Just found this site so only starting on week 5. Only started adding nutrients this week as heeded the warnings about autoflowers and over-feeding. Next grow will probably start adding a week earlier. Had a good bit of trouble getting a stable environment as I live in a damp climate, but a dehumidifier in the room sorted things out. Next grow should be a lot smoother with the temp and humidity stable and feeding worked out.
Pretty sure that one plant is a different strain to the other two. Smells different, different colouring, different leaves, different height, not as thirsty. Good growth spurt this week across the board although the straggler's top leaves are reaching. Hmm. Still, pretty pleased with the first time growing anything but realise a bigger tent is needed.
Hi welcome onGD with your first grow-Diesel automatic from RQS. At the first look i see notheing that is concerning.Second look with reading i just would set the Light on 20/4 or 18/6..... I think all have earned a Rest , even Hempplants^^. But that only my opinion. And second, Your watering, is it really 1,5 l per 24 hours? sounds a lot, ive grown similar strains and just needed 500 ml per day. As soon as they stopped streching you can go on with blooming fertiliser and stop terra vega. conclusion:::: happy looking plants you can go on , just watching watering and start blooming fertiliser. and maybe giving them a " break" . Happy growing
A good week. After starting to use the tap water for the cal mag (hard water area) all three plants perked up. Slow switchover to bloom nutrients at 3,5 ml/l (Canna advise 5 ml/l for "light feeding" in hard water areas like mine.) One plant is a good 12 cm shorter than the tallest and has much paler leaves. A weaker phenotype, perhaps, and certainly not expecting much of a harvest from her! However, given that this is a first grow ever and I mucked up temperature, humidity, pH and feeding at the beginning I'm pretty pleased with the results.
Not a good week. The lower fan leaves on one of the girls started yellowing and a few blotches on them, too. What I have identified is:
1. My pH meter was off. Must re-calibrate it regularly.
2. I was underwatering significantly. When the good lady came back the things were dry. I suspect any feed was not getting to the roots and was causing hot spots.
3. These three girls had pretty much no cal-mag for four weeks as seedlings. We used filtered water and no feed and also the compost medium was low in minerals.
Anyway, put some Epsom salts on as it can't do any harm. Holding off on the feed until watering has stabilised. What buds there are are getting nice and crystalline.
Early update. Couple of pictures of the main colas. Under loupe some trichomes are turning brown (my flash bleaches this out from these photos.) The plants are turning a lovely shade of autumn yellow and a heavenly smell has just arrived today. Different from the strong grow smell. Water only today and going forward.
First grow and I'm amazed at how I can save so much money. No complaints about RQS genetics. The plants were tough and put up with beginners mistakes. One more plant to harvest but she is a bit smaller than these. Not cured yet but surprised how nice the smoke is after drying alone.😀
Updated. Harvested the last plant, the sickly looking phenotype. After drying, 84 grams! I couldn't believe it and reset the scales a couple of times. The plant was small but the buds are extremely dense and sticky. Never judge a book by its cover All sorted now until the next harvest.
Is their colour as pale as on the pictures=? or is it only the LIght=?, if they are as pale as they look you can add more Nitrogen to them or giving them Calmag product with nitrogen ( the most contain calcium, magnesium and nitrogen. So the photosythesis is powered
@Mrs_Larimar,thank you. One is quite pale but the other two are fairly dark. I'll up the feeding a bit. I suspect I got that wrong at the beginning and might have been too cautious with it. The watering is about 1.5 per session for all plants-just going by weight. The dehumidifer is pulling a lot of water out of the air. I'l try switching to a 20/4 cycle. Thank you again.
@Mrs_Larimar, Thank you. We harvested two yesterday as trichomes were cloudy/amber, with one more yet to be harvested. Appreciate all your help and am now keenly following your diaries.
@goodgrow,I wont give her food every day, its wasted money, it will only give you a saltbuiltup in the soil. In my opinion 1-2 times a week is enough for to have nice flowers. you can add some molasses in the water to feed the microbacteria in the soil, so the plant can absorb the nutrients better. t most use the :water- water -feed -shedule
@Mrs_Larimar, Hi, yes she was getting some Canna Terra Flores, but whilst I was underwatering it. I'll be putting some more in tomorrow. Do you think I should feed them every day during flowering? Many thanks.
