Here we go with another seed I was given for free!! Barneys Farm peyote critical I live in Australia and plants grown Outdoors here, don't flower until mid to late feburary as a rule, so whilst waiting for anuva project to do it's thing , I thought I might try the Force flowering technique at around week 6 - 8 of veg with this seed. I like to start my seedlings off in a mini 3Litre dwc bucket with airstone and Cfl light until they develop a nice little root system (usually 2-3 weeks). Then i transplant into fabric grow bags and into the sunshine they go. Where they are then fed organic grow fast nutrients and Fresh worm tea

Here in Australia during summer, our sun rises (first light) around 5 am and last light is not until after 830 pm so to iniate forced flowering , my plan is to place a black plastic drum over the entire plant at 5pm each evening and only removing once it get's fully dark.

Yes, I have done it several times. You just have to be very precise on how much light you are giving the plant every day. You must give it at least 12 hours of uninterupted darkness. Even exposing it to 5 minutes of light in between can affect the cycle giving you issues like stretching and foxtailing. And say you give it 13 hours of dark then you want to maintain that 13. It is all about consistancy if you want the best possible end result.

14 days now since light deprivation began and I am very happy with the bud development so far I plan to pollinate half of this plant with feminised pollen (jack herer fem induced to grow balls with colloidal silver) Why??? because nobody ships thier seeds to Australia and when they do occasionly become available are pretty pricey so Im aiming for stash of fem seeds made from good genetics that hopefully pass on

Wow!! what a difference a week can make She is going very nicely and has a distinct sweet fruity smell that I just love. I have been feeding her every 3 days with a little ph'd plain water in between when needed.

She is certainly producing a fair amount of resin with the sugar leaves having a sparkly coating. I really like how fast this plant is developing her buds and the overall size and stature.

5 weeks now and she smells beautiful!! I removed all of the big shade leaves only because they were seriously blocking the sunlight from the main bud structure surrounding the plant's stem. I have only needed to feed every 3 days as the weather has been cooler Lots and lots of trichome development and the fruity smell is elvoving into a sweeter odour similiar to over ripened fruits 👊 ok so I found some amber trichomes already is this Normal???? Thankyou Mrs Larimar for confirming that this is normal and is the way buds naturally mature

Is it normal to see amber trichomes as early as today?? I was checking with a handheld 60x loupe and there are clearly some opaque and amber trichomes I couldn't find any info in my books so thought I would ask here

hi dankdownunder, yes its normal, the trichomes appear , change colour and get amber in steps, you can have a plant with clear and amber trichomes on one plant... its just a sign where the buds more matuated. MOst time on the tops they are maturating sooner, and in lower areas are clear, its a question where the light can reach to.

We had a sudden downpour of rain on thursday which saturated the whole plant 😠 I dried her out as much as possible and moved under cover .. but alas the drenching was enough to show signs of botrytis in the top main cola. I chopped out the offending area and discarded it, then decided to lop the whole top of the plant. I will have to keep a close eye on the other buds but If I get another week out of them I will consider myself lucky

My Goal with this grow was to force an outdoor plant to flower early by manipulating the amount of dark hours she recieved.... Goal acomplished Thankyou to everyone who helped answer my questions and who offered advice , much appreciated Thankyou to growdiaries and thanks to barneys farm 👍

In some grows i harvest in steps, starting with the Maturated buds on the top and as the lower areas get more light they maturate too. I have it most times in outdoors , on very dense plants

@DILLIGAF,you are welcome. have fun with harvest

Mrs_Larimarcommented6 years ago
@DILLIGAF,just the way you like it. from the point they are milky you can harvest. and how many ambers you like to have is your descision. some like it only milky, some like it with 30 percent, some like more. and 30 percent amber souns good to me if its not to hot outdoors. I had an outdoor grow last year and waited for showing enough amber. It ended with having seeds because of the heat. The plant was stressed and selfpollinated.( we had above 30 degree c) so watch your outdoor and harvest the parts as you like to hav them

@Mrs_Larimar, so at what stage of trich development would you start to harvest some of the more matured bud ?? all cloudy with say 30% amber sound about right?? This is all new to me but very interesting and enjoyable to learn 😀 Thankyou for answering my grow question 👍

I forgot to mention, the most important part is checking your local sunrise calendar the way you are timing it. If your sunrise is getting a couple minutes earlier each day then you have to account for that in the time you cover the plant or it may try to reveg.

Hello! Good idea making your own seeds, I got mixed results myself, but it was much better than anticipated, but because when you pollinate two different plants you can get very mixed results, instead you could stress one of your preferred phenotype with some colloidal silver, and let it self-pollinate or target only a few flowers, in this way you have a lot more chance to have exactly the same plant as the one you like! Good luck!
