So i'm running Roots Organic 707 cut 3 to 1 ratio with Worm Gold+. The bottom half of the soil is amended with Mykos and some bottom dressing of my own devising, and Mephisto Genetics Super Soil Mix. MGSSM as i will call it from now on.
This is my germination process:
So what I did was put my lights on my temp gauge and made the tent 80 degrees. So the lights were acting as a heat source. I did this for 24 hours before seed drop to raise the temperature of the medium. A splash of water every 8 hours or so under little plastic domes made from half waterbottles. 100% germ rate.
So I brewed a really basic inoculation tea and my plants exploded.
In 2 gallons of water.
Handful of worm castings.
10 ml mammoth p
10 ml colony x
5ml golden tree
10ml roots organic surge
1/4 teaspoon of molasses
Brew 24 hours.
10 ml roots organic surge
Tsp molasses
Brew 24 hours
Add 5 tbsp of my kosher
Dilute to 15 gallons of water. (I would say as low as 5 gallons would be safe)
Water into plants and give 24 hours of light for 3 days.
They doubled in size in 24 hours. Granted they are still small but it was a noticeable change
Everything was fine at this point. A couple of monsters were certainly showing their heads at this point in the grow. The Standouts in this period were the Toofless alien which turned out to be what i called the Burning Bush pheno because it fades to a bright red as you'll see in later pics and gets giant and bushy. Not tall but beautifully bushy and full of golfball sized rock hard nugs that glitter. i'm getting ahead of myself. You'll see :)
Big Photoshoot this week. Right at the start of the 9th week and girls start coming down over the next 2 weeks. Some really gorgeous shots in this update. Some of my favorite that I've ever taken so far.
Really love this variety - very good yielder - two very different phenos. I resorted to calling them donkey and burning bush - but all of them yielded very close to the same amount. Within a 8 gram spread. The high is great - veeery relaxing and uplifting. great after a long day.
Density - 7.5/10 - this may improve as its still curing.
Bag Appeal - 8/10 beautiful white nugs that are nice and dense.
Smell - the smell is great, but very light. I think its the Toof Decay part of the lineage that gives it that sweet smell that really cuts through the funk from the Ripleys. It will still stink through a bag in about 2 minutes so dont worry.
Will run this again 100%.
Density: 8.5/10 - These arent exactly dense, but they are so covered in trichomes that they are hard. Its nuts how encrusted these things are
Flavor: 9/10 - grape and pine dominate this one. Just intense sweet grape that immediately smacks you in the face.
Bag Appeal - 11/10. It is beyond bag appeal. It is beautiful beautiful stuff!
They seem to either be a little sensitive to PH fluctuation or Nitrogen.
I will investigate and come back!
All that being said, I must say that Sour Stomper is my favorite plant to grow. She has 2 pheno types, you can see them in my other pictures.
I grew three -
2 of them were super models. Big girls, right around 3 feet. Super frosty and smelled wonderful. Very thin sativa like leaves. amazing bag appeal, top shelf nugs all the way to the roots. Even the small ones were great.
The other pheno though - the frost monster i want to rename white grape... is my favorite ever. Beyond frosty and with a purple hue to the base of the trichome stalks. I had a good picture of it but I lost it :(.
It tastes and smells exactly like the other pheno. The high is the same and everything, but the potency of that second pheno is off the charts. GBD over at Mephisto Genetics must have had magic in his green thumbs on the day he crossed these beautiful genetics.00
So I got two different phenotypes. The lineage for Grapey Walter is Grape Crinkle crossed with Walter White (i'll post the mephisto description at the bottom) One smelled exactly like Grape Crinkle if Grape Crinkle had a long day in the gym. The Walter White definitely gave it some funk and cured the less dense buds produced by grape crinkle, making little golf balls of the beautiful smelling stuff. The other, is absolutely covered in trichomes and smells like minute maid orange juice. Not a joke at all. I love it. You can see the pile of dry sift in the pictures; it came from only one plant. This pheno type is amazing and given the chance it would be a mainstay in my rotation.
Density - 8/10 The Walter White worked its magic and made this bud nice and dense without becoming a grinder breaker.
Flavor - 10/10 Out of the park with this one in the flavor department. Really shines in a clean bong or a joint (my personal preference) this one tastes amazing no matter the pheno. The Crinkle leaning pheno tastes like dimetap and race gas, a beautiful flavor on the exhale. The MM pheno tastes just like orange juice again, but it has a little funk on the back end that made most of that plant end up in the head stash jar. Growers choice! haha
Bag Appeal - two separate scores here. Crinkle Pheno is a 7/10 - it isnt as Trichy and is a bit more leafy. The plant wasnt as happy so maybe that has something to do with it. I think it ran out of Potash a bit early. The MM pheno is another story - Just like the Sour Stomper, this one gets a 11/10 in the bag appeal department. Its the second strain i grab when i want to impress someone. It looks beautiful and the nugs are huge.
This strain was a little inconsistent for me, but the one that did end up doing well was well worth me trying this one out again. Overall the process was great and she performed very very well. 9/10 would grow again!
So I have to say this before I go any further. I did not feed this girl as much as she wanted me to feed her. She yellowed much earlier than every other plant, but had the stinkiest stink ive ever grown coming off her the whole run. More below.
Density - 6.5/10 - This I believe was my fault, she is very hungry and I wasn't quite ready for that. Next time she will be better.
Flavor - 11/10 - The flavor and reek coming off this stuff made it the first bag to go empty this harvest. She got cleaned out as soon as she was weighed up after cure. She ran the longest by about a week and the smells just got stronger and stronger that last week. Super OG funk with some citrus and some "chronic". Everyone who puts their nose in this bag says the word chronic. So Cal loves this shit.
Bag Appeal - 6/10 -Again this is my fault, happier plants make prettier buds. The smoke is unreal and the high is beautiful and soaring in a non racy way. Tied for best Mephisto Genetics high for me with Grape Crinkle - the Euphoria Master.
I really need to run this girl again - I have 0 pictures of her buds because as soon as they were done, it was gone. I'll try to get some good pictures of the remaining nuggetry. This wraps up my fall Mephisto Run - The Spring run has already begun and I will be starting that Diary here pretty soon. Stay tuned and keep growing. As always if anyone has any questions I will be more than happy to do my very best.
Now i started to get some deficiencies in this week. I usually do what is called spiking and layering in my pots, but I didnt this run as I ended up having to rush the seed drop a little faster than i would have liked. I compensated this week by adding Veg+Bloom Dirty, a touch of Humboldt Naturals Bloom and a light top dressing of Happy Frog 5-8-4. It seems to stop the deficiencies and now i know that I will need to go back to spiking and layering 100%. Next run I'll go over spiking and layering.
Jeeeezzz they all look imense would love to smoke some of yours looks so goood but the giant ocean is a bit of a problem lol hey do you no if i came to america as a british person would i be able to roll up n get my hands on some smoke in the dispensaries ?
@Tripaholic88, Thank you very much man! I really do appreciate it! Once the chat/forum thing gets figured out on here I'm sure we will all be sharing secrets soon haha
These didnt come out frosty at all..............wow
Also, what kind/brand of gloves do you use for harvest? Silly newbie question but advice I'm gonna need in about 4 weeks.
@Leeyum, dude i had to ask to know. Seeking knowledge is not a noob thing to do ever! I use the black lightning powder free nitrile gloves. Harbor freight has great nitrile gloves for 7.99 a box. I like the black ones because honestly they photograph better. So if that isnt a factor for you go with the harbor frieght ones! Lemme know if you have any other questionsa
Great job bro I'm trying some Mephisto genitics myself that was gifted to me by a fellow grower on here.....but anyways awesome grow and I hope to get mine just as nice.....
@Dinafem-Mark, thanks man. Im a flower guy though. The thought of squishing my beautiful babies is so sad hahha. Let alone covering them in butane. Im retarded hahahaha. I do appreciate the support though. Especially from a brand like dinafem. 🙏
That SourStomper looks mouthwatering! Congrats 👊, almost to beautiful to puff away 😂
Is it possible to find Mephisto outside of the US? Does anyone knows?
