Hello everyone,
I started growing some seeds I had 6 days after it was legal in the great state of MI. I should have just ordered some Auto's but I did not know anything I was doing so it was a great learning experience. I planted 5 seeds, all grew, 3 turned out to be boys. So I am finishing those two. In the mean time I have been reading all your diaries (well not all there are a lot) and watching YouTube, and reading everything I can on various sites. I have a forum post I have been keeping for my first grow on GWE. I found this site a few weeks ago. So I thought this looked cool to track the progress. I spent a lot of time researching the strains I wanted to grow and settled on these two. The Gelato is specifically for me while the Strawberry Banana is for the two of us. That is why I planted two. While waiting for my flowering plants to finish I decided to get a 2 x 4 x 4 veg tent to start stuff in. I also decided that sine I will only have 2 plants I could not wait 15 or 16 weeks for these strains to finish so I ordered some Jack Herer AutoFlower seeds from SeedKing (got the others too). So now, I am going to run out of space, so I am going to be building a veg room under my stairs and then use my 2x4x4 inside that room for my Mom Plants, I will take clones off of these strains and keep them going. So that is my plan run the Autos, veg these three for the time it takes to grow the Jack. I am hoping to keep a perpetual harvest going eventually as I learn more. BEST HOBBY IN THE WORLD
I planted the seeds, on 2/13/19. On Saturday 2/16/18 the Gelato seed started to crack at night, by morning she was popping through. The Strawberry Banana looked bigger, By mid day Sunday the Strawberry Banana came up. That is great, then a 2nd sprout came up? Well long story short, don't plant when you are High and Drinking. So I posted a question on GWE and around midnight someone said tear the Root Riot cube apart and separate them before the roots got tangled. Awesome, I got up and did just that. I should have cut 2 Root Riot's open and put each one in. I planted them in Coco Coir 3" pots with Coco. They are OK, but moving slow. I have baggies over them and they are staying nice and moist and growing slow. I moved the Gelato directly into a 1 Gallon pot with Coco on Tuesday, probably too early it stretched a good bit, but I will bury the stem more when I move to 5 gallon pots eventually for these 3.
I am currently planning to take clones for mother plants from these three. I intend to manifold them and take my time. I will have to wait for the Jacks to finish. It will be interesting to see what I actually end up doing.

Update, the plants look good I took the bags off this afternoon at lunch and when got back they had grown a bit and turned to the light, the Gelato is looking good. My Jack Auto Flower's showed up today, they go tomorrow, too tired tonight. I figure these plants have 9 to 12 weeks at least to veg. I will be building my new veg room this weekend and should have enough room.
Week 2 2/24/19
I have not take any pictures the last few days, the Gelato has it's 2nd set of leaves growing, the 2 Strawberry Banana are going slow, but still look ok. I am not in any hurry. I spent my Sunday building my new Veg room. I will be taking my 2x4x4 tent down completely in the very near future. I will get some pictures up tonight.
2/25/19
Went home at lunch and took a picture of them. The two together are the Strawberry Banana and the one in the 1 gal pot is the Gelato.
2/28/19
The Gelato seedling is doing great. One Strawberry Banana plant is doing ok and the other is struggling. These were the two seeds i accidentally panted together and separated. At lunch went home and watered the flower tent plants, while doing that I turned off the LED and snapped some better pictures. The one seedling is really struggling.
My CFL bulbs came today so if I get the rest of the tile down, I can get my seedling area ready this evening. Also my Panda film came today as well so I will be busy tonight. Doubt I will get all done, but will give it a shot.
2/29/19
Well did not get the new area finished, but did setup 2 of the CFL's over the straggler and my Jack Herer Seeds (another grow diary) She looked better today. Got a door for the new veg area. Should have no problem getting everything setup by the end of the weekend. Hopefully the straggler will come around and get going. I have plenty of time to Veg these 3 till my Jack Autos finish and if my first two plants will ever finish. They should have 8 or 9 weeks of veg.
3/6/19
Well, was sick this weekend/week, back to work today. The last few days the Gelato and one Strawberry Banana are doing great getting 2nd/3rd set of leaves. I am going to start LST on the Gelato tonight start leaning it over a bit. The struggling Strawberry Banana looked today better than it has, I think it may start going now. Otherwise all is going well. The new veg room is working out great it is still almost 100% sealed, and the humidity is high and temp is staying well. I think this room is going to work out great.
3/7/19
Noticeable growth on the two plants and the Straggler now has some new growth on it now. It looks like it will get going. I am debating if I want to start LST bending down the Gelato yet. The one Strawberry Banana needs a bit more growth.
3/9/19 Gelato and Strawberry Banana 1 are doing great. The Straggler Strawberry Banana is now starting to get growing. I am glad it looks like that girl is going to come along. I should have a staggered movement from veg room to flower room because of the slow growth of one. Either way they have 5+ more weeks min to veg. Hopefully I don't run out of space with all these plants.
Got the Gelato replanted it was had roots coming out of the side of the 1gal pot. Transplant went very well.
The one strawberry banana that was straggling along is finally growing well now. The other Strawberry Banana is doing well not quite ready for next pot yet. Good thing, because I am now out of coco after 3 5 gal pots filled. I have 5 bricks on the way and just need to pickup some perilite at Home Depot.
3/12/19
Girls are looking good the plants look a bit short, i raised the light up a bit so they can stretch up a little more. My 1500 W LED should be able to adequately cover as much space as I will need. When I get 2 more 5 gallon pots in there things will end up a bit tight. Big growth difference now that I am realizing the importance of PH in a grow. I should have my Coco today it says arriving by 8pm. Got stuck at work till 8pm did not get to get perilite yesterday, will do at lunch today. The larger Strawberry Banana will need to be transplanted very soon.
3/13/19
I was planing to top the Gelato last night but it's 5th node was not quite big enough so I figured that I will wait to top her, I did take all the 1st nod off see new pictures. I also transplanted the bigger Strawberry Banana to it's 5 Gallon Pot. I took off a bit of the lower 1st growth, but will give her a few days to get used to her new home. I am going to move my light over to the right and spread the girls out a bit more. Right now all the pots are touching each other on the sides, I know they need more air flow. I am also fighting with temp and humidity espical after watering them. De-Humidifier heats up the room to 80+ and humidity down to 65%. I have not put in a exhaust in this new room yet. But will soon.
3/14/19
Got a lot done with the girls, most time was spent on my 2 Mandarin Cookie Clones, but not tracking that grow here. I topped the Gelato last night and secured the 3rd node down. Looking forward to seeing how quadlining this girl goes. Strawberry Banana that is well a head of the Straggler, is about ready to top and secure next branches down. The Straggler is growing well and will be transplanting her to a 5 gal pot this weekend likely. I am starting to realize that I may have too many plants going for the amount of space I have. But I guess that will be a good problem.
3/19/19
Everyone is now in their final home. Got the straggler Strawberry Banana planted to her 5 gal pot, started a bit more training on her. The larger one got topped yesterday. She has 3 branches on her at each node so does the other one. I think the Gelato is about ready to have some of her huge fan leaves off this evening. Looking forward to getting to continue the Quadlining on these. At lunch the flower tent was all good, so I took the Gelato out and took off her main 4 fan leaves, looks like both of the Strawberry Banana's will need some attention tonight. Everything continues to grow great, did some training on the two strawberry banana last night. Adjusted the Gelato a bit before bed, they are now growing like "weeds" hope my other tent finishes flowering very soon.
3/20/19
Fed my flower room and just did some minor adjustments to Strawberry Banana today. Everyone else is going great, will get some more work done tonight. Did a lot more adjustments to the girls last nigh spent about 2 hours working on various plants. It has been a battle keeping the branches down going to have to start tying them down. I am also out of wire going to have to raid my dads box again.
Just chugging along, I topped the Straggler Strawberry banana yesterday, took off a few fan leaves to make sure each bud site was getting all the light it can. Everything with these girls are going great it has been fun to HST these girls. Still waiting for my flowering plants to finish, but I may have to move a few to flower tent even before the other grow finishes.
I was in the middle of a bad break up with a gal I dated for 3 years so I have been a bit lax the last few weeks and could just barley keep up with 11 plants growing. Just too much work with a 60 work week and all the other crap life can throw at you. Anyway, I did not get a lot of photos but during this week I did a major defloration and really worked the branches back down.
I am glad I have had all the time I want with these I will do another next week and figure out how many colas I might end up with but right now they look good! They are ready to go but will keep them a bit longer in the veg room while others are finishing up.
All 3 are doing well, had a major change in my life and have been a bit preoccupied lately and have not updated my Journal lately. Things are getting back to normal. I need to do one more major defloration on the girls and get them ready to flip to flower. My 1st grow is still finishing from 12/16 gosh I wish it would finish I harvested one plant to make room and I was out of product. I have 2 other clones ready to go in Sunday I plan to keep these going at least another week or two and may just flip my veg room to flower. Right now the only thing I plan to start is a few mothers and some more autos, I have some G13 Auto's on the way. The Quad-lining is going very well except the branches are now way too strong to hold down with wire hooks in the pot. I will be tying them down today hopefully. So one more major HST and trim and then let them veg for a week or so I plan to flip them to flower Easter weekend.

No new pictures today, but the girls are recovering from some serious bending/defloration. I wasn't sure if I took too much off but new growth tells me all is well when I looked in on them before I left for work.
4/9/10
Well did the major HST and defloration last night on all 3 girls. This should be the last major I do I will let them grow from here and just LST them. I may take away some minor bud sites and focus on main colas on these as I learned from the quadlining tutorial on GWE web site/forum.
4/13/19
I moved the two clones to the flower tent last night, this made a lot of room in the veg room. I moved the 3 photos and one Jack to center and droped the light to about 25 inches, they will get some more training this weekend and getting ready to just flip the whole room to 12/12 on Easter and let them go. I ordered a CANAGROW 300W COB LED light and am going to setup my veg 2x2x4 tent to start next plants in. But for now the three girls that are in this journal are doing great, can't wait to see them start to grow vertical now.
4/15/19
They are and have recovered from last defloration and I have taken all the wire stakes out of the pots, they were not holding anymore. I fed them each to 10% run off yesterday and tucked some leaves back, just going to let them go for now. I am confident that a full 8 weeks of HST and Veg that long will have built a good foundation now it is time to grow. I gave 1/2 strength MaxiGrow and 1/2 strength MaxiBloom and about 1TBS of molasses.
4/17
Well forgot to update to week 9 yesterday and added to week 8 but anyway, not much going on with these girls they have nicely recovered from the extreme defloration I did last week, not doing much to them this week other than rotate them to keep them evenly growing. I found some interesting tomato rings at Lowes I am going to get to tie the colas outward as they are growing up very fast now.
I gave the girls some MaxiBloom with their last feeding and will continue to go down on the MaxiGrow in future feedings.
I need to get a vent installed out of the veg room to get the humidity down before I flip the room to 12/12 for these photos to grow. I have 2 more auto's that have sprouted and will get the 2x4x4 tent set back up with the new 300W Led COBB light I got for that. I will start a new Journal for those Auto's soon.
4/21
The veg room is now officially the 2nd flower room, no room to grow these 3 in the flower tent so I setup my 2x4x4 tent and got a 300W light to veg in for a while. The Gelato is about 3 inches taller than the 2 Strawberry Banana plants, but they are doing great no issues other than they just keep growing like crazy, I will give them a few days in flower cycle before deflowering them again. They probably need to be fed again tonight and I need to elevate them off the floor to get some air under the pots, I have done that for all the other plants and need to do something for these girls. I also need to get some air moving out of the room the humidity is staying around 75% or put the dehumidifier back in the room. I am going to try to get that figured out tonight. I look forward to seeing the resulting cola's using the quadlining technique I learned on GWE Forum.
4/23
Everyone needed a good feeding the girls were bone dry took a little less than 2 gallons of water to get to runoff per pot. Gave gave about 1/4 strength MaxiGrow, 1/2 strength MaxiBloom and about a TBS of molasses with their feeding. I spent a lot of time sitting on the floor tucking leaves down, so many bud sites are forming or will be. I checked on them at lunch and they had grown quite a bit since last night. I will get some more photos up I forgot to take a picture of the Gelato last night.
4/24
Checked in on the girls at lunch and left the door open the humidity is too high in there I am taking a day off tomorrow and will install exhaust vent tonight or tomorrow. Otherwise the girls are doing great, I have been tucking all the leaves I can but they just keep growing, I hope I can wait to deflower and LST them but I bet I end up doing it tomorrow. Otherwise I raised the light a few inches to get the spread to cover the entire canopy. I am really considering setting up a SCROG net over these girls.
The girls were pretty dry last night so along with a lot of other things I did last night I fed, deflowered and LST the Strawberry Banana and Gelato, I used plain PH 5.8 &5.9 (2 - 2 Gallon Watering Cans) to a good bit of run off and while I was trimming and rearranging everything let them drain.
I harvested 3 of my first grow plants and then moved the Strawberry Banana and Gelato into the flower tent and lowered the light to about 24 inches above the Strawberry Banana, the Gelato is about 3 or 4 inches taller and the 2 clones in the flower tent are about 4 inches above the Gelato. I figured I would try that and see, they are getting switched from a 1500W Led to a 600W HPS, but that did not do anything I noticed last time I moved some plants.

Nothing new going on with these three. They are forming nice and filling in well from last defloration. Just keep doing some bending on the branches. No bud sites developing yet they are growing well otherwise.
I have been out of the loop for a while was sick for 3 days, but I am quite happy with the flowering of these 3 girls!. The canopy is flat and bud sites everywhere. Can't wait to see as they keep forming. The tent is more or less on Autopilot now. Just peek in on them and water them.
My PH meter I had was way off. I ordered another but Thursday night I did get them all a good flush with lots of runnoff. Tonight they all need a drink.
All the girls in the flower tent are packed in tight I think new rule of thumb will be 7gal in future grows, the 5gal you can tell the roots are as packed in as my first grow in 3 gal.
@spacetaste, I spent a lot of time researching the strains I wanted to try. This one I actually choose for my Girlfriend, the Gelato was what I picked. I can't wait to smoke it, I've seen many reviewed of it and looks great!
