Started off germination with a heat mat set to 85 degrees. Room Temperature is about 75 degrees Fahrenheit outside the tent. The whole grow consist of 11 plants. 6 strains 2 seeds per strain, except one. Each strain will have its own diary. I did not use any nutrients, just room temp water soaked into a paper towel and put into a ziplock bag.
3 weeks and one day. Have fed at least 3 times. I used LST clips. I've heard the earlier the better. I already did it a day earlier to two other strains in the tent and they responded good. Though these two plants are shorter than those mentioned. Also when I transplanted these two i kind of messed up the root ball, with one in particular definitely showed signs of transplant stress.
Topped and continued LST. Only topped the main shoot. In a week or two I will top all side branches that ware reaching the top, and the main shoot one more time. I will then wait for growth another 3 weeks to a month, with LST and defoliation. Then flip. The transplant stressed plant (plant 2) was showing more signs of bad health than the other. Plant 1 only had slight nutrient burn, so this week when I watered I upped the amount of water and lowered the overall nutrients. This should had diluted it enough and lowered ppm. I currently do not have a tds meter as the last one I had was cheap. This run all I have is a apera instruments PH meter, I decided to invest in high quality instruments, so will get a new tds meter down the line. Also I waited one week to water, as I wanted to see how long it took for my plants to get thirsty. I have 2 other plants in this tent, the Jelly donutz seem to have last the longest without wilting. Going that full week. From now on I will be watering every 4-5 days until my girls need more.
Compared to the other 2 plants in my tent. This jelly dontz are growing at a slower rate.
Broke off the main stem while performing LST of Plant 1. Plant 2 was transplant stressed but rebounded well. It is now the second biggest in the tent. Plant 1 is 5 inches because of the brake, while plant 2 is 7.7 inches along the main stem. I do heavy LST daily basically. Will slow down the LST to allow vertical growth as it it getting hard to feed without touching the plant. Topped both but as mentioned plant 1 no longer has it top. I will top all side branches once enough nodes.
I read that since coco coir is hydroponics I should have more fertigation. I was originally letting the substrate dry until it was only 20ish percent moist, but I read this is bad as this can induce build up, a problem I had on my last grow. So from now on I will be watering every other day. The plants are also giving me less run off so now I will water with 1.5 gallons per plant, do note the smaller jelly donutz is not uptaking as much water, the coco still tends to still be moist when I check it but I do not have time to schedule different waterings so it will have to make due.
Jelly Donutz 2 is about 11 inches along the main stem to the tips of the two main tops. Jelly Donutz 1 is about 7 inches along the two main tops. Jelly Donutz 1 is still smaller than all plants in tent but it is still growing and new growth seems healthy so I will be keeping her. Once flower time comes I will prop her up if needs be to make the canopy even in the tent.
Topping of the side branching recovering on both plants, I do have a few fims, which were kind of intentional. I heard fimming can make the canopy uneven, but how can more tops hurt lol.
I Initiated flower on 01/15. I killed the smaller plant for two reasons. It could've affected my canopy, and I just didn't have space when watering them with the trellis net on. I still been watering daily and they seem to be responding well. I removed bud sites from the lower 2/3 of the plant the day i flipped. Kept the leaves that weren’t in the way. Will lollipop week 2 of flower.
1 week since flipped, I lollopped again a few yesterday. I wasn't going to until week two was done. Hopefully, I didn't stunt the growth. Canopy is even with my other plants, overall. I am still watering daily. I changed my tent humidity to match ideal VPD based on various charts I found online. I reinstalled the trellis net because I know the buds will weigh down the stems, so need some preventative measures. Plants started showing sex 3 days after flip.
Supper cropped because plant got taller than expected. Was too close to light. Tallest branches around 3 feet tall. I defoliated 2 weeks into flower. I also took clones today. Sweet gassy smell. Have light on 75% intensity since it is so close. Depending how plants respond I may just keep the intensity there.
First thing that came to mind for the smell is pineapple. Still using mid bloom. Compared to the other strain in this tent. This appears closer to finish. Very frosty. Small buds. Trichomes are still clear and white Will be switching to late bloom feed schedule on Wednesday. The humboldt seed co website said these could be done in 55 days. These will be going a full 9 weeks as I will be drying in the same tent and need my other stain to mature.
Daily feeds still. Smells just like real life jelly donutz. Very frosty. Small buds though. Some Branches are putting on weight still. Most trichomes turned cloudy. Some still clear. Some turning amber. More clear than amber. Some leaves turning purple, though do note I did notice purple stemming on leaves but I know that was due to my super cropping as it was an immediate response. Purple slightly though out buds alsoThe website said this is a 55 day flower strain. That’s eight days from today. I was going off of a nine week feeding schedule. I may flush soon and chop within that time frame. I took more cuttings as the first for this strain weren’t successful (I did see roots, maybe I didn’t wait long enough. Another strain was successful though). I also popped another jelly donutz seed.
