Thanks Patricia and the Zamnesia crew for your offer of 3x3 Biscotti seeds 🙏🙏🙏 Even though I have a nice clone library, I have wanted to try a new strain for a while. Biscotti seemed like the ideal strain for this. 💪 If 8 out of 9 seeds would germinate, this would be enough for my - tried and tested - setup of 8 XL AutoPots with 2x600 Watt HPS lights. But because I thought 8 out of 9 was a bit tight, I ordered an extra 3 Biscotti seeds separately. The two packages arrived on the same day. 👍 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I am equally happy with the new nutritional tablets from Bioplantenvoeding.nl. Their Healthy Start tablets have been out of stock for a while now, 😥 but they are working on new tablets.👍 Today I received 32 prototype tablets, which I would like to test for them. 😍 They look great. A bit firmer pressed than their older models, and a bit greener 👽 Many thanks to the people at Bioplantenvoeding.nl for the tablets and thanks for the trust in letting me test them. 🙏🙏🙏 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After putting the seeds in the freezer for a few days, I cleaned up my grow room and was ready to start a new diary. So what happened this week : DAY 1 Removing the seeds from the freezer, open the packages and put the seeds in a bowl of clean water. I prefere this way of germinating, because you can see if the seeds do germinate. 😙 DAY 2 More than half of the seeds have germinatated 👌 ! I took the first picture 30 hours after I put the seeds in the water. 😇 DAY4 All seeds are cracked. All of them have germinated 😊 As you can see, the water is a bit troubled and there are some remains of the - I think - seed husks floating in the water. I refreshed the water. DAY6 The sprouts have hardly grown. This surprised me. 😧 I just read that it is best to change the water daily. I did not do this. 😔 I also read that it is best not to leave the seeds in the water for too long once they have germinated. I did not do this either. 😖 Stupid me 😈 Hopefully everything will turn out fine.🙏. That's why I have decided to took the seeds out of the glass with water and put them in small pots filled with organic sowing soil (enriched with mycorrhiza (flower safer) and a tiny bit of Biovin).👍 I'm waiting in suspense! See you next week! 👻

I ended my diary last week with a bit of fear. I had left the seeds in the water for 6 (!) days before planting them out. With the hustle and bustle of Christmas, I had lost sight of the seeds. And because the sprouts were still so small, I thought I would leave them in the glass of water for a few more days. Until I read that the seeds should not be left in water for too long because they could then suffer from a lack of oxygen, which could mean the end of the seeds. Moreover, I read that I should change the water daily, while I had only done once (on day 4).😥 So you can imagine how happy I was that after two days of tension, the seeds that I had entrusted to the soil on day 6, were peeping out of the ground on day 9. By the end of day 9, already ten of the twelve seedlings succeeded to emerge from the ground. On day 10 eleven of the twelve seeds have made it !😍 What have I learned 😊 : 1️⃣ Seeds can survive in water for quite a long time, 2️⃣ Even if you only change the water once a week, the seeds can still survive. 👍 DAY10 : I lowered the lamp a bit because the seedlings started to stretch. This caused the humidity to drop a bit, so I put the hoods of my AutoPot X over the seedlings (see last photo). DAY11 : YESSS 12 seeds/12 germinated= 100% Germination Rate 💪💪💪 🌞📆🌺🌡️☁️💦💬🥣👃1️⃣2️⃣3️⃣4️⃣5️⃣6️⃣7️⃣8️⃣9️⃣0️⃣

1️⃣ This week was the difficult period in which the seedlings are starting to develop their root system, but their stems are not yet very strong and therefore very vulnerable. 😕 2️⃣ The seedlings have also started to stretch. This made some of them a bit wobbly, which is why I added some sticks to give them some support. 3️⃣ Due to the fluctuating outside temperature and the heat of the 250watt HPS lamp, it was sometimes difficult to keep the temperature 🌡️ and humidity 💦 stable. I do have a humidifier, but it is a bit overdone to humidify the entire growing space for a few seedlings. That is why I tried to manually increase the humidity with a plant sprayer and - if I could not visit the growing room for a longer period of time (when I was sleeping, for instance) - I placed the plastic hoods over the seedlings, but then the temperature rose, so I had to turn the heating down a bit.👇👆👍 4️⃣ By the end of the week the stems of the seedlings are already getting a bit firmer and the first few typical cannabis leaves are starting to form 😘 5️⃣ The smallest seedling is 6cm high. The tallest is 13 cm high.

DAY 26 : 1️⃣ I selected 8 of the 12 seedlings and repotted them into 8 AutoPot XL containers. These pots hold 25 litres, but because of the AirDomes there is only room for a 22.5 litre potting mix. 2️⃣ My potting mix for this diary consists of 100 litres of recycled soil mix (50/50 soil/perlite) from a previous harvest, mixed with 40 litres of fresh potting soil and 40 litres of perlite. I enriched the mix with 1000 grams of Biovin (dry organic compost made from grape residues), 100 grams of Flower Safer (mycorrhiza), 120 grams of Outdoor Bloom (Gen1:11) and 40 grams of Oudoor Grow (Gen 1:11). 3️⃣ I placed 4 growth tablets on the bottom of each pot. They are prototypes from Bioplantenvoeding.nl. Their old tablets are no longer available, but they are working on new tablets. 4️⃣ Before repotting I sprinkled some Flower Safer (mycorrhiza) in the planting hole. 5️⃣ During the day I place a plastic propagator over each plant to keep the humidity high. During the night I remove the propagator and turn on the oscillating fan so that the plants catch some wind and therefore develop a stronger stem. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DAY27 : 👉 I mixed 10 liters of water with 50 ml of liquid thick organic fertilizer (NK 5-3) from the regular garden store and 2.5 ml of Pep Roots (not liquid, more of a pasta) that I got for free from the local grow shop. Then I divided the 10 liters over the 8 plants.

The plants root system has been able to develop well in the new large pots this week. 👌 Therfore not that much growth above ground level. Tallest plant = 21 cm; Smallest plant = 14 cm 😗 Most important = the plants look healthy 😍 I watered the plants 2 times this week 👍 approx 1 liter/plant/time enriched with pep-roots (root stimulator)

👉DAY3️⃣7️⃣ I topped the plants between the 5th and 6th nodes, leaving 5 nodes, or 10 small branches and leaves. "Auxins are the hormones in charge of the shape cannabis plants’ take. The tip of the main stem is where the auxins come from, flowing down through the plant and stopping it from producing lateral growth. These auxins find it harder to reach the bottom of the plant, which is why when plants grow taller the lower branches grow out wider; giving them their classic Christmas Tree shape. However, topping allows you to remove the Apex (the top growth tip) and therefore break apical dominance, allowing side branches to grow more." (https://www.growbarato.net/) 👉DAY 4️⃣1️⃣ Plants are doing great, but it seems the Biscotti's are rather slow growers. 😏 So we will have to wait quite a long time before the plants go into the flowering phase. 😖 Patience is a necessary virtue for every cannabis grower 💤 Tallest plant = 27 cm 👆; Smallest plant = 17 cm 👇 I watered the plants 2 times this week, and give them approx 1 liter/plant/time enriched with pep-roots (root stimulator)

👉DAY45 1. I connected the AutoPot XL to the watertank. 💦 2. I installed my humidifier 👉DAY 48 Second time I topped the plants. This time I topped the two highest branches, by removing the Apex (the top growth tips) and therefore break apical dominance, allowing side branches to grow more. Tallest plant = 38 cm 👆; Smallest plant = 21cm 👇 Also this week I watered the plants 2 times, giving them approx 1 liter/plant each time (enriched with pep-roots (root stimulator)) 💪 The plants are starting to spread a light scent 👃😜

DAY54 1️⃣ Removing the lower branches and reusing them for cuttings. I took two cuttings of each plant. After harvesting and tasting, I'll decide which pheno I'll keep. 2️⃣ Topping the plants 3️⃣ Connecting the AirDomes to an airpump Tallest plant = 45cm Smallest plant = 25cm Plants are connected to the watertank, filled with clean water💦. No liquid fertilizers. Only tablets in the soil. 👍 I added 2x 600 watt Dimlux Lamps 🌞🌞 This week I gave each plant 2x 0.5liter enriched with PepRoots rootstimulator 💪

Plants have grown very strongly this week 😍 I placed some plant stakes around the branches that stick out above the others. This way I can prevent the plants from not growing evenly. The plants respond very well to this LST 💪 Tallest plant = 60 cm ; Smallest plant = 33 cm I had numbered the plants according to their size in the early weeks, but in the meantime the numbering no longer corresponds to their size. 👻 Quite a few different phenotypes can be distinguished 🙀
