This strain was a kick-in experiment, part of the last Spicy Bitch pollination. It combines the vigour and yield of a Spicy Bitch sativa, crossed with a female Boogie Nights Indica. The Boogie Nights strain was meh in terms of indica effects so we’re hoping the added spicy bitch characteristics will push that end of the cross to another level. This is a straight test run - no clones here and this run will make or break whether or not it’s worth pursuing through further generations. I changed my mind and I’ll be dropping the solo cups of coco into 2gal perlite Dutch buckets on my recirc system to grow out and sex the lot for females. It’s just easier and more manageable to split them with the other F2 Walkberry testers. While it won’t be 12/12 from seed or anything like that, they’ll be trained and manipulated based on the shortest veg. Period we can squeeze without sacrificing early development too much.

these ones have been a little slower to start which isn’t a bad thing for this run as we’ll be running em out in the Dutch bucket system which isn’t yet ready for planting. All told we only had one seed fail to pop so alls good for this run as well. We’ll pick the best, most vigorous 8 to grow out and sex for a pure test run of bud. A little bit of ph issues and tip curling in early seedling - just didn’t bother phing the foliar spray or feed water this early. We’re now adding in grow nutes and phing so the curl has since cleared up. Growing indica like - real squat even at this early.

Second week on the veg. And the drainage table repairs were done just in time. Moved all these plants into the recirc. System and within 24hours of transplant they were notably happy. I’ll add two more seedlings to the group for a total of 10 plants. Hopefully at least 50% are female🤞. This grows pretty much on autopilot now. All that will be left is regular plant maintenance and top offs to the finish👍.

End of week 3 and just topped em all to prep for training through the rest of Veg. Whether we hit each top again or not will be dependent on how they grow over the next week. Absolutely no issues and systems running like a dream. We’ll be upping the nute mix and gradually incorporating into the res. During top offs. All told, they’re growing really really squat and indica-like as expected. Another 5 or so weeks of boredom and constant training until we get to see who’s a girl and who’s gett’n the toss.

Week 4 on the veg and growth has been slower than expected. Still incredibly healthy but I probably topped em all a little too early and it’s taken them some time to come back around in recovery. The strain itself is still a slow mover it seems but the uniformity in all the plants is a really good sign of consistency and stability. Well do some tie backs on em this week to spread out the shoots and see where we’re at for week 6. I’ll flip em as soon as I start to see pronounced vegetative maturity. Alls good here for now.

Week 6 of veg in the books and I’m rather disappointed with this strain overall. Recovery time on the topping was terrible (if they recovered at all), internodal spacing is extremely stretchy which isn’t at all lending to more pronounced side branching. On top of that they just aren’t growing quickly at all. The fan leaves are massive and the bud sites are very limited. None of them have even begun to show vegetative maturity. Well still take the run to flower but I don’t expect to take this batch of F1 seed any further with these types of characteristics. If the bud is anything short of straight 🔥, I’ll pitch the whole lot of seeds as simply unworthy. Oh well. It was still worth a shot… no deficiencies or issues - just a shitty genetic at this point.

End of the last of veg. And still no major change in growth or maturity. They’re just stalled it seems. Side branching is terrible, internodal spacing is massive and they seem primed to stretch another 5’ with limited colas. Flipped to flower as of today because I’m simply not waiting any longer just for more stretch. Is what it is and we’ll see what they do in flower. ***grow notes: minimal change from prior weeks. Still no deficiencies.

1st week of transition in the books and they continue to advance slowly, albeit with limited signs of the start of stretch. Side branching development continues to be a challenge with the excessive fan leaf growth - it’s like the plant is just pushing all its resources into making bigger leaves so it’s been a constant battle to cut back the growth that keeps overshadowing the lowers. We’ll see where it goes but I remain unimpressed with overall growth characteristics. No deficiency issues and plants have yet to sexually mature to determine gender and final count. Alls good👍.

2nd week of stretch in the books and the males showed up on time. We pared the grow down by 4/5 plants. I think I’ve got at least one more male to cull from the lot. Still having serious struggles with getting the females to transition in earnest and cut back all the fan leaves pretty severely to try and encourage some stress induced fruiting. Still very unhappy with the strain to date and now they’re just taking up space. No issues, nor were any expected in this system and I’ll be happy to be done with these. Now it’s just waiting for the finish.

End of the 3rd week of transition and plants are still lazy as hell getting to flower. There’s minor pistoling but no cotton balls at all. They’re slow all around. We ended up culling down to a 50/50 split of males and females and now it’s just a question of whether or not the females actually flower. We’ll see I guess… still wait’n….
