Fat Bastard

01/06/25. Starting week 1 This one was out of the soil so fast. She’s growing well now but seems about the same as most of her friends. It’s a bit colder than I think is good right now. The day temps are where I’d prefer the night to be. Might need to put a portable heater soon. The temperature just isn’t staying up with the rest of the place. Soils pretty dry now. I’m going to water today. I imagine the water will run right through, so I’ll be spraying the top a bit to get it damp and then slowly watering to make sure the soil actually absorbs some of it. I’ve complained about my light being a dud or something (the viparspectra) and now I’m pretty sure it is. I have the light at 13 inches up at 50% and still getting stretched stems. This light should be 24 inches or more away supposedly at this age. Been like this since sprout as well. lol. Whatever. At this stage not much else to report on. Thanks for looking ✌️

01/13/24. Beginning of week 2. So fatso is displeased. Not sure what I have done to offend her but you can see her leaves are droopy. She has the over watered look, but no way she’s overwatered. I give her water only when her soil looks dry on top and her pot is light. For now that leaves me thinking maybe it’s a reaction to her not enjoying the intensity of the light. This is also confusing.. as there is a decent node spacing. Also, all her friends seem to be just fine. I know every plant is different though. I’m going to put her off to the side part of the light and keep an eye on her. She was watered today with plain Ph’d water. I will most likely transplant her before next update. I don’t see any roots coming out of the bottom of the pot but her leaves are almost as wide as her little pot. 01/17/25. Transplanted fatso and gave her a tiny bit of food as she was looking pale. She perked up a bit. Thanks for lookin

01/21/25. Jumpin into the start of week 3. Fatso is back to getting happy. I think she really is fat and wants lots of food. The thing is getting really pale, but seems to be growing alright. I gave her water with food again yesterday. Trying to give half of what the manufacturer recommends because usually it’s way too much. Might have to up it for this girl though. Going to see how she does and decide at next watering. It’s been REALLY cold where I’m at and it’s been hard to even keep the whole house at 70 f or above. The little baby plants have been lucky to get even 70 as a temperature. The polar vortex thinger should be giving us a break tomorrow, supposedly, so should warm up a bit. Light is at 18 inches up and about 90%. Oh, she was also transplanted a few days ago. I put after pictures and exact date on the previous weeks update. Thanks for lookin.

01/27/25. Welcome to the start of week 4. Well, fatso is doing great now. She’s perky and happy.. AND she’s darkened up quite a bit. No more pale girl. She was just a hungry little hippo 😸😸 She was just watered yesterday, slowly, until a bit of run off. I’ve upped her food to 2.5 across 3 parts, as well as upped calmag (1) and silica (2). I pulled a dip shit move and left my measuring tape in the flower tent and it’s lights off, so I’ll have to come back tomorrow to update that. She’s at 4 nodes and as soon as she’s got 5 I’ll be topping her. Update: 1/29/25 got measurement updated and watered with food. 1/31/25- topped and plain watered and added picture/video Thanks for lookin. ✌️

02/03/25. Start of week 5 This lady is doing well. She was topped like 3 days ago and is pushing growth. She was plain watered today, slowly, until runoff. Roots are starting to hit bottom so she’ll probably need a transplant soon. She’s drinking every 2-3 days. She’s having some nice growth the past few days now that it’s not cold af. She’s enjoying the heat. Not much else going on currently. If anything else happens I’ll come back and update. Thanks for lookin.

02/11/25 start of week 6 Fatso has been transplanted into a 2 gallon now. I usually woulda put her in her final pot but I have limited room at the moment.. so she’ll have to be transplanted again later. She has also been topped a second time and I think it pissed her off or something as she looks a bit droopy again. Watering whenever her pots light/soils dry, with no set amount- water slowly until a bit of run off. Since she just got into fresh soil I watered last with just silica and calmag. She’s 9 inches tall now. Just saying it here because GD is being weird and the numbers keep saying different than what I put. Think that covered everything. Thanks for lookin.

02/17/25. Start week 7 veg Transplanted to final home and moved into flower tent. Not flipping yet. Switched the timers to veg mode. I want this grow to do at least 8 weeks veg. Fatso is a hungry hippo as usual. She’s not the biggest of the girls but definitely the hungriest. Upped her grow ratio a bit as she’s been paling and bottom leaf is going yellow. She was watered in and fed after transplant She’s now under the 320w at 50% about 23 inches away. If I notice any problems I’ll adjust the dim. It’s gotten really cold again so I’m guessing growth will slow down like a couple weeks back :( This fold has really been a pain in the ass this grow.

02/24/25. Start week 8 veg Fatso got training the past week and I’m happy with how she’s turning out. I put lst clips on her to open her up a bit and she was mostly good except for w few branches I added more to because they were sticking up above the others. She was watered yesterday with ph water with calmag. She drank about half a gallon. Her next watering will be with a feed. She has a bit of yellowing on her leaf tips. I’m not sure if it’s the light or a deficiency but I’m keeping an eye on it. I’ll be flipping soon. She’s more than ready. Was just waiting on one of her friends to get to the party. 03/03/25. It’s flip time! Day 1 flower let’s go Fatso is large and in charge. Really happy with how her training has shaped her she’s pretty much the biggest in the tent. I have a feeling that this is going to be the big stretcher. I’m really hoping not, but it’s my intuition. In preparation for flower, I took out a few leaves that were bunched together that I felt would cause airflow issues. I cleaned up the bottom some, but still have some more to do there within the next couple weeks. Changed nutrition ratios to transitional for more balance. She has been watered today with nutrients. She is drinking about a half gallon with some run off. I have been doing every other water, but just because she’s probably about to put in some serious work, I want to make sure she’s not lacking. Hopefully this doesn’t overdo it. Nothing else happening for now. Let’s get stretching

03/10/25. Start of week 2 flower. So day 8 The name makes sense .. I must say. This baby is taking over the place. She’s a one woman jungle. Hellllp LOL Was hard to get pictures because she’s all up in everything at the moment. Gotta fix. Watering half a gallon every 2-3 days. Usually feed every other water, but I’ve done several back to back feedings to see if I can NOT run into deficiencies that I’ve been having problems with going into flower. So far so good. Now let’s just hope I don’t overdo it lol. She looks happy and beautiful, with little baby buddies starting to emerge. Not sure how she has the energy to make buds at all with 10 inch stretch in 1 week. Ahhh. Hope she is about done? I’m sure she’s not as there’s like 2 weeks stretch time possibly. I’ve increased light intensity. We’re at about 70% and I’m going to raise the light because she’s going to grow right into it. Kinda sucks because her friends are at a good distance. I don’t really wanna bend or break her branches or anything either. Think that catches us up for now. ✌️✌️

03/17/25. Start of week 3 flower or day 15.. I think. Holy stretcher. I mean it’s not even that she’s THAT tall.. it’s just that her friends aren’t nearly as stretchy and so she towers above them and make me need to raise the light. I really don’t wanna break/bend her branches. It sucks though because it’s making the rest get less light. I raised the light after last update and she’s about growing into it again. So yeah.. going to have to again. She’s still drinking half a gallon, or a bit more every 2 days. I have been feeding back to back to back and she has seemed very pleased with it. I’m noticing slight yellowing on the tips, so I think I will make her next watering (tomorrow) a plain ph water. She’s made a small bit of progress on her little buds. It’s nothing huge, but they’ve grown a bit. She doesn’t seem to be focused on just that yet. She grew another 10 inches up this past week. I don’t have any issues or anything to mention for this update. Yay! Let’s keep it this way huh? Anyways thanks for looking and sorry the pictures aren’t the best. Hard to get all of her in there lol.

03/24/25. Start week 4 flower. So 21 days. I think the stretch has finally left us. I actually only raised the light a little bit after last update because I thought it might help to just keep blasting her at close range. She didn’t gain anymore height. It looks like now she’s getting into some bud work. Stacking and such are a thing now. I cut back her food a bit since I was seeing some tip burn, she’s starting to look a little light now though, so I’m going to go back to it and monitor how she responds. Cleaned up her bottom a bit more and got rid of bunched up leaves and new little bud growth that had come out around the stem. She’s the tallest in the tent, and no longer the hungriest hippo of the bunch. Runtz seems to be the real fatso of the group. Still no issues really to report this update. Things are going well. Hoping to see some bulking from here on.

03/31/25. Start of week 5 flower. Day 29 So got deficiencies going on from lockout. Perfect timing. Ugh. Soil ph is fucked currently. Tried leaching and it was still a bit out of range, but got a bit better. Hoping I can get it under control fast.. as this is smack dab in the worst time to happen with bud stacking and such. Hopefully not much is lost in growth because of this. Also crossing my fingers that the leaf loss doesn’t get too bad either.

04/07/25. Start of week 6 flower. Been working on the soil issues. Leached with some 7-7.5 ph water a couple times followed by very light nutrients. By leach I guess I mean I gave a normal amount of water until normal runoff and then slowly watered in an extra gallon.. or two. Her soil did return to a more normal ph. Was still low at around 6- 6.2. The next time it was back to 5. I was getting pissed. Anyway, I added some water with dolomite lime and shook it a ton and slowly saturated the soil with that.. followed by light nutrients in case all were washed out. I don’t think she took any of them up still. Idk wtf. She’s fading like it’s over and bud growth has stopped as far as I can tell. She’ll get a water tomorrow so I’ll just water a bit to get run off and see how the ph is. Hoping the lime has had time to do some change. I’ll either be trying to remedy that more if not, or feeding a regular dose of nutrients if the ph is all good. Crossing my freaking fingers. I’ll never reuse soil again without adding some lime. I didn’t know before that peat turns soil acidic when it breaks down. Rip. And I just thought the deficiency was saying she was just a hippo and hungry.. so I further acidified everything.
