Sweet Mandarine 1L pot (Primer Cultivo)

GEESTGROW It has been growing quite well, it hasn't had any problems, except for one day when something fell on it and bent the stem a little. Luckily, it didn't do any harm, just a very superficial mark, but the plant seems to be recovering perfectly. Still, I have to be more careful because the plant is still very weak. Watering is something I still don't understand too well. This week, I think I've watered it about three days, with the last watering day being today 09/01/2025. I'm preparing the watering water at least 24 hours in advance to remove as much chlorine as possible. Additionally, I mix it with a bit of osmosis water to reduce the percentage of hard water so it doesn't harm the substrate. We'll see how it continues next week.

GEESTGROW For now, the plant is still growing well. I feel like the leaves might be a bit droopy, but that could be because I watered too much at the beginning of the grow, and the substrate stayed wet for several days in a row. I've solved that problem now since I bought a fan that moves the air around a bit inside, maintaining better temperatures and helping the substrate dry out better. Also, the first true leaves that came out have some upward curling at their edges, which I think I can identify as excess heat, but as I mentioned before, the fan solves this problem for me. I've been watering with 50% tap water and 50% osmosis water, warming it up a bit since leaving the water for 24 hours to let the chlorine evaporate makes it a bit too cold for the seedling.

GEESTGROW Now the plant is in a bigger pot, hopefully the final one, since the goal of the project isn't production but simply a passion for the plant and with hopes of a gram or two that can be smoked, so the small pot isn't a major issue. However, the leaves at the tips are starting to turn a yellowish color, which is beginning to worry me. I'm going to try adding NPK, start controlling the pH, and see if I can renew the oxygen and CO2 in the growing environment faster, as it might be a combination of all these things.

GEESTGROW It's been almost a month since I planted it, and I still can't believe how well it's doing for someone who has never grown anything in my life. I've increased the watering to about 200ml, generally every two to three days or whenever I see the substrate dry. As you can see in the first days of this week, I was getting some burn on the tips of the leaves, which I identified as a nitrogen deficiency, so even though my initial idea was not to use fertilizers, I had to go buy one and apply it for the sake of the plant. Once I saw that it recovered thanks to the fertilizer, I did an apical cut, and for now, it seems to be recovering well. Let's see if by next week we have two apices.

GEESTGROW So far, it's growing quite well, new leaves have emerged from the previous nodes, and the apical cut seems to be going well. The smell is starting to become noticeable if I leave the grow cabinet open to let the air circulate.

GEESTGROW This week I applied the fertilizer again since I was starting to see symptoms of nutrient deficiency and even too much light, so I increased the distance of the light from the plant as much as I could, which isn't much, and I fertilized. When I did the apical cut, the upper leaves were blocking the light from reaching the lower ones, so I started an LST to separate those two tops and ensure that enough light reaches the whole plant. I don't know why the lower leaves are practically dead.

GEESTGROW It has finally started to flower, I estimate it will have about a month and a little bit left before I cut and dry it, but I don't want to speak too soon. This week I fertilized again and I've been following the LST to create a more horizontal growth. The plant currently measures 15 cm tall from the substrate to its apex. I suppose that before it starts to bud well, I'll let it rise a little more, but for now, I think it's doing quite well like this.

GEESTGROW I don't have much to say, I've fertilized and it's putting out some giant pistils, I'm still having some nutrient issues but I'm still adding the fertilizer. I don't think I'll see changes until some time passes and it starts to bud.

GEESTGROW This week I fertilized and I see quite a few leaves with a weird look but hey, since I know the plant has little time left until I cut it, I'm going to try to keep going. You can already see the trichomes.

GEESTGROW I had to do a root wash due to excess nitrogen; I kept fertilizing with a vegetative fertilizer during flowering, and it seems I haven't been doing especially well. So, I bought one specific for flowering and I'll add a bit to see. Anyway, I think this diary is going to end in a week.

GEESTGROW I changed the light, now instead of being the 10w sansi light, it's a 45w full-spectrum LED panel from AliExpress, so I cover more space. The trichomes are already turning whitish, so I think it has a couple of days left before I cut.

GEESTGROW Two days ago, I did a final watering with just water and no fertilizer, although I had been reducing the amount of fertilizer in the last waterings. I still don't feel like the plant is ready; we'll see next week.
