NikoMew Time to christen my brand new grow setup! I have only ever grown outdoors before (316g last year, for those wondering), so I’m excited about the possibilities of a controlled environment. I’ll be trying to tickle as much as I can out of this setup. First time doing a public diary too! I’ll be starting out with an easy (and cheap!) strain from my beloved RQS. But don’t you worry! I’ll be trying some different strains for sure, I’ve got my eye on some MSNL ones once I feel more confident. I started Germination with the good ol’ cup of water technique, my favourite since it’s easy and has never failed me. They all popped and were planted on the 5th. Wish me Luck!

NikoMew They all broke the soil by the 10th. Very simultaneously, only delayed by an hour in the exact order I planted them! Very satisfying! Within a few days the first set of leaves was visible and by the middle of the week, two going on three! Looking good so far! Only mistake I made was having the light too high leading to some minor stretching but I quickly fixed that. Got them on 500ml water every 3 days for the first week and a 20/4 light schedule. My choice of Nutrients is Hesi, which has served me well in my outdoor escapades.
One concern I did note was the presence of 3 fungus gnats buzzing about the soil. Strange considering how thoroughly dry the medium was, but I’ll let it dry out a bit more next time and they should go away.

NikoMew Week 2 has come to a close! Looking pretty fresh! Watering was upped to 1L per plant every 3 days, nutrient ratio stayed the same. The light height change really seemed to do something, they are growing nice and bushy like we like em. Speaking of, the ladies will be getting their haircut and training soon. No more gnats either! Overall very satisfying progress ;) I’m really liking the indoor experience so far!

NikoMew Week 3 ended nicely! Update a bit late tho haha. Only problem was a lack of nutrients on the left plant towards the end of the week. Doubled the dosage for the next 2 watering or so. Haircuts went well! I even got lucky with the last one and made four new tops!! Prolly because the nodes were so close together, see last pic. Ups n downs but goin steady. Starting Scrog soon.

NikoMew Week 4 Ended well. Remember how I tried upping it to fix a nutrition def? I think I may have overdone it. Looking back, I lost the motivation to update due to the setback. But! All is never lost, there is always a way. Upwards and onwards!

NikoMew I was right. In retrospect I should’ve just kept feeding it normal amounts. Got some Nitrogen toxicity and nutrient burn on the left. I spent week 5 upset and frantically fixing my mistake. Most upsettingly, I didn’t notice the signs of toxicity until after I fed them. This later blossomed into what you see in the pics. I wanted to flower them at the end of week 5, but I decided to give them another week to recuperate. Took the scrog net down for now too since the toxicity stunted them a bit. I wasn’t expecting the bottom leaves to yellow naturally like they do outdoors with larger plants, since the light is so abundant, but I guess I was wrong. I’ll flower them after this week and reinstall the net. Wish me luck. Upwards and onwards, eh?

NikoMew Week 6 let them recover a bit. Only Water. Switched them at the end of the week and fed them their first flowering nutrients.

NikoMew Flower week one is over! I did some defoliation that I wanted to do before the toxicity in veg, setting up for lollipoping, prolly gonna do more defoliation after the stretch. The screen is filled pretty ok, looking forward to what’s to come. The left one is starting to get its colour back too! Otherwise routine as usual.

NikoMew Flowering week two ended with some good growth. Defoliated first day of week three. Nutrients normal, still seeing some fallout from the past toxicity on old leaves, which I mostly defoliated first. I’m going on a trip for a week and need to find a way for someone to water+feed them… worried.

NikoMew Got someone to water while I was gone but when I came back we had some toxicity on the left one :( Now I have to deal with that and them being a bit further behind. I’m assuming it was recuperating from before because I’ve followed a proper feeding schedule after. On the plus side the other two look amazing so far! Thinking about another defoliation soon. Hopefully the other two will stay healthy.

NikoMew Left is slowly getting better. Keeping things on schedule and started adding phosphorus and boosters. Did another defoliation to uncover budsites and trim unproductive growth. I’m looking to save the densest buds only, rest will prolly be trimmed. I don’t like it leafy.

NikoMew Buds are getting fatter every day, very nice to see. Smell is getting stronger. Going to start maturing prolly end of next week. Flowering time for Special Kush is 7-8 weeks, so I’ll be going for 8. Some minor defoliation at the beginning of the week, removing unproductive growth and making sure all bud sites get a good amount of light. Patience is killing me, and the stunted-ness of the left plant is frustrating me. But watching them grow does satisfy me, sometimes I just stare at them for an hour; patiently, longingly, taking in the sour air. Wish me luck.

NikoMew Nice growth. Definitely maturing now, looking forward to the harvest. Starting last week of nutrients before the flush, gonna prolly let the left plant pull for a lil longer. Nice looking buds for now.

NikoMew Right and middle are on track, left however is lagging behind. Might do 1 more week of nutrients then, depending on their state, 1-2 weeks flush for the middle and right. And 1-2 weeks nutrients then 1 week flush on the straggler. Let’s see how they look end of next week. I’m trying to sync them up kinda so I can dry in my tent. My priority is the two on track ones. Wish me luck.

NikoMew Flush started, Buds are looking mighty resinous, they are pretty much ready to harvest at the end of this week. Only concern is the left most plant. Still mostly white, it’s stunted by a few weeks. I’m seeing how much I can let the others go while I feed it, yellowing is starting to get strong. I was hoping for 2 weeks but it’ll prolly only be one. 9th week will be it.
