Time to christen my brand new grow setup! I have only ever grown outdoors before, so I’m excited about the possibilities of a controlled environment. I’ll be trying to tickle as much as I can out of this setup. First time doing a public diary too! I’ll be starting out with an easy (and cheap!) strain from my beloved RQS. But don’t you worry! I’ll be trying some different strains for sure, I’ve got my eye on some MSNL ones once I feel more confident. I started Germination with the good ol’ cup of water technique, my favourite since it’s easy and has never failed me. They all popped and were planted on the 5th. Wish me Luck!

They all broke the soil by the 10th. Very simultaneously, only delayed by an hour in the exact order I planted them! Very satisfying! Within a few days the first set of leaves was visible and by the middle of the week, two going on three! Looking good so far! Only mistake I made was having the light too high leading to some minor stretching but I quickly fixed that. Got them on 500ml water every 3 days for the first week and a 20/4 light schedule. My choice of Nutrients is Hesi, which has served me well in my outdoor escapades. One concern I did note was the presence of 3 fungus gnats buzzing about the soil. Strange considering how thoroughly dry the medium was, but I’ll let it dry out a bit more next time and they should go away.

Week 2 has come to a close! Looking pretty fresh! Watering was upped to 1L per plant every 3 days, nutrient ratio stayed the same. The light height change really seemed to do something, they are growing nice and bushy like we like em. Speaking of, the ladies will be getting their haircut and training soon. No more gnats either! Overall very satisfying progress ;) I’m really liking the indoor experience so far!

Week 3 ended nicely! Update a bit late tho haha. Only problem was a lack of nutrients on the left plant towards the end of the week. Doubled the dosage for the next 2 watering or so. Haircuts went well! I even got lucky with the last one and made four new tops!! Prolly because the nodes were so close together, see last pic. Ups n downs but goin steady. Starting Scrog soon.

Week 4 Ended well. Remember how I tried upping it to fix a nutrition def? I think I may have overdone it. Looking back, I lost the motivation to update due to the setback. But! All is never lost, there is always a way. Upwards and onwards!

I was right. In retrospect I should’ve just kept feeding it normal amounts. Got some Nitrogen toxicity and nutrient burn on the left. I spent week 5 upset and frantically fixing my mistake. I just gave them water, trying to let them recover. Most upsettingly, I didn’t notice the signs of toxicity until after I fed them. This later blossomed into what you see in the pics. I wanted to flower them at the end of week 5, but I decided to give them another week to recuperate. Took the scrog net down for now too since the toxicity stunted them a bit. I wasn’t expecting the bottom leaves to yellow naturally like they do outdoors with larger plants, since the light is so abundant, but I guess I was wrong. I’ll flower them after this week and reinstall the net. Wish me luck. Upwards and onwards, eh?
