TanteEgan Hello there,
this little sunshine just came out of her soil this morning. Her name is Pink Runtz Auto by RQS and she is #3 of my 2025 automatic project.
Since its an over-the-year project, every month a new plant will be started. So stay tuned for other reports :)
The seed was given directly into some BioBizz LightMix in the evening of 07.01.2025. The soil was prewatered 1h before putting the seed inside and sprayed with a WhiteShark-Water-Mix every morning and evening until germination. In the time between I put some clear foil over the pot to raise the humidity. Strategy seems to work ๐

TanteEgan Hey friends of happy flowers,
Pink Runtz Auto, our newest member of the family did very well in first week. She growed continously and starts already to establish the third internode.
I repottet her on day 4 in a 5l fabric pot like I did with the other girls. This time the amount of BB AllMix is only like 10 to 20% to avoid a nitrogen overdose.
So everything is prepared for a short but happy life.

TanteEgan Welcome back my friends,
Another week of short internoded growing has passed and Pink Runtz Auto is going to get bushy.
The leaves are getting bigger, new nodes are evolving and the subbranches are starting to pop out.
There are no problems visable atm, so I add only a blue trap preventing any new unwanted guests in the soil.

TanteEgan Hallo meine Lieben,
the third week of our newest family member could be summed up by one word: bushy.
The internodial distance is still very short and the fan leaves are getting bigger and bigger.
The side branches are trying to get to the light and are establishing their own fan leaves.
Maybe I have to generate some space by cutting down some leaves next week, but we will see if the side branches are making their way.

TanteEgan Hello my friends,
we are getting close to the next stage in the evolution of our Pink Runtz bush. After 4 weeks there are the first calyxes showing up and the stretch seems to start. I waited with cutting down anything, cause the side branches were strong enough to find a way to the light. Nevertheless finally I decided to remove the oldes fan leaves on the first three internodes to give so space to breath. Seems that she liked it ๐ Due to the entry of the flowering stage I added some great white again one time and will start to give some nutrients next week.

TanteEgan Hey my friends of happy plants,
the first week of flowering has passed for our little bushy Pink Runtz Lady and she tries to tell everyone that shes not that young girl anymore. The stretch doubled her size in only one week to round about 50 cm now and the side branches take their space to get to the light. Overall she seems kinda happy and I only startet to give some 5in1 since the leaves changed to a brighter green over the last days.

TanteEgan Hey mates,
the second week of flowering made our girl to the tallest in the tent. The stretch still is onging and the buds are slowly getting a denser structure all over the plant. Overall everything is fine and she took up the nutrients very well so I slowly raised the amount of food.

TanteEgan Hey girls'n'boys,
last week I had some issues with the GD-Page and I was also ill... so sorry for the short entries.
Nevertheless a lot happened with our Pink Runtz Girl. The buds are growing very well and there are a lot of pink fan leaves appearing.
The oldest fan leaves are getting yellow slowly so I raised the amount of nuts again and I think she really wants it.

TanteEgan Hey everyone out there who's spending it's time with the green hobby,
we are writing Day 63 of my Pink Runtz Lady and she looks and also smells very pretty. I slowly removed the dying fan leaves over the week and the buds are still gettin bigger.
So everything is fine and she is going closer to her end of life. RQS says that there are around 2 more weeks to go, so I'm going to stop giving nutrients next week.

TanteEgan Hello everyone,
another week has passed and we are close to the harvest. There are still no amber trichomes but almost all are cloudy so I think there are only some days left and that fits to the description of RQS.
The bud's density and their structure is very nice and the smell is already strong like some citrus fruits. I'm very exited about the taste. ๐

TanteEgan Hello out there,
the time is almost ready to cut our Pink Runtz Automatic down. The trichomes are starting to turn even more cloudy and some single ambers are also visible. Even if 11 weeks are over now I'll wait some more days with the cutdown to get the most flavour out of my buddies.
Very nice strain. Even with my 5L pots i got 30g of the finest dope. Easy to handle and nice to smoke

TanteEgan Ladys and Gentleman,
Run #3 of my 2025 Automatic Project is finished. It was a pleasure to grow this little Pink Runtz Automatic girl. Very nice colors, smell, and yield.
Even with my 5L pots I got 30g of the finest buds ๐
I hope you're enjoying my work and stay tuned for new stuff. The next run is already started and will be shared with you soon๐
Thank you. Was considering what to do next. I have 5 runtz autos Im thinking about.
Im currently restricted to a 40cmx40cm tent.
I was thinking of 5L and a 3.8L pots. What in your experience, would be max no of plants in a tent this small? Using the 5L or 3.8L pots. I grow in biobizz light, and had used biotabs, in bigger pots, but last run of titan f1 autos resulted in great but dwarf plants. I had put 2 seeds in a drilled washbasin, held 9L of compost, but was only 12 cm deep, and i planted the two diagonally opposite, so I guess the 2 walls, quite close to each, and about 30 cm free space for half of the plant, probably distressed them. I had grown a panty punch auto in same basin, but it was planted in middle of basin, not in a corner!
@pepe16
, For me a maximum of 4 plants in 60x60 is possible with 5L pots, but this is a little mess already. I struggle to reach the single pots for watering sometimes and the airflow and also the light distribution isn't that good anymore. I think 4 is only working because I have different lifestages of each plant over the whole time. So every plant has another size and density so I can arrange them. If I would grow 4 plants IN THE SAME CYLE with the same starting time it wouldn't work well, I think. Already with 4 different stages I have to manage the plant's positon very often to avoid direct contact with the tent's walls and also with the other plants. My pots including the drainer below have a diameter of 25 cm, so the space on the bottom and the distance to the walls of the tent are most limiting. But nevertheless also the light distribution and the ventialtion would be much less effective.
Anyway I think for 40x40 it could be possible to have 3 plants in 3.8L in different stages but this would be already really dense and you have to manage a lot of things over the whole grow. I think 2 with 5L should work if you have enough light and constant ventilation.
Regarding your experiences with the Titan F1 you could check out my diary #6. This was my overall second run of a Titan F1 and the plant stayed very small in 5L pots. I also did it in 11L before in another grow and there it almost reached the promised 60 cm. So maybe you shouldn't wonder about the dwarfyness since it's a small strain anyway.
And for me this is also the reason why it do not perform very well in small pots. You always have to remember that the size of the plant only has a limited relation to the size and amount of the roots. I checked the medium after the 5L grow of my Titan F1 and it was consisting of almost nothing but roots, while other strains kept less dense and the medium was more fluffy in the end.
And I also NEVER reached the minimal size given by the breeder in 5L pots. So if you give more space for the roots you will have a more powerful plant. The more you reduce the possible space for the roots the less yield you will have with one an the same strain. If you raise the volume the upper limit finaly is defined by the genetic and if you still raise the volume at some point there will be no more possible effects. I often read it's recommended to go for at least 15L pots with automatics in the past, so you should always take the breeders data on this basis and then predict what you can achieve with the smaller pots. This finaly is one of the conclusions for my 2025 Automatic Project you can find here on GD.
Hope this helps for your decision.
@TanteEgan, Thank you for such a well thought out and long reply. It has been very helpful. You are right in that autos need bigger pots to thrive. The Titan's turned out to be very strong indeed.
Couchlock and then a mild uplift, and fantastic sleep. But it's been two years off THC, so it's more to do with that I think.
But it was good to see how small they grow, so for a micro grow, they would be perfect.
I've not grown photos in a while. But have some decent seeds now.
I grew three bruce banner in 5L pots, and vegged them out trying topping, fimming and high stress training to learn. They turned out good, so pondering now - autos or photos?
I think I may go with photos this time, and maybe a couple of autos in a v small tent.
Anyway, thank you for the reply, and good luck with future grows.
