Its Sunday the 27th of So a new week starts ;)
She didnt drink all the juice i gave her last week, but she got another 10L mixed up for the current week. She still looks a bit raped from my trimmings, but all leaves have a healthy color. Only the top leaves on the top colas has slightly rolled up leaves, but they are way to close to the light.
Besides that, i am waiting to see her buds fattening up :D
No Photos today though, but i uploaded my favorite one for this week :D
Ok... i went down to take some shots for this week, and here they are ;)
0829 - trimmed her a bit more... Some of the leaves were real sticky... Here is why :D
There's too much light bro ! She's miniaturizing herself !
For the roots, I don't know if they should have roots hair or not in DWC.
@BigDaddyK, @thephalanx420, Will know more than me, for your roots if they look normal at this stage.
@JUNGLE_B4RNS, they look quite small to me, but have saturated the entire rockwool and are starting to extend below it. Hopefully there is a well oxygenated reservoir below for them to reach in the next day or two.
I moved them out of the light as good as possible...
Its only a slight curl up, and the leaves stay a healthy green. I am watching them like a hawk for serious light burn (brown pistils, burned tips/sides) and will move the plant lower if that happens. I dont want to dim the lights since the rest of the plants is getting the perfect amount, just the 2 top ones are to close.
The picture above is from one of the curling leaves, and i find her beautiful :D
@BigDaddyK, @rdrunner, personally, i think the roots were just spreading throughout the rockwool (which was too wet), but now that they've come through the bottom of the netpot, i think they'll reach the water and start to stretch rapidly. I'd still advise to stop top feeding for now until the roots are established in the res below, then top feed for maybe 1-2 minutes every 2 days to keep the rockwool damp, but not saturated (or whatever amount of time allows for that).
I think it'll get better from here.
@BigDaddyK, I don't want to kill her off already...
My last seedling got killed by the sitter (The same one who is watching during the 2 week summer vacation that is coming up after the next weekend)
So starting a new plant now is something I don't want to try, since that would cost me another month at least :-/
@KonopCh, i tried real hard to find some passive ones here... But I had no luck finding any. Shipping from the US for the heat sinks was very high so i said fuck it.
The Heatsink does not get very warm... I am tempted to run it without ventilation, since i have less than 70W each side, but i got everything hooked up now and i am somewhat lazy.
If i work on it again i will remove the driver from the frame and place it outside to lower the temp in the tent.
@JUNGLE_B4RNS, thanks for the warning...
I did try to build something like this
http://www.growweedeasy.com/high-yield-bubbleponics-technique
The only issue was that I wanted to skip on the water pump, so I decided to let the water drip from a res into the plant slowly. I guess since I was playing around a bit and "adopted" it to top feed from a 2nd res instead of my main res it didn't get the air-enriched water from the main res... Well the roots are now out of the cup, so they should find some more air in the pot...
@rdrunner, the droopy leaves with speed bumps is the first symptom of over watering, then the petiole and the stem will start purpling due to Mag deficiency because of rotted roots.
@JUNGLE_B4RNS, I am constantly drip feeding her right now. She gets about 1 drop/5-10 seconds. The roots finally left the net cup today and start growing down from there. I hope this will solve the issue for me. I am not planning to submerge the net cup on this grow.
I will watch her to see if she gets better now, since her roots are now finally starting to get exposed to the air.
But watching the overwater pictures from growweedeasy does have some resemblance :)
Edit: I cut the dripping water supply for today... I think the Rockwool will hold sufficient water for 2 days..
@BreakingBud, Thanks...
I will post better pictures in about a week or so once I get home again ;)
Currently I only get some low resolution WhatsApp shots...
@BigDaddyK,
I made sure that they don't touch...
But the stuff is still "dripping wet" even after not top feeding the last few days... The bubbler is right below and that is most likely the cause. But they are only getting airy-water now
@Oyziphar, Not yet ;)
But they were quite sad to be hones when it came to size... way below the mail foilage but they did look a bit frosty though...
Been without weed since i started this diary basically :D
@JUNGLE_B4RNS,
the light is as high as possible already...
I can only lower the setup in a few days... Currently the plant gets like 135W from 2 Vero29's with 3000K
The plant needs more light once it gets flipped to flower, right ?
I was planning to use the Mars you see on some pictures kinda as a side lightning once flowering starts.
My last measurements were about 81K Lux at plant top level when I left 2 weeks ago (Cheap phone light sensor)
@rdrunner,if it's a Mag def due to too much Lumens, it won't, even if you add 3 pounds of Cal Mag. The solution will be to put your light just a lil bit farther. Just wait and see if it starts to vanish in a few days.
@ForestGreen, Next strain will be CBD Crack from Fastbuds... Not sure when i will pop it due to vacations...
Anyway... I am very happy with the grow i think its a good diary also... I recovered from quite some mess ups and i am about [8} from her right now :D
@rdrunner, Yeah unfortunately that's probably the way its got to be after the fuss last time. Too bad man. Congrats all the same on the grow and a good diary.
@ForestGreen, I asked folks to look at my diary... Not to vote, but plain look...
So I got removed
So @GrowDiaries are enforcing it a good deal stricter now.
Anyway... Next Diary will be better and i will be back - No bad feelings @GrowDiaries - Keep up the good work ;)
