Started on a wet paper towel, like always for autos. The first seed didn't germinate and I had to start another. It grew a tap root within three days and I transferred her to soil / perlite mix in a 5L plastic pot. This will be a mini grow under a small 36W light.
The first week. Decent growth. The soil is too wet and isn't draining well, I'm not sure what the issue is, but I fear it may become a problem in a pot this small. I hope for the best.
Very good growth in the second week. She's not yet limited by light and medium, but by the next of next week the roots would've reached the edges of the pot and growth will slow down. I usually get 30-40 grams from these mini grows and I aiming for the same here.
She's growing vigorously and doesn't seem too bothered by her small pot or low light. This will likely be my biggest 36W grow, though as I mentioned in the intro, she's getting residual light from the 150W fixture in the same tent.
Now in her fourth she's starting to flower. She's rather bulky and I am surprised at her performance in the 5 liter pot. She's likely to require very carefully balanced feed as she grows and starts quickly draining her pot.
She's doing really well under her limited light and in her small pot. She's obviously getting more light from the other fixtures, but doesn't seem at all bothered by her small pot. She's clearly flowering now. Will be interesting to manage her watering now.
She was left unattended and unwatered for most of this week. Expectedly, some nutrition issues popped up, but nothing too bad. Her thrips infestation is spreading. I don't think I will get rid of them without IPM.
I added blue sticky traps to help reduce the thrip infestation. I am waiting for the pouches to arrive after the package was misdirected. She's doing really well now, but getting less reflected light.
