original Oreoz, planted on 29th November, followed by Girl Scout Cookies on 1st December, and finally, Permanent White Marker on 3rd December.
All seeds were placed in 10cm pots using a soil-based medium mixed with coco husk, crushed coral, and rice husk biochar to create a balanced and aerated base for strong roots.
This grow is special—I'm determined to do it right after two failed attempts. Fingers crossed for these young ladies to grow strong and healthy! Let's see how it goes this time around.
Week 1 Grow Report
Overview:
This week marks the start of my grow, and the seedlings are settling in nicely. I planted Gorilla Fast, Original Oreoz, Girl Scout Cookies, and Permanent White Marker in a soil-based medium mixed with coco husk, crushed coral, and biochar. So far, everything looks promising!
Growth Progress:
Most plants are showing vibrant green leaves, with the first set of true leaves fully developed.
They are standing tall and stable with no signs of stretching or deficiencies.
Environment Management:
Watering: I watered lightly this morning to maintain soil moisture without over-saturating the medium.
Light: Kept the lights at an optimal height to ensure even coverage and prevent stretching.
Observations:
A bit of moss/algae has appeared on the topsoil of some pots, likely due to high humidity and moisture levels. I’ll monitor closely and adjust watering/airflow to prevent any issues.
Plans for Next Week:
Monitor growth and begin preparing for light feeding if needed around the end of Week 2.
Keep adjusting watering and light distance as the plants grow.
Hoping these young ladies continue to thrive! Let’s see how they progress next week.
Week 2 Recap
This week, the plants have shown steady growth overall. Most are developing healthy foliage with vibrant green leaves, though one plant appears stunted and has yellowing leaves. It may be dealing with overwatering or a nutrient deficiency, and corrective steps are being taken to address this. The rest of the plants are progressing well under the current conditions.
Action Taken This Week:
Monitored watering closely to avoid overwatering.
Adjusted light setup to ensure even distribution.
Evaluated soil for potential drainage issues and considered supplementation with a balanced fertilizer to prevent nutrient deficiencies.
New Additions:
Just germinated and planted two Banana Purple Punch Auto seeds directly into large pots. This method skips the transplanting stage to give the roots ample space to grow from the start.
Next Week's Plan:
Keep monitoring the stunted plant and adjust care as needed.
Begin a light fertilizer routine for all plants.
Continue to observe the Banana Purple Punch seedlings to ensure they establish properly.
Progress is on track, and the grow is shaping up nicely with careful attention!
This week topped of all the plants except one gorilla which seemed stunted for unknown reasons and the 2 autos.
Plants have reacted to the transplant very nicely from last week and growing pretty nicely. Haven't added any extra nutes yet but might start at 1/4 dosage next week
Week 4 Review: Grow Diary
Week Overview
This week marked significant progress in the grow. The plants are establishing themselves well, with a visible improvement in their structure and overall health. It was a week of observation, top dressing, and ensuring proper care to set the stage for vigorous growth in the coming weeks.
---
Key Activities
1. Top Dressing Application
I prepared a mix of compost (cattle manure, paddy straw, green manure, poultry litter, and coconut coir pith) combined with rice husk char for added pH buffering and soil structure improvement.
This was applied evenly to all pots to provide a slow and steady release of nutrients while improving aeration and microbial activity.
2. Watering Schedule
After 8 days without watering, I hydrated the plants, ensuring the compost and char mixture started breaking down and integrating into the soil.
3. Observation of Plant Health
Most plants are thriving with strong, deep green foliage and a healthy canopy.
A few leaves displayed slight yellowing on the edges, possibly due to minor pH or nutrient inconsistencies.
---
Plant Development
The plants have grown noticeably in height and are branching out, setting the foundation for future stages.
Stem strength is increasing, and new leaf growth is vigorous, with most plants responding well to the environment and nutrients.
---
Challenges
Nutrient Management: Minor signs of stress (slight yellowing) prompted close monitoring of soil pH and nutrient uptake.
Moisture Balance: Ensuring even watering without over- or under-watering remains a focus.
---
Plans for Week 5
1. Continue monitoring plant response to the top dressing.
2. Check soil pH if symptoms like yellowing persist.
3. Maintain a balanced watering schedule to optimize nutrient absorption.
4. Evaluate if any additional nutrient supplementation is necessary.
---
Conclusion
Week 4 has been a solid growth week, with the plants showing promise despite minor stress. The addition of compost and rice husk char appears to be a positive step, and I'm excited to see how this impacts their development in the coming weeks. Onward to Week 5!
The auto flower has moved into flower mode looks like.
Others are growing well. A couple have some kind of nute burn/ph problem which I haven't figured out yet
Generally looks good
This week I switched to 12-12 lights and the stretch has begun.
The 2 banana purple punch autos are already deep into flower and the most healthy looking plants of the all. Looking super strong.
The smell of the tent is pretty strong specially when opening it after a night.
The RH in the tent is extremely high at night and I have ordered a dehumidifier, hopefully the girls survive well until it arrives
Plants are stretching like mad since switching to flower. All growth looking amazing jah blessss. Feels good to go so well so far again. I'm back baby
All plants have successfully started producing flower, no stress
This week also the plants have stretched quiet a lot but I hope the stretch period is over as I'm running out of height available for the lights. One plant in particular has stretched to extreme levels, it used be below average height before he stretch but now it's extremely taller than the rest and I feel it's too late to make any adjustments without causing stress and damage.
Other than that everyone is looking super healthy and in full flower mode.
The 2 autos are getting thiccc and beautiful, the smell is also pretty strong.
It's going all well, compost hit hard and gave a nice little boost.
Now trying to figure out if the banana purple punch auto is ready fir harvest or not. It's a mystery without a loupe
Partially harvested the banana Purple punch auto as the top colas were matured and kept the bottoms to further mature. Smoked and it was strong AF
Others are nicely maturing but girl scout cookies doesn't seem to be getting very thick. Maybe has too many tops.
As usual gorilla is growing strong, his strain has been my top strain for many years now as they always grow well and very resistant
Last week overwatered and plant got messed up bad, doubt it'll recover, other also had some major trauma but looks like it'll recover. Watering once in like 10 days now making them dry out hopefully
