Granny Candy (1&2) - Fruit of the Lum (1&3) - Organic Living Soil
Running a couple of different strains in this one. One is new from seed, the others are clones from last run.
··Fruit of the Lum - LUM1 & LUM3 (both clones)
··Granny Candy - GRAN1 & GRAN2
(GRAN1 is a clone, GRAN2 is from seed)
Two plants in the 30 gallon - LUM3 on the left, LUM1 on the right.
Two plants in the rectangular EarthBox - LUM1 in the back, GRAN1 in the front.
One plant in the homemade 5 gallon SIP bucket - GRAN2.
(Plants in the middle are clones in solo cups. They will be removed soon)
Tried to get all of them to be around the same height to start off. Had to keep trimming the clones until the GRAN2 caught up. GRAN1 was a bit smaller and never caught up to the LUMs, which makes sense because the LUMs explode with growth when allowed to.
Switching to flower in a couple of days.
Keeping plants short to keep a healthy distance from the light after stretch.
Have been changing the light schedule by an hour each day or so. Will make down to 12/12 tomorrow.
End of the first week of flower.
Amendments and EWC given to all.
GRAN2 in bucket ran out of water faster than the others and I didn't notice until late one evening - got thirsty. Droop should go away quickly now the watering has been fixed.
End of second week of flower.
Moved fan under canopy to increase airflow.
Compost tea started a few days ago. Brewed for 27 hours. Gave to plants yesterday.
Started germ of organic blue corn today to use for SST.
I collect rainwater and save it to use for watering the plants. Been watering as needed. When 30gal gets to around 35%, I give it 2 gallons. I fill bottom of 5gal SIP bucket and EarthBox when they're dry.
Once every week or two i add some different things to the water for the 30 gal and I give a bit of this to the top of the soil in the other two containers as well. Don't use all of these all of the time, but this is the list of supplements I pick from:
Mycorrhizae, big 6 (micro nutrients), therm x 70 (saponines), dried coconut water, peach ferment, thrive yahweh probiotics, build a bloom (organic bloom nutes), bulletproof si (only during VEG), fish hydrolysate if plants need a quick boost.
End of week 5 of flower.
Will be changing the light schedule tomorrow to one less hour of light.
11 on - 13 off
Scent is increasing nicely on all. Excited to see how the GRAN2 turns out.
End of week 7 of flower.
Planning to harvest this run a little earlier than usual. Probably somewhere between 8-9 weeks.
Been picking off a few fan leaves every couple of days since week 5.
Making sure to keep good airflow throughout the canopy.
Buds smell great.
GRAN2 - very pungent fruit punch type scent. Tested a small nug (dried for only around 4 days) and it had a pineapple flavor.
GRAN1 - distinct strawberry scent. Pungent as well. Has a gas that follows the strawberry flavor. The strawberry flavor is surprisingly accurate and gets me every time.
LUM1 - this is one of my favorites. The scent is almost identical to the flavor of juicy fruit gum with a bit of gas behind that. Can't help but keep running this one.
LUM3 - similar to LUM1, but less of the fruit scent. More gas and what I can only describe as a fresh weedy smell. Smokes the same way - very clean and fresh. Almost refreshing, whereas the LUM1 is more of a relaxing version.
Harvested this week.
I'll post the harvest weeks in the journal after the plants have dried.
Drying as close to 60% and 60°F as possible.
Looks like the yield should be ok.
I have found from previous runs that after drying, the plants will have lost around 70% of their wet weight.
Additionally, once dried, I find that around 50% of the remaining weight is lost in the trimming/branch removal process.
After taking that into account, it seems like all together I should be left with around 1lb of trimmed bud, but time will tell.
🤞🏼
I figured out a way to hang the light a little bit higher too. I will implement that before starting next run, so I can hopefully add some height to the plants. An additional 6"-10" headroom would be great.
