1st ever auto grow got many strains going ,using 600w hps light the whole grow
50% nectar of gods #4 soil,30% perlite,20% coco
no nutrients yet
only using a fan no exhause to keep humidity higher also hang a wet towel and open containers of water
this one is starting to take off the last few days so I fimmed it as a expirement seeing that many say don't top/fim autos
started nutrients 1/8th strength
spraying foilage with co2 water as you can see in the pics
just in last 2 days this started growing a lot faster
beginning of week 4 (day 29)
increased nutrients to half strength
temps still get high but I got good exhaust and since getting go co2 exchange isn't bothering the plants
this seems like a slow starter but now a bunch of new branches starting to come in,i tried fimming didn't cut low enough so topped and didn't stunt growth much
weak smell already
didn't start flowering yet stalled due to topping and defoliating lower small leaves, I am done defoliating for the rest of the grow, just doing this grow for a expirement not for a big yield
raised nutrients to 50% it did get very minor nut burn on tips but not enough to stop its growth
took many small leaves off the bottom of this one is why it looks so small it's actually grown over 2 inches since last week
*finally at 1st week of flower with this one it was the last plant to go into flower due to topping and heavy defoilation
*flushed all my plants and started the other day on flowering nutrients
*realized my hps bulb is a year old it needs changed but imma just finish with this old bulb because after this grow I decided to go with two 550 v2 quantum board lights and imma scrog ,this was just a expiremental grow next grow I am going for a big yield
*will lower light to 12-13 inches from tops
* I defoliated this one the most which is why its so far behind in flowering I don't mind I had to try it out since this is my 1st auto grow I learned alot
*2nd week of flower, this plant growth was stunted due to 2 branches snapping during lst and just in the last few days has started to finally grow smaller buds
*sensitive to ph levels for sure
*the few buds that starting to grow were green but I can tell they are turning a light purple slowly each day happy about that
*1/2 strength on the nuitrients
*it's been topped heavy defolated… now I got the plant the way I want it I just have to feed until flush time
this one got overwatered and hasn't taken to the defolation that great but the buds starting to get more purple everyday and the fruit smell getting stronger last few days I think it will be ready by 2 weeks
if you like fruitty tasting flowers that are purple and easy to grow this is your strain, I love the taste and smell plus was very easy to grow , I will buy this again 😃😁
Wow...you really beat that bitch into submission, huh?😁
Honestly, I'm just not sure all that training and effort is worth it with the faster autos. It has been my experience thus far that they yield what they are gonna yield, regardless of the extra effort. FIMing excluded. That's just 5 seconds of effort with zero shock..
Besides, in the extra few weeks it takes to finish them when you retard them with training and defoliation, you could have another one half-finished..
Good luck! I hope you prove me wrong with a massively bumper crop!
@@mrmateo,
I wouldn't have even chimed in, but I just finished two runs (4 total plants) of C4 myself. They finish quickly, but I'm still undecided whether they respond well to FIMing or not. The first run they seemed to be stunted from FIMing (or maybe just runts), but this last run, they branched out and produced pretty well for 65 and 68 day plants.
The flavor and aromas have been consistently top-notch, and if you get the purple pheno, it's a delight to behold...but the pink phenos seem to yield a little better on average.
@Silverback_Guerilla, thanks for the pointers, yea i noticed on a lot of seed sites they claim autos get just as much bud as a photo in less time, like you said I did too much butchering ,I should of bought a new bulb too I did 2 other grows of photos with this same bulb lol so it's past time to switch bulbs,i plan on doing a all sativa grow in my auto scrog next grow,i saw now that hlg sells red or blue supliment lights I might buy a few of those to fill up the space or like you say I might add a few small for side lighting ...I've defoliated more then half the plant off on every single plant I wanted to try this my 1st auto grow so I don't go the rest of my grows wondering, I spent a lil money on this lesson but I think from what I learned from this grow and along with the hlg lights and scrog all my future grows will be producing a pound easy
@@@@@@@@mrmateo,
She's got great structure...you did a great job with it. If it were a photo, you'd have 9 or 10 more weeks to really swell up all those flowers, but being an auto, I think she's gonna finish in a few weeks anyway.
When scrogging, late-flower defo is usually necessary, else you don't get the kind of canopy penetration you're wanting, but with those HLG 550's you may not even need to. Or, if you grow taller auto varieties or let your photos veg for 5-6 weeks, you can just add a couple of those new 70-80w QB bar lights to the sides of your tent so that your lower flowers get enough PAR without having to defo and lose the potential energy that those leaves would have otherwise produced.
You're not gonna miss the HPS at all man...QB's are the way to go for sure..👈
I'm sold on autos....they are plenty powerful, and I can do 6 runs a year...variety!
And regarding defoliation as a "technique" with autoflowering varieties...
I just can't get behind it. When you defo, your plant immediately spends all of it's energy growing new leaves rather than focusing on branch development...yes, it only takes a few days to grow back new leaves, but a few days out of the life of an auto that will live a total of 65 days are too costly...
If your goal is to finish your auto with foliage as pristine as possible, then by all means, defoliate. But if your goal is to finish with maximum flower yield, do not.
(steps down from soapbox)
I have a pack of these to start very soon.. Im looking forward to growing this strain, yours is looking good.. Good luck with the rest of your grow !! I'll be following :)
that crystal meth responded well to topping but my c4 hasn't, I kind of wish I would of fimmed or topped the blackberry... I actually remember looking at your diary for that now that I think about it haha
