Not much to add --uneventful germination week.. For starters I dropped the seeds directly into soil this run, and didn't see any difference to the germinationtime. 24h for seed to germinate & break the layer of soil and as a bonus the seed-shell was already off when that happened. Development has been 100% spot on and what I'd expect from a reputable breeder. Whatever they feed the mothers @sweetseeds it's offspring is doing great, no matter if the seedlings spend the first 1-2 weeks in soil, hydro or simply wet-toiletpaper; always looking good and performing well! 😊👌.
4 plants sharing 6,5W is a bit of a stretch (pun intended), but it keeps the energy bill down, and gives the plants hormones for a few extra cm of stretch. Basicly I want my plants to be at a bit tall, yet able to support themselves w/o tipping over and I've found this approach to generate the perfect size for my needs.
The seedling who has taken on the most weight & who is the tallest of the four, she looks allmost identical to the other red-hot's grown previously, and would make an excellent teammate in a SOG-grow!
-Sexy symmetry and a very hungry plant; and from experience I know the strain will net a very good end-results;love em.
Moving the seedlings in to the main grow room to time the 12/12 light and then moving them back to the kitchen when lights are off in main grow-room but a lot of sharing there too in terms of W/plant.
One can only get so much out of a 6,5W LED.
Moved her to 10l pot, 4 more days to adapt until new week. She didn't appreciate the move, and looks a bit droopy r.n. I managed to rip off maybe 50% of her roots too in the process of moving, but she is still at a decent size, so I've decided to flip her at the end of the week to flower/12/12LED-light.
Flower 12/12 LED-light. Not sure I'll transitioning her to flower any quicker by going 12h dark already, but it saves me a lot of moving pots by not having to move the plants out of the flower room everytime lights go off and park them under the kitchen lights.
This girl has grown more than a meter after I switched her to flower. It might be due to the reduced light-hours, given she has experienced 12hours of darkness for the last 3 weeks, but this is for sure the most vigorous growth I have ever experienced in a plant. She looks healthy and all, but are towering over the rest of the plants, where she is twice the size of the smallest one of the four :)
She is a beast! And she loves eating, a lot!
Current scent - cucumber, and sweet pine allmost a little bit peppery!
No pruning, defoliation, training no nothing. I expect this one to take it's time to develop as there are so many colas and bud-sites that are developing.
She has been in the lead for quite some time, but just recently she was outgrown by her sister purple punch! Both plants are very magestic and I expect a huge harvest from both! xD
I'll need some patience though as the numerous buds forming everywhere requires a lot of resources to develop and mature. 1 month left, maybe more to harvest, but the yield if I keep her happy will be huuge! xD
from now on I'll do 12h/12h from seed, as I want her to start forming flowers as soon as possible, 3-4weeks growing and flowers forming was perfect! like growing an auto! And I barely have any space left now as all 4 plants are taking up all the space and overlapping some already. Best grow I have ever experienced, only wish I had 25% more room! xDD
The soil in this pot is recycled dirt from the last grow, ripped apart and mixed with the trim from the old plants and then reinforced with aquarium nutrients. All the plants seems to love this mix and the spongy, very soft soil, letting in a lot of air seems to be a winner, as I have never experienced such extreme development before. It will just take a little bit of extra time to get her to finish, as each cola is maturing very slowly and are thin a.f at the moment! xD
Will try a sample of her now, see how she is performing compared to the 3x other plants in the grow-room! :)
Edit: Strong and tasty with notes of sweet fruits and pine only slightly disrupted by a slight hint of cucumber, very normal to when I try weed that is early harvested mid flower and isn't dried & cured. Events quickly turned bed-mode and I fell asleep and woke up 12h later. Already very, very potent to the point where I went from smoking to bed-pillow hugging mode within minutes w/o turning off the lights before hitting bed either..
Edit2: inspecting my diy vape I see I didnt even finish the nug yesterday before interrupting the vape-ses; going pillow-hugging with the lights on, and a movie streaming in the background.
She is already very strong..
She is not 100% happy at the moment, getting closer and closer to the main LEDs, and me not being able to move the LED any further up. No bleaching yet though, so I'll just keep going! xD
She is packing on some weight, while not gaining any more height fortunately 😅.
Tempting to harvest her already, but I'll push her 1 - 2 more weeks, depending on how much change I see each day.
I don't want to harvest while she is still drinking a ton of nutrients and gaining more and more mass! :)
I want to see if she might develop some more red autumn color in her buds pre harvest; afterall its RED_hot cookies, not just hot cookies; allthough I love all kinds of cookies!! xD
Giving off a piney, peppery aroma with citrusy notes, the sweetness has given way for a deeper; ascidic/lemony scent with a slight hint of camphor.
She isn't quite coping with the nutrients she shares with her siblings as her leaves are showing signs of discomfort. As soon as her pot has dried up I'll give her a new mix with lower TDS; based on the o'l mix, but 25% more water.
She is looking good, frosty a.f! but.. Her sensitivity to her food and lack of red made me rule her out for round#2 cuttings -- grow cycle. Going for the chop!
She has performed well, but here ends our journey.
She is still producing flowers on the middle and lower parts as fresh hairs can be seen popping up still, flowers on top of flowers, but I'm giving her the chop as the gains now are slowing down significantly..
I was unlucky in the gene-lottery this time;chasing the RED and this seed didnt generate red flowers. The plant still looks great, just not the pristine, particular look I was hoping for; maybe next time! xD
Even if I am a little spoiled baby, I am not going on a temper tantrum over her color; still giving her a full star review as my guests has given her a lot of compliments and appreciated her looks, but also her smell.
I'm just getting more and more spoiled with my expectations, but ain't gonna let that ruin her grades.
I'm pretty proud about this one, she is a HOT cookie! :)
I am impressed of how quick and effortless this grow-cycle was and as one can probably tell from the photos, even if she isnt RED; she has a nice autumn fade & she is frosty a.f! :)
Her scent is a tart/gas, sour lemon smell withot any sweetness, very refreshing and raw. Tart sour-lemon notes meets a deep, earthy diesel undertone that’s raw and unapologetic, like the smell of a hot engine on a summer day. It’s a gassy edge that ties it all together, making it bold and intriguing. When vaping some fresh samples I try to put into thoughts what I am inhaling, but I fail to give the smoke experienced words. It's not citrus, like when smelling the presently uncured bud, it's not loud or particularily weak, it's just hard to describe the scent I get when tasting it. I get a slight hint of frankincense in the smoke, and some notes I think would work in a cigar, this is a daddy smoke haha.
I'll return in 2 weeks once she is dry and has begun curing, then I'll update journal in 1,5months for the final review; add all the numbers etc..
Love her leaf to bud ratio, it will be easy/quick to trim her.
I also love her frostiness! :)
Another extremely potent strain, no joke. Thicc trics! :)
100% certain I'll do another round, or two! xD
